As you enter the cottage the knotty pine walls and hard wood floors welcome you. The living room looks over the Bass River and has amazing sunsets every night. The glass sliding doors bring you to the patio, hot outdoor shower, grill and entrance to the 185' pier and dock. There is a small tidal beach for launching canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats about 100' away. The boat slip is not part of the rental fee. The living room has a gas fire place, a/c, flat screen tv w cable and internet. The kitchen has everything you should need for preparing meals for your stay. The dining nook has a view of the Bass River. Upstairs, there is a full bathroom w a tub/shower combo. All ceramic tile, floor to wall, was done in 2000. The Lighthouse Inn has a great menu on the beach. From the cottage, take a walk to the Breakfast Room for breakfast, Steamer Trunk's surf stuff shop, and the Christmas Tree Shop. There is a heated pool, laundry room and bikes to borrow at the cabins. Kayak rentals are nearby the Tom Thumb. The ramp is about 8 minutes from the cottage and parking is free. Beaches: Chapin Beach/Mayflower Beach on the Bay side off Rt. 6a is so beautiful at sunset. Pack a picnic dinner. During the day, bring the kids at low tide...the beach goes out for miles with an abundance of tide pools. West Dennis Beach is just 2 miles from the cottage. It has just enough waves. Coastguard Beach: A 40 minute drive, big waves and nature. Seagull Beach in Yarmouth is calm and warm. Only 10 minutes away. Chapin Beach and Mayflower Beach are best experienced w a low tide that leaves a beach of about 3 miles out and tide pools for toddlers to play in. Resturants everywhere and shopping. The stay was wonderful! The neighborhood is nice and convenient to most attractions. The only snafu was a little miscommunication about the key, but it was easily worked out without a delay in our plans.
The stay was very enjoyable. Something about this place made it the most relaxing Cape Cod vacation so far: let it be the views, water sports, the relaxing, low key cabin or visiting the larger associated property in Yarmouth..
The pool at the camp site near by was spectacular as well.
Management was very professional and communicative.
We had an amazing weekend in Cape Cod. We spent the weekend fishing from the pier and enjoying the beautiful weather! We liked it so much, we plan to be back next year!
Adorable cottage in an ideal location. My dog thoroughly enjoyed it, too. The view of Grand Cove can't be beat. We were very pleased with the Tom Thumb cottage and look forward to returning.
Such a tranquil vacation. Beautiful view right out the back door. Good food just minutes away in either direction. Cottage on the waterfront was small and cute with everything you could need.Cottage could use some minor repairs but well worth our stay!!
Overall a pretty good experience. This is my first time using vrbo. However I would not recommend with older children, as one bed is under an angled part of the roof and during the night my son (16) hit his head and arm more than once.
Enjoyed our stay! The quaint home was adorable. The sunsets each night were beautiful. It had everything you’d need for making meals and relaxing. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower, used that more than the indoor. Having the boat slip (extra cost) was a great benefit. The furniture is a bit dated, but adds to the cabin charm. The host was very responsive and helped us solve an internet issue rather quickly. I wish that it had a washer and dryer, that would be perfect. Would stay again.

Thank you for your lovely review.
We are so glad you enjoyed the location.
We had a great stay at this property! View is stunning. Cabin itself is rustic but nice. Our dog loved laying outside but the sides of the property are not fenced in and neighbors are close. Was not a problem for us but wanted to mention for other dog owners. With a toddler I was worried about safety from water access but there is a secure fence between you and water so nothing to worry about. Hot when we stayed and window ACs cooled well. Outdoor shower was fantastic! No room for pack and play in twin bedroom so we ended up with baby in master. On main road but setback nicely from any noise or cars.
The cottage is very cute. Definitely old and weathered but charming and cozy. Beautiful view. I’m not sure where the beach access is on the river near the property but it’s not directly in front of it as I thought. Very quiet neighborhood. I thought it was a good location in cape cod, about 30 minutes from Hyannis and Nauset. 1 hour from Provincetown. I did have to ask for the address and how to access the pool you could use because that was not clearly stated anywhere in the house. Property manager was easy to communicate with on Vrbo messaging and responded fairly quickly.
We had a fantastic time during our stay at this cabin on the water. The location was unbeatable - right by the water, and we loved swimming off the dock while enjoying breathtaking sunrises and sunsets each day. Fishing and crab-catching were also a blast!
The cabin itself had all the essentials we needed, but it would have been even better if the kitchen had more basics like salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar. Nevertheless, we made the most of it and even tried the outdoor shower, which was a delightful experience.
The layout of the cabin was great, with a lovely upstairs master and a perfect room with twin beds for kids. However, one downside was that the AC units inside seemed to have some mold due to the humid conditions, but we understand that this might be expected in such a location.
Overall, I had an incredible time here, and the memories our family were great!
Nice House. Good for a couple with 1 child. Mattress on all beds very old and not comfortable. Bring your own pillows. Kitchen is great and updated. We stayed in Oct, so weather was cool and we needed heat. Fireplace didn't work on main level. Owner had a small space heater which was not adequate. I called about the fireplace and was told it needed repair. Owner never asked if we were o.k with space heater or if they could bring another one to us. Bathroom door latch needs replacing. If you shut the door you can't get in from the outside. Not good if someone needed to help you out of the bath. Location is Great. I can see where in the summer this house and the surrounding houses can be very busy with lots of people sharing small amount of parking and small beach area near dock.

Location is fabulous/sublime, rental is subpar
I would love to give a great review, but… The location on Grand Cove is absolutely WONDERFUL! We fished for bass and blue crab right off the pier, the sunsets are magnificent, and the overall outdoor area is fabulous. We stayed for 10-nights, and I would highly recommend this area of Cape Cod to others.
The actual rental is terrible (sorry). Not only is it tiny, BUT everything is just barely ok. The AC in the master bedroom works, but it’s so terribly LOUD you can’t possibly sleep while its on. The shower works, but the shower curtain does not cover the full tub so you have to be very careful to keep the water in the tub. The refrigerator works, but runs constantly. The oven works, but takes 25+ minutes to heat to 350-degrees. The venetian shades open and close, but not all of them have the cord stoppers in place, and what happened to us is the wind hit the window causing the shade to drop, and we could no longer close the shade as the cord disappeared. There are water stains all over the kitchen ceiling, some on the master bedroom ceiling, and mold under the kitchen sink. When you turn off the water in the kitchen sink, the water lines are directly under the house and make a terrible racket. The stair railing is rackety. Huge chunks of moldings on the ceiling are missing, the furniture is old and it is just tacky. Everything feels in disrepair and held together by Band-Aids. Sad really.
It’s not worth the money

This review is very sad amidst many that are very nice. I would like to document that NONE of these issues were brought to our attention during your stay. We would have gladly brought new ac, fix any leaks or fix anything within our power to do during your stay. Sorry the cottage was not to your expectations and will take all you have listed under review for next year.
This is very unfair to do to an owner. You could have called or text us and we would have been there to help.
