There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA

We had a wonderful stay at Howe House with a fantastic view!
All we could as for in a rental house
Hope to return this summer
Thanks, Ellen and Joe Rutledge
We loved staying for three nights at the cabin during the winter break. Very warm and comfortable passive solar home, quiet and peaceful location, and well laid out cabin made for a relaxing long weekend away. The wood fired hot tub was a big plus and it was a great experience to be staring up at the stars with piles of snow all around us. Thankfully we had a 4x4 vehicle with good all-terrain/snow tires on it otherwise access may have been an issue getting up and down the hilly roads to the cabin. Hope we can visit again soon.

Happy to have you stay! Come back and visit the Methow again:)
The house was wonderful. Very unique built. Loved the mountain modern mid century feel, massive natural wooden ceiling beams, large windows and asphalt, or not sure what to call it, flooring. It felt so good on the feet and I am sure they are very practical too.
Seems to me that the house was designed to control the temperature naturally, it did work, the temperature in the house was great, not hot not cold, maybe we just hit the perfect temperature season, but no complaints. The house was clean and well stocked with dishes, we had everything we needed. We had dinner outside every night, love that wooden dining table, the views from the house are nice. There is a bench just up the hill to enjoy sunsets. My husband and I went up there, and he whispered "oh look, a bear, and it turned out to be a cow :)))) in the neighbors field. Wish we enjoyed the house more, i didn't discover how nice the hammock was until our last night there. It really is a nice setting, cool and fun house. Though we spent most of the time hiking and driving around. Mazama is the closest town to some really nice hikes. We did Maple pass, it was great, heard some marmots whistling, the views are amazing. Went to Blue Lake and saw goats with their baby goats, did the Ross dam, Thunder Knob. The weather didn't cooperate for Easy pass, (maybe next time) but it is also closer to Mazama then the other side. Loved the western feel of Mazama and Winthrop, highly recommend this house or if not available at least this side of the mountains. We did go to the West side and it just wasn't as special. If we ever come back I would love to stay in this house again and maybe come in July to see wildflowers in bloom.
Really exceptional place for a relaxing getaway. Incredibly well designed and efficient. Stylish and attractive without being too posh, which was perfect. Location is ideal for peace and quiet, amazing views, & great jumping off point for hikes and other activities. Design & passive solar kept it cool even when it was in the 80s in the valley. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Great location for upper Methow Valley exploration
Peaceful, natural setting within easy access of highway 20, minutes from Mazama and Winthrop. Just 1 hour to North Cascades National Park. The earth bermed construction makes the house very quiet and comfortable. Beautiful view! Everything we needed for an easy, relaxing get-away.
If you appreciate beautiful views and a unique place to stay then don't look any further! Howe House is situated above the Methow and Mother Nature in all her glory is right outside your door!
