What an exceptional stay close to all main attractions . The cleanliness of the cottage was first class and the extra surprise of tea and hand cooked scones was such a lovely gesture. I would highly recommend The little barn cottage to family and friends. Thank you
Well appointed with plenty of space for us and our dog and a great location for visiting West Cornwall. Nice doggie walks from outside Little Barn, especially down to Prussia Cove and along to Perranuthnoe.
We havn't expected it to be that nice. The barn in excellent shape; rich flora surrounding, very calm. And nonetheless, our host was very friendly.Thank you England! Meinolf and Monika from Germany

A lovely well appointed barn conversion.
The barn was lovely, clean and well furnished, it was very quiet and peaceful. Unlike a lot of converted properties in the area, it was easy to get to from the main road and was within easy distance of a lot of places to visit. I was very disappointed however by the description of the property, which was to say the least inaccurate. I had planned a holiday to visit friends and family during the day and catch up with some tv and stream some music in the evenings , but that was not possible. There was no mobile signal whatsoever and no landline either. The wifi was an extension from the nearby owners property and just wasn't reliable af all. There was a booster and if you sat within a few feet of that then you could sometimes get a signal, but nowhere else in the property. The speed when you could connect was about 4 mbps, definitely not the 24 mbps advertised ,so no good for streaming or downloading. I felt very vulnerable as the phone didn't work in the bedroom. A lovely place but entirely unsuitable for someone on their own.

Little Barn was spacious
Generally we had a great stay at little barn. Nice decor, good size and well equipped. Down sides were..
2 loo rolls not enough for a week
Lots of tea and coffee but no Sugar
Shame garden wasn't secure. We would have loved to have had the French doors open and the dogs allowed to roam.
Sofa bed broken so wouldn't fold out flat. Out 7 year old spent the week on a mattress on the floor (which she fortunately loved). There was a single fold out bed but only a double duvet so it would have smothered our girl. I'm sure Dan would have offered further help if asked but as the floor option was ok we didn't persue.
Would we return? Yes. But we would have to bring loo roll and a dog tether!
Thank you.

Thank you for your review Richard and I am glad you enjoyed your holiday. Sorry there were a couple of things you were disappointed with, I just wanted to clarify a couple of points:
The Sofa bed mechanism isn't broken, it just doesn't fold totally flat. It is for occasional use and children only. A single duvet could be provided if one preferred to use the single fold out bed.
We do state in the details that the garden is not and cannot be dog-proof, sorry if you hadn't seen this.
Sorry you were disappointed with number of loo rolls and lack of sugar, the property is a self catering property so whilst we try to provide the basics we do not guarantee providing enough for the duration of your stay. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding here.
Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you enjoyed your stay overall.

Thank you so much for your review of The Little Barn, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay!

Hi Inga, thank you for your review, I am so glad you enjoyed your holiday and this magical part of Cornwall. Sorry the bed wasn't as you expected; it is listed as a double, which is a standard size in the UK. So glad Amanda was able to help you with the sofa bed though!
With best wishes

Little barn is idyllic in every way hopefully will back very soon thank you to Amanda the owner for useful local information this is a very beautiful part of Cornwall with lots to do and see absolutely beautiful!!
The little barn is a lovely, well thought out, barn conversion, close to coastal and other hiking trails and good amenities.
It's a tucked away, quiet spot, yet very easily accessed and well placed to explore all of the south cornish coast.
We found it very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, with everything we needed in the property.
Having such a lovely host as Amanda was a bonus.
Many thanks
The communication before arrival was very good. Amanda and Dan were very welcoming. The accommodation is excellent and on a great location. Would highly recommend this cottage.
Nice property but a few changes would improve it ....
1. A king size bed ,the double bed was uncomfortable.
2. A larger tv,no one watches TV on a screen that small anymore.
3.A barbecue, if the weather had been better would have liked to cook outside.
4.The Packet Inn has London priced drinks.....£8 for a medium glass of wine! ....should be renamed" The Making A Packet Inn",but the pubs in Goldsythny are good.
The Barn was a perfect little hideaway, superb location for a quiet retreat but close to all local areas and amenities. Lovely touch of a cornish cream tea on arrival. Definitely recommended and will stay here again
The cottage was very homely with lots of character. It was well equipped, although we found the TV somewhat too small. Having hearing problems, we used the subtitles function but had to sit extremely close to see them. The broadband was also erratic, yet we noticed that there was fibre in the area. The bed, though smaller than we are used to, was very comfortable, although we would have appreciated blackout blinds in that room.
We very much appreciated the little extras for when we arrived.
Overall the cottage was lovely, nicely presented both inside and outside. If it had been within walking distance of amenities it would have been almost perfect.
We have just had a week in this lovely property which is well kept with tasteful decor and a homely feel.. It was very clean and well appointed and warm and cosy to return to after a day of exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.

