About the host
Hosted by Marc Mumford

Our, (Virginia and Marc's) first apartment was across the street from the beach in Huntington Beach.
I (Marc) grew up surfing Huntington Beach since I was a kid and lived in several different apartments, as a young adult, in the first 4 blocks closest to the beach.
There is always challenges with parking and congestion that close to the beach.
In 1993 we bought this fourplex, which we found out was in a great location. Away from the daily beach congestion and kaos (except for the Fouth of July and US Open surf contest at the end of July)
We love Huntington Beach and raised our daughters here. Our family has surfed, paddle boarded, used the close by fire pits for barbecue's. or just relaxed on the beach from this property. One of our favorites is the multi use bike path, which we used over the years to jog, bike, rollerblade which extends all the way to then of Newport Beach's Wedge to the south and Sunset Beach's to water tower
Now with the youngest one in college and Virginia retiring from Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach after 24 years. We always wanted to share our experience of living here with our friends and family. Our next goal was to use one of these units to do just that.
Virginia will serve as hostess and be available to help with any recommendations, suggestions, supply something you need or forgot.
There is also a garage used as a recreation room, filled with Use at your own risk Bikes, Boogie Boards, wagon, Beach supplies, Infared Dry Sauna

Why they chose this property
When we were ready to buy a place in the early 1990's, we wanted to stay in Huntington Beach.
I did alot of research looking for a place to buy. When this place went onto the market, and bought it the first day it was listed. It was a few blocks away from the beach, on a hill out of the tsunami flood zone. There isn't houses on the south side of the street, which benefits the views and extra parking. Walking distance to the pier and beach. Doesn't have the daily parking and crowd issues as the area next to the beach.
Now this area has become the hottest most newly developed part of coastal Huntington Beach.
It started with the Waterfront Hilton as the first hotel being built in the early 1990's.
The Hyatt Regency was opened in 2003 (which blocked my view of the ocean).
Just recently Pacific City ( an upscale outdoor mall) with the adjoining Pasea Hotel opened. This is a very popular area, premium go to spot, right across the street from the beach. This part of the beach also has fire pits, concession stands and a bike path.
Since I live here the complex has been well kept and taken care of. The average time my tenants stay is 10 years. We are still in the coastal zone.
