The host was excellent at communication and very helpful. The location is very central and the space is on the smaller side but if the weather cooperates, the outside space compensates!
This is an adorable and homey vrbo rental. Very close to Highlands Main St for breakfast and dinner and shopping. Easy to get to waterfalls. I was dropping my daughter off at camp and we stayed here 2 nights and had a perfect visit. Would stay again!
This is our third time staying at Carole’s place and we’ll return again. Perfect for 2 people. We love dining on the screened porch and sitting by the outdoor fire pit after a day of hiking. Very close to downtown Highlands and restaurants, shops, entertainment. Very quiet immersion in nature but with all the luxuries. Our favorite place to stay.
Great location as it was a very short drive into town and to the grocery store. Some steep turns and roads to get to the house but once we got there, we really enjoyed the screened in porch and the space in general. Carole was quick to respond to the one question we had and the checkout process was simple with clear instructions. Thanks for the hospitality!

Property listed as "totally private guest house" but is really a basement with other renters living above which you can hear. No heat except 2 portable heaters, shower curtain liner covered in mold and mildew. Not horrible, but certainly not worth $300/night.
Porch is lovely. Good location. Property is attached to another home which I do not like. No window curtains so felt a little uncomfortable and light came in the bedroom in the morning. It is decorated modern, but very uncomfortable furniture. If you have to work on a computer as I did, there is no place except the kitchen island and stools were too high.
Carole was extremely communicative and called when I wasn't able to find the check-in information. The space was cozy and we definitely used the fireplace! The kitchen was well stocked for basic cooking, and everything was clean. We wold definitely come back!

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Very convenient location. The “cottage” is actually the basement of a house, but it was private. It could really use some TLC,a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. It has a very damp, musty smell. On the positive side it does take pets and is convenience to town is great.
Loved it!! The apartment is very comfortable, clean and located close to town. The fireplace and fire pit make for a relaxing evening inside and outside.
This property was perfect for my husband and me. We also brought our small dog with us. The weather did not cooperate with us, but we took advantage of the large screened in porch and enjoyed breakfast and coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the late afternoon. The Highlands has wonderful restaurants, so make sure you visit them during your stay. Carole the host was wonderful and answered any questions we had. She made sure to inform us about the area and things to do.
Was very clean and warm and cozy. The house was fully stocked with all the essentials and was quite, but near town.Carole , the host could not of been nicer and helpful. Would definitely go back again.
This property was perfect for a couple's weekend getaway to Highlands. It was close and easy to get to town. The property was nicely appointed for our stay. The screened in porch was our favorite feature, which included a sitting area as well as a dining table.
The guest house is conveniently located, not far from town. Has a wood burning fireplace which is very cosy. I did not realize it is actually the downstairs/basement of a larger home. It could use a spring refresh, the toilet seat is very loose, there is a water leak stain in the ceiling, and some holes in the walls. The kitchen trash still had the past guests trash and food in it. Bedroom ceiling fan light does not work.
The home was in a quiet neighborhood with a circular road that allowed for walking. We took our dog with us and she loved it! The cottage was perfect for two people and a large dog. We enjoyed the nearby dining and shopping and hanging out by the fireplace. It was too chilly to use the outdoor fire pit but would be great in milder weather. The screen porch has a lot of seating also. So perfect !
This Highlands home was perfect for our weekend at the Food and Wine Festival:) Such a beautiful and cozy mountain home in a quiet neighborhood! Carole was super responsive if we needed anything at all, which we didn’t, but she checked on us to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be back here, and also check out Carole’s other listings!
We enjoyed the screen pirch and surrounding woods. There was a plumbing issue, but the host was very responsive. We would stay here again. My only suggestion is to provide wine glasses in the house.theho1vresponsive. Wohere again ( 1

Wonderful stay in Highlands. Just 4 mins drive into town. Peaceful setting with great porch. All the modern conveniences
Great property very close to town (5 minutes). The screened porch is amazing. Very spacious with living and dining areas. The property is well appointed, although I will note that there is no dishwasher. That was not an issue for us as we dined out most afternoons and evenings. I would stay there again. The property and neighborhood was very dog friendly. Highlands also has a very nice dog park that is easy to get to from this property.
Lovely, quaint cabin in the mountains. Great location! Very small, but all we needed. Carol was very accommodating even offering early checkin and checkout and supplying wood as temperatures were to be in the 20’s!