Lovely property but...
Great property in lovely location but no Wifi apart from unreliable intermittent connection. Also in these worrying times of Covid we were told late check in and early check out to facilitate deep cleaning. We were impressed and reassured our safety was being ensured. This clearly hadnt taken place.....generally not over clean crumbs etc but oven was filthy and bins not emptied from previous guests and the bags we were told to put sheets in on departure were missing..
Told owner who explained cleaner had been in unsupervised at changeover as they had been away...well at best a quick clean had been done...but that was doubtful. This has left us feeling cheated and put at risk from Covid...
Shame as it is a lovely lovely property

Hi Shirley - Thank you for your comments, I am glad you liked The Little Barn. In response to your complaints, which we have discussed since your visit; please be assured the Little Barn was cleaned well prior to your stay, all the surfaces were correctly sanitised and at no point was your health put at risk. I believe the issue with the oven was caused by the cleaner spraying the oven with the correct cleaner but then mistakenly not cleaning it off properly - this was a mistake for which I and the owners have apologised. The recycling bins were also overlooked, again apologies, but just to emphasise these were external bins NOT internal ones. The owners did also offer to deal with your recycling but your husband chose to put it in the bins anyway. As recycling is only removed every two weeks in Cornwall it is not unusual for previous guests recycling to remain in place until collection; this does not pose a health risk.
As far as the wifi is concerned, I understand that the owners Amanda and Dan were on hand to assist and checked a few times, connecting their own devices successfully whilst in the property? They have taken your complaint seriously though and have purchased and installed a new booster which is now working efficiently in The Little Barn.
I am sorry that you have only rated the property with 3 stars, we have received such positive reviews from previous guests and I want to assure you and all future guests that all the correct procedures, as detailed to you when you booked were carried out. Once more I apologise for the few oversights, this is a lesson learnt which will not be repeated. It would have been so much easier if you could have addressed the cleaning issues with the owners face to face whilst in the property, it is always much easier to deal with and rectify that way.
Wishing you all the best.
Kind regards
Phay
We spent a lovely week in this beautifully presented, well kept property in a tranquil setting, just what we needed for a break away in a home from home. Spotlessly clean and felt very safe from the threat of COVID-19. Perfect!
Perfect location for accessing so many lovely places we wanted to visit going either north, south, east or west!!!!The quietest place we have ever stayed. The lovely small private courtyard garden to sit in and have breakfast is at the back. Late afternoon and evening sun is In the front where there is a bench seat. Parking is right up close to the house which makes it easy for off loading on arrival and packing up when you leave. Inside the open plan living, dining and kitchen area is much bigger than expected so plenty of room for 2 people. Really nicely furnished. Very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this lovely converted barn and would love to stay there again.
We’ve stayed in lots of cottages/properties over the years and it was the little extras and special attention that made this property stand out.
Great location, clean and well equipped, the bread and jam on arrival was very welcomed after a long journey, as was the milk in the fridge. We found the property relaxing and spacious enough for the two of us plus the dog. The location was great but preferred to drive to walk the dog rather than walk locally, although we did find some local walks. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
