About the host
Hosted by Jason Smith

We are a hard working family who has been blessed by God to have such a beautiful dream home on gorgeous Douglas Lake. I grew up in East Tennessee, and always thought there could be no better place on Earth. Over the course of my professional life, I had opportunity to travel throughout our great country and live practically in every state between Virginia and Texas and all the way down to Florida, and I can affirm, I was right all along! It took 30 years, but God saw fit to finally allow me to come back home, and even better, blessed our family such that we can share the amazing peace, beauty, adventure, and connection to all that is truly important with you and your loved ones. It is my hope and prayer that everyone gets to know the soul-deep joy that we feel when we are here.
Why they chose this property
The location near the mountains and near the historic town of Dandridge and local attractions like Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Asheville, and Gatlinburg is absolutely ideal for all adventure seekers! This particular property offers far more than that, however. Spend the day floating in the warm summer water; paddle throughout hidden coves; watch your kids jump off the dock and swim and play; sit together for family game time on the upper deck or a Dart tournament in the rec room; enjoy a glass of wine in the hot tub with your soulmate. Then sit on the back porch overlooking the water, watching the sun go down, and you will find this place will have put a mark on your very being forever. That is the magic of Fort Sunsets.
What makes this property unique
We love the peacefulness of Douglas lake and the awesome clean water. How many lakes can you see your feet in? There is nothing that our home does not offer, nothing that anyone could find lacking to make for the perfect vacation for three days or three weeks! We fell in love with the porch spaces and the hardscape with fire pit and hot tub. There is simply so much versatile space here for groups large and small, and so much to do that you could not be bored if you tried!
