My daughter and I stayed here during a horse show at TIEC. The location was lovely and while the house was old and smelled a little musty, it was fine. We unpacked, then left to go to dinner and the show grounds. When we returned, the keyless entry would no longer work and we were completely locked out. The property manager wouldn’t answer our calls, so we called the people listed as maintenance providers and told them what was happening. They kindly drove the 20 minutes out of the way at almost 10pm to help us find the hidden key. They were wonderful- property “manager” never called back. Once we finally got back inside, the master bathroom shower was gross and mildewy, so my daughter and I used the shower downstairs as it was much cleaner. However, the basement had dirt and leaves all by the downstairs door leading outside, as if someone tracked in leaves and dirt from walking inside. I also discovered that the basement door was unlocked (maintenance guy never went to the basement door, so I assume that it had been unlocked since we had gotten there). Would have been helpful while we were locked out, but two women in the woods alone and I got freaked out. Everything was fine, just a careless mistake, but it felt like a lot. The final thing was the fridge. Either the door doesn’t seal properly or the cooling element has gone out because I lost an entire order of groceries. Everything was spoiled and rancid smelling and I couldn’t figure out why until our last night when I went to get a drink and the fridge was warm. I’ve emailed the property manager, but who knows if they’ll respond. There are so many nice places to stay in that area that are cleaner, less dusty. I’d look somewhere else.

I am really not sure where this anger is coming from. We list multiple numbers for assistance on our welcome sheet so if property manager not available, assistance is still readily available as this was the case. The lock out issue is not something that comes up or is readily avoidable as the batteries sometimes die at the worst time and not predictable. House was cleaned that morning and lock worked fine. Sorry it happened but was handled efficiently. I did communicate with Kaila. She does not mention the $150 refund I gave her on the spoiled food which was caused by overloading of the refrigerator door so it would not close properly. Overall, I am sorry Kaila had issues but they were dealt with late at night by staff (the maintenance people work for the PM) as designed when the PM may not be available. I believe this rating and review do not accurately reflect the visit. Things happened and were dealt with. I do think once something goes wrong, people sometimes start looking for issues and this seems to be the case as we never heard of any other issues mentioned until after her visit so no opportunity to discuss or respond. During the visit, nothing mentioned about the cleanliness, the downstairs door unlocked. It is also important to note that we have a Super Host designation on all our properties which signifies the cleanliness, maintenance and service provided for the houses. This comes with a lot of effort and work. We are not perfect but strive for a great experience for our guests. Please make sure to read all reviews
The house was beautiful and very clean. The projection TV downstairs was a hit with the teens. We loved looking out of the windows every morning and seeing the deer in the yard. It is a great quiet family for family.
The check in process was a breeze. The property manager, Boyd Booher was very responsive when and if I needed help. The house was very clean and well stocked. Enjoyed the sauna, the hiking trails and creek that runs behind the property. My only gripe is, there aren’t any TVs in the bedrooms.
