Absolutely wonderful place to stay! We did not want to leave. It was close to the university and everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive and gave us some great ideas of places to eat to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. The place was well-equipped and felt like home.
My mom, uncle and I were looking for a place near my cousin's home and we scored with this one. Great location, nice place and convenient to everything. Thank you!
We all enjoyed our stay at this cute Ann Arbor home. If was comfortable for our adult family of four. It’s conveniently located near restaurants, downtown, grocery stores, UMich and has good freeway access. The home is in a beautiful historic neighborhood and although it is on a main road the home is quiet inside. We rented a full size SUV and I found it easiest to back in the driveway. Wonderful home, great location, would definitely stay again!
Great location for our family of 3 couples to celebrate a U of M graduation. We enjoyed the backyard after the ceremony and the lawn chairs were helpful . Perfect set up for all of us and extra parking just across the road.
Love this home. Quiet area.! Great location!! My favorite part was the heated bathroom floors!! We will be back same time next year!! Hope it’s available!!
House was nicely furnished and well heated for our winter stay. Communication with Stan was excellent. Getting out of the driveway was not difficult since there were plenty of breaks in the traffic. We would gladly stay here again.
Beautiful home with plenty of room. It rained most of our stay so we couldn't enjoy the back yard or the bicycles. The property was as described and a quick walk from downtown. Thanks for a great stay!
The house was perfect for our family stay. Close to everything & had what we needed. The host was friendly & communicative. Just needed someone to give the okay, when traffic was clear to back out of the driveway onto busy road.
As soon as I walked in it felt like home. Everything that you would want or need made for a delightful stay. The house was close to downtown shopping and restaurants and near grocery stores as well. So we were able to enjoy home cooking too. The University of Michigan was near so we were able to take a stroll on the campus.
Checked the boxes for cleanliness, communication, distance from places we wanted to visit, easy check-in, 2 bathrooms, pleasant and cozy. While it's a five-star overall, I'll add an "*" for street noise that started at 7am both Friday and Saturday mornings. Everything was excellent with the home and with the host!
Thank you :)
We moved to Kansas City last and haven't seen the grandkids for almost a year. The house allowed each grandkid to have their own room and they had a separate bathroom. My daughter came over from Jackson and we had a family meal and played Uno before my wife and I left to come back to KC. Thank you, everyone had a great time.
Nice quiet stay, property was as described and even a bit bigger in person than it looked in pictures. We had some minor issues with stuff in the house but Stan was very communicative and responded quickly, although it couldn't get resolved during our stay. As mentioned in other comments the street is busy but not a problem as long as you have someone watching your blind spot.
Check in was easy, and the kitchen is very well stocked with spices (more than I keep at home!), pots and pans, and cooking utensils! The selection of board games, puzzles, and activities was a nice surprise as well (we played a lot of bananagrams) and the Hulu subscription being included on the TV was a great touch. Very comfortable appointments for 8 adults! Super close to everything in ann arbor, we never had to drive more than 15 minutes to do what we wanted to.
4.5/5 only because we couldn't get the couch bed to go back together into a couch, and the rooms got a bit cold at night! I would absolutely stay here again, it was otherwise fantastic. Can't recommend this property enough!
We stayed at the Charming Family Home to be close to the University of Michigan as we were in town to move our son into his first year of college.
The house was everything we needed. It is conveniently located near the University - about a 15 minute drive. The driveway does pull out onto a fairly busy street, but as another guest mentioned, it was easy to navigate - the stoplight down the road offers ample time to get in and out of the driveway.
It was a hot week, but we were cool and comfortable in the house. The backyard was really cozy - especially after a pretty fierce thunderstorm cooled everything down a bit.
The house is packed with pretty much everything we needed - well stocked kitchen and pantry including three different ways to make coffee - Keurig, auto drip and pour over. And for tea drinkers - lots of options.
The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the rooms relatively quiet. We didn't have any trouble getting to sleep at night. The house in nestled in a sweet, beautiful Ann Arbor neighborhood.
We had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. This was an incredibly lucky find for us.
Thanks Stan!
The vacation rental was immaculate. My husband, 4 year old, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the home, and loved exploring the city of Ann Arbor. If you’re looking for somewhere quaint to stay, while still having room for privacy, this is the place for you! 10/10.
Keypad check in was easy and convenient. House was clean and provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay. I had to communicate with the owner regarding some lights not working and Stan responded quickly and got everything back on via text. Only negative was the busy street location and backing out of the driveway. But we dealt with it without any issues and enjoyed Ann Arbor as we always do. Thanks Stan!
Great place to stay in AA. The back patio was fabulous during this first real day of spring in 2022. It was perfect for two couples and we entertained friends as well so the patio was well used.
We planned a last minute trip to U-M to visit our son (student). Our reservation was accepted very quickly, which was greatly appreciated. The home was clean, tidy, and well stocked. The fresh flowers in the kitchen and bathroom were a wonderful touch and add to welcoming and homey feel. We enjoyed hanging out in the evenings with our son on the outdoor patio with party lights. The location was perfect as it is close to campus with easy access to the interstate. The communication prior to check-in from the owner was timely, accurate, and helpful. The home met our needs perfectly and we will definitely stay here again.

We both grew up in Michigan and have family in the area but live in Arizona. We wanted a summer home in Michigan (Go Blue!) and rent it out the rest of the year.
Why they chose this property
The location is convenient to downtown and shopping areas in the Old Westside. It has a great fenced-in backyard for relaxing, BBQing and entertaining. The kitchen is very clean, modern with all new appliances and cookware. The bathrooms are recently remodeled, clean and modern.
What makes this property unique
Location and just how nice the kitchen and bathrooms are. We also provide four bicycles to our guest to help them explore the area.
