We were up fishing and the place was great. Plenty of room for us all and the best part, parking our rigs was so easy.

It is a very cute house and very roomy and had well stocked kitchen. I thought the yard was great! The air conditioning is a problem because it is not central air and the 2 west side bedrooms do not have any air conditioning and get very hot. The east side room the air conditioner fell out of the wall in the night and it got really hot and then it fell out again the next day and my husband had to fix it. I think people should be told about the air conditioning especially when the rent in the summer when it is so hot.

Dated but lots of space
The accuracy of the online listing was a bit deceiving, as the house is no longer the color that was shown in the online photos. The home had plenty of space and the check-in process was easy. The house had been closed up for some time and smelled musty upon entry. The beds were comfortable, but the bedding must have been on the beds for quite some time, as it smelled very musty. The water smelled very strong of sulfur, so it made showering and general water use very unpleasant. The common spaces were nice size and the kitchen was well stocked with commonly used items. The air conditioning units in each bedroom were a necessity, as most of the bedrooms are located upstairs. It would have been nice if the house could have been opened up and had the air going upon arrival, as I think it would have helped to take the humidity and musty smell out of the home.
This is a very homey property where you can relax and be comfortable. The directions were clear and the only thing we had to do for check-out was take out the trash. There was an initial snafoo with the cleaning company, but it was quickly and graciously addressed by the host. Have stayed at this property twice and would stay again. Some work is being done on the home - it appears wjndows or frames are being replaced.
Very convenient location for our needs. The house had everything we needed for our family getaway. Large yard to play outdoor games, nice fire pit and very large porch area for our family to gather together.
We rented Matt's house specifically because it had direct access to the Soo line ATV trail. We have young and inexperienced riders in our group and didn't want to cross big highways to get to the trail. It was perfectly located. We were able to ride our ATVs across the yard through a short wooded trail and up an embankment directly to the trail. The house is located right on hwy 27 two blocks from the cute little town of Wahkon which has a couple small bar/grill places, a gas station and the Veterans park with a small but very clean and sandy beach. Drive another 5 minutes to Isle and you have Father Hennipen state park with a bigger beach, a grocery store, bowling alley, bakery and cute shops. Matt's house was clean and roomy with 3 bathrooms which was very nice. We had a really great time!
My sisters, mother, aunt and nieces rent a place near Mille Lacs yearly and this was another winner. Right on highway and super close to lake if that's what you want. Perfect rental for our needs.
Wahkon and Isle are cute little towns to see.
Loved the deck and green space. Perfect for our family weekend get away, right on the trail system. Clean. Matt answered all our questions promptly, very accommodating.

I am a resident of Minneapolis and work full time as a real estate agent. I love the outdoors and spend my free time in the summer out on the lake and the winters on the trails. Why they chose this property
Whakon is a wonderful place to retreat to if you are looking to get away from the city. The home sits on 5 acres and also connects directly to the soo line trail at the very back. Since the soo line connects to thousands of miles of snowmobile trails and offers endless opportunities for biking, cross country skiiing and more it is a great option for summer and winter activity. As a lake town, fishing is also a huge draw for this area. Down the road at Izatys you can rent pontoons and sailboats if you want to enjoy the water and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a few miles to enjoy.
