Stay in one of the few private homes close to the Monteverde Reserve!

Originally built by a Costa Rican family, our casita is traditional in its construction, with modern touches added over time.

*Relax in the hot tub, which is covered and can be enjoyed in any weather.
*Enjoy the convenience of a short 10-15 minute walk to Monteverde Reserve, Hummingbird Garden, and Cafe Colibri (coffees, sandwiches, pastries).
*Short drive to amazing restaurants.
*Close to Curi Cancha Reserve, Children’s Eternal Rainforest, Santa Elena Reserve.
*Also close to Monteverde Cheese Factory.

The property underwent major renovations in early 2019. A large sunroom was added across the front of the house, and the kitchen and bathroom were completely gutted and expanded.

Wear yourself out hiking the reserve or flying across the valleys on a zipline. Then come home to relax in the hot tub. We are close to the woods, and get forest animals and birds in the yard almost daily.

Our cottage features two bedrooms with a queen bed in each. Plus a full size pull-out couch in the sunroom. The bathroom has double sinks and a large shower.

Have coffee on our covered patio where you can relax on comfortable benches, the hammock, at the table, or in the hot tub, and watch nature.

Lovely home in the woods

This is a cozy spot surrounded by trees right down the road from Monteverde. We had a little trouble finding it, but the host was quick to reply and help us. We found the place clean and tidy, nicely decorated, and spacious for our family of 4. We’ll stay again if we come back to the area.

Great location and house

The house is within walking distance to the preserve and is very comfortable. We did not cook in the kitchen but it was a nice size. The hot tub was fun, you just need to plan ahead for filling and heating, and make sure the drain is fully sealed. The owner was excellent with communication. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Cutest Little House in the Forest

We stayed in Casa Verde for 3 days while we explored Monteverde. I love the location as it was away from the town but relatively close. We could walk to the Cloud Forest (make sure you get your passes first though). The house itself was well stocked, although it could have used a heat source as it was pretty cold at night. We took advantage of the hot tub which was a nice treat after our day hikes. Highly recommend checking out El Tigre Waterfalls and Selvatura while in the area.

The place was cute and had everything we needed, it was perfectly fine. Only issue we experienced was the hot tub taking much longer to heat than expected, though there's a chance we did something wrong.

Fabulous cloud forest home.

We loved everything about our stay except that it was too short! House is nicely tucked into a forest like setting and steps away from the Monteverde Preserve. Easy drive into town where we had fabulous meals at Stells & The Orchid House. The house is far more spacious than it looks in the photographs and very cozy. Huge windows looking out into the yard and a covered porch. We did not cook during our stay but the kitchen is very well appointed. Lots of linens/towels and a HOT shower! The owner was very responsive to all of our communication. I would highly recommend a stay here!

We were totally enchanted by this home, which was more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures. You should note that it is very far from downtown Monteverde but walking distance from the Cloud Preserve. A cab from town is about $12 and there is a cab stand downtown where it’s easy to catch a cab. If you are renting for the hot tub you should know that there are lengthy instructions. The instructions are easy enough to follow, but we chickened out and just relaxed in the very comfortable bed

Perfect home near Monteverdi

Absolutely loved this charming home near Monteverdi Cloud Reserve! Ed and Deanna definitely have everything to make your stay comfortable. We arrived to several oranges and fresh baked banana bread on the counter…thank you Sonia! The kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed to cook many of our meals. And even plenty of cozy pillows and blankets. The WiFi worked great. I personally appreciated that there was not a television. My kids played many games with us every evening. We spent our days hiking nearby at Monteverdi Cloud Forest, Curi Cancha, and El Tigre Waterfalls. We loved El Tigre the most. We also did the free tv/radio tower hike where an ornate hawk eagle sat before us on a tree! Definitely felt fortunate to catch a view and photo of him. The hot tub was perfect way to relax after a day of hiking. We loved the home and its location…thank you again for sharing it with us.

Decent place for the money

This house worked out well for our family of five. The location is very close to the Monteverde Reserve as well as Curi Cancha, and Santa Elena is about a 10 minute drive away. The beds were comfortable, wifi worked great, and the kitchen set up worked fine for making breakfast. We didn't use the hot tub because it has to be filled/emptied for each use. I enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the hummingbirds. The property is small but well landscaped, with forest nearby providing lots of cool nighttime noises. The local manager promptly helped us resolve a plumbing issue, but she doesn't speak English (Google Translate helped). The short driveway is quite steep but we managed. Overall, not fancy but it matched the description and pictures, and we liked it!

Lovely house, walking distance to Monteverde cloud forest!

This house was very beautiful, as well as clean and cozy, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The fold-out couch bed was very comfortable, as were the other two beds. The kitchen was pretty well-stocked and we were able to cook a few meals while we were there. They could use a few more sleeping pillows, but that is really the only thing I can think of that could be improved. The hot tub was awesome! We would defintely stay here again!
