The Bonner House is located about a 10 min walk from 9 mile and Woodward, a very vibrant downtown Ferndale, hosting a variety of unique restaurants, shops, bars and more. Get out and explore all that this colorful, charming community has to offer. Foodies, many incredible selections! Nightlife, yes! No matter what your scene, you’ll find it here, live music, dive bars, theatre, pool, axe throwing(yeah, we have that), karaoke, dancing etc. More? Royal Oak, Hamtramk, Detroit a short drive away.
My smoke free, pet free home offers a very clean, comfortable, hippie/artist meets pottery barn vibe, complimented with frangrant sage to ward off any bad juju and just a splash of weird for good measure. Enjoy your morning coffee/tea, read a book or take in netflix(no binging;))in the charming, intimate living room area. Sleep soundly in one of two newly furnished bedrooms including cozy queen size beds, brand new high end mattresses, super thick mattress pads, and lots of pillows! The additional “bed” is a shorter futon located in the living room, for whoever draws the short straw;)There’s also a private fenced in back yard, a great space to spend an afternoon or evening outdoors.
I offer self check-in , but if you prefer, I can personally check you in and show the house, answer any questions etc. when I’m in town:)You’ll have access to the entire house and backyard. Open floor plan, hardwood floors through out and works from various local artists add to the charm and appeal of this very clean, clutter free, comfortable home. Help yourself to some fresh fruit or select from many tea varieties. New coffee maker, coffee grinder, French press, and coffee are provided for your convenience. Take a nice hot bath or shower under the bonus sized shower head. Forgotten toiletries, we’ve probably got you covered, blow dryer, curling iron, wand, flat iron, razors, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, body wash, lotion, bath salts, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash to name a few. Enjoy a good book or movie in the cozy living room area. Brand new dishes, pots/pans, and utensils, welcome you to prepare and indulge in a home cooked meal, the basics, oil, butter, salt and pepper and a generous selection of condiments are provided. Get some fresh air in the spacious, fully fenced in, private back yard, my neighbors wind down at around 11pm so please keep it down or take it inside at that time of the night, thanks.

Wonderful Place

Great location, quiet street, clean, funky decor which we loved. Owner left us mini muffins and drinks - much appreciated. Well stocked kitchen if you want to cook meals. We needed to contact the owner for one small issue and she was there in minutes and so helpful. We were extremely pleased and highly recommend this Ferndale property.

I have stayed at over 50 places and I never had a better experience. Noel was great. More than helpful and even drove us to Ford field to see the Bills play! Plenty of necessities we’re available like bottled water, snacks, a chocolate tray, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste ect… Made us feel like we were home. Cute little town. The # 1 thing was the mattresses. Omg they were more comfortable than at home. We will go back to this home just to stay there again. Thanks for the best experience ever..

Noel's house was everything she descibed and more!

We felt so lucky to have found this house in Ferndale, 15 minutes outside of Detroit. Everything we needed was close by, in a cute quiet neighborhood. Our communication with the owner was quick and detailed for an effortless stay. The house comes with many unexpected amenities, Noel really makes you feel at home in her cute cozy house. We arrived in single digit temperatures with a warning from the electric company to keep residential dwelling temps at 65 degrees. She had a radiant heater going and a big cozy heated blanket out for our comfort, although the temperature limit was lifted before we arrived. The house has a big yard with a privacy fence surrounding it. The queen memory foam mattresses were a dream to sleep on. We would definitely book this property again, if we ever make it back to Detroit. 💜

Wonderful Stay

The property was cozy, clean and had everything we needed for our two week stay. The bed was very comfortable, which made for restful nights, and the backyard was perfect for some relaxing time in the sun with a glass of wine. Communications were easy and helpful. I highly recommend this lovely home.

Charming cottage style house

This 1950 bungalow was very charming, had very comfortable beds. The comfortable furniture in the living area were appreciated. The decor was unique and carefully thought out. My host had a completely outfitted kitchen with some beverages and snacks awaiting my arrival. The location was very convenient to a plethora of restaurants.

Fantastic Ferndale Home

Noel was the perfect host. The house was clean, comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. We loved the location; just walk to the town of Ferndale and enjoyed exploring the unique shops and restaurants.

