About this property

Blue Ridge Parkway Mid-Century Mountain Cabin

Seeking a private mountain getaway? Look no further. Situated on 1.5 acres, this 775 SF cabin offers nostalgic charm with modern amenities. Roast marshmallows outdoors while listening to the rushing creek down below. Enjoy a wood stove & fully equipped kitchen. Just minutes from the lovely Little Switzerland, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt. Mitchell, Emerald Village, waterfalls & river tubing. Located between Asheville & Boone. 11 miles from Penland.

Guests have access to the entire 1.5 acre property. As you pull into the drive you may have the opportunity to view bird song and blooming flowers in the Spring. The whole space brings you back to a bygone time reminiscent of a novel set in midcentury Appalachia. The cabin itself is incredibly charming with a strong sense of place.

As you enter, you will simply feel at home with our log cabin hugging you with welcoming decor of boho chic. You will see the living room at first and then notice the rest of the cabin, as it is open concept.

The kitchen and dining area share space. The trundle bed is just past the living area on the left. Wonderful view of the grounds with a bay window in the dining space, inviting lots of natural light.

Just past the kitchen is the bedroom with a door for privacy from the rest of the cabin. The bedroom is fully equipped with linens and extra blankets. There is a private bathroom attached to the bedroom. Bathtub and shower combo.
Towels and basic toiletries are provided.

Feel free to adventure outdoors as there is a quaint seating area with table and chairs, BBQ grill (propane). Can you smell the marsh-mellows brewing? Yes, there is a fire pit as well.

There are many enticing activities nearby. Emerald Village gem mine is one the most picturesque views in all of WNC and it’s only 2 minutes away! There's even an ice cream parlor there. Waterfalls are another huge reason to stay here. The cabin is situated half way between Crabtree and Grassy Creek Falls, making it an ideal location for folks seeking these healing waters.

Winter Months:
To reserve the cabin in winter months, you must book for a minimum of 7 days. Winter months are defined as December 1st - April 15th. During this period, we as owners incur additional heating and winterization costs. Therefore, guests are responsible for paying an additional $150 fee to cover these costs. The half bath and laundry facilities are not available during winter months due to the potential for frozen pipes. All Kitchen and Master Bath plumbing is well-insulated and will function as usual. If making a reservation during this period, please indicate that you approve this $150 "seasonal fee." We appreciate your understanding.

Please ask about local attractions. We will be happy to guide you in the right direction.

Great little get away cabin
Host was very helpful with our questions and check in was a breeze. It's secluded and private but right beside the road. It's pretty close to lots of things to do for adults and children. Would definitely stay there again.

Quiet mountain cabin
Great cabin in the mountains of NC. It is very private and quiet. Amenities listed for this cabin are exactly as stated. Just no safe place to go for a walk from the cabin due to curvy roads.

My partner Joe and I self manage our 4 listings. Joe is originally from Maine and I am from Florida. We met in the middle and have chosen to live primarily in Asheville, NC. On a seasonal basis, we reside in Florida working in the field of waterway conservation. We have a sweet daughter who keeps us on our toes! We are both environmental masters graduates with Joe having studied Solar Technology and Outdoor Leadership and Tefa with a Green MBA & Master's in Sustainable Community Leadership.

We take pride in creating spaces that feel like a home away from home and attract repeat guests. Since we are both passionate about natural waterway conservation and the environment, we offer tips to guests about how to access pristine areas and enjoy them in a way that does no harm. These rentals are opportunities for us to educate guests about conservation and eco-tourism.

We hope you enjoy staying with us!