Little extras are a nice touch

Noel provided lots of nice touches and extras. Plenty of snacks, beverages, and fruit. There were also lots of bathroom supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, rubbing alcohol, bandaids, etc.) so do not worry if you leave something behind. She was quick to respond to any inquiry and even provided another sound bar for the TV when the existing one did not work properly. Because we fix a good deal of our meals, would could have made use of a few more pans. The only additional note that I would make is that the memory foam mattress was a little too firm for our taste and caused my husband and I some discomfort, but that is a personal thing and someone else may love it. Thanks Noel for the opportunity to visit with our friend in such a safe neighborhood.

Noel delivers

Noel's house and neighborhood made a good trip to the Detroit area a great trip. The house and yard were as advertised and Noel provided a few little extras (like her lovely fruit bowl) that just made you feel good. Plenty of street parking and a nice yard and everything you need just a short walk away. Easy to jump on the freeway and really felt safe and welcome in Ferndale, even went over to a garage sale across the street. You are in good hands with Noel. I will definitely stay again if I get another opportunity to visit Detroit.

Amazing home away from home!!!

We traveled to Detroit for 10 days from Washington state for our sons National bowlines g tournament. We needed a place centrally located to accommodate multiple bowling alleys in different cities. Noel’s Ferndale house was beyond perfect from, location, convenience, comfort and a variety of things to do. The house it self is absolutely adorable, beds so comfortable, tons of amenities and Noel herself was beyond amazing to talk to. She was incredibly helpful from pre travel questions through check out and everything in between. We couldn’t have had a better experience. We only hope to come back and stay again soon.

Cute and comfortable house in Ferndale Michigan

My husband and I travelled to the Detroit area for a family funeral/ memorial service. We looked at a variety of places to stay that was centrally located to family events and to enjoy the Detroit area. We came across this cute little house in Ferndale and were charmed by it. We enjoyed our stay and we were very comfortable. The beds and linens were so comfortable and we slept great every night. For us, having comfortable sleeping accommodations is the most important part of any decision we make regarding whether we want to stay at a place or give a good rating. We also appreciated the extras items we could use such as toiletries that we forgot to bring. Noel was thoughtful in the variety of items available (even bandaids). There are games to play for the family and plenty of fruit to eat. The living room with it's cute green leather furniture also made our stay comfortable. After a day at the zoo or memorial service we could sink into the chair or sofa and just relax. The neighborhood was very quiet and the location of the house was so easy to get to where ever we wanted to go. Thanks Noel, Karen and Norm

Hello, my name is Noel. I’ve lived in Ferndale for over 10 years now, and I really love this city, the community, and all that it has to offer. I’ve worked in fashion for many years, mainly so I’d have an excuse to weekend in NYC from time to time, another one of my favorite cities. I surround myself with artists, makers and other inspirational folks, and one Debbie downer, he’s funny as hell tho, so I keep him around;) I strongly believe in law of attraction and walk the walk. I just started offering my home to guests recently and I’m loving sharing my space with so many creatives and interesting people, so bring your good energy and enjoy!

Why they chose this property

This is a terrific home, with tons of charm, and appeal. I went all out on the beds, bedding etc to assure a very comfortable sleep, so you are fresh and well rested for the adventures that await. If you’re here for work, well damn it! Try to at least have some fun while here tho, Ferndale is too great of a city to miss out on! My home also offers a full kitchen and supplies, a laundry room with washer and dryer plus supplies. Plenty of towels and wash clothes.. There are books, games and movies for times spent inside, and a fully fenced in backyard and brand new deck with patio table/chairs and a bbq grill, to enjoy a nice day or evening. The neighborhood is wonderful, and pretty centrally located, only a 10 minute walk to the fabulous downtown Ferndale! So that’s just a little summary, come check it out for yourself!

What makes this property unique

It’s nice to be close enough to walk downtown, yet far enough away, to get a good nights sleep, location location;). I live in Ferndale and have for many years, so I’m very familiar with the area, tho, it seems a new restaurant, bar, brewery, gallery etc is opening every other month, I’m sure I can still make great recommendations if requested.Other unique aspects I guess would be the few fun little pieces of art displayed around the home. Oh, did you request quirky, well I like frogs, and you’ll find them around too. Ha, no live ones, don’t worry;) Many of my guests have mentioned that any time they needed something, they were able to find it, so yeah, I try to provide as much as I can think of, to make your stay enjoyable.
