da Big House, 2 blocks from Lake Superior, near Pictured Rocks, Trail Access.

This property is located in the town of AuTrain and is only 15 minutes from Pictured Rocks. Take a 5 minute walk to AuTrain Beach and enjoy the river or Lake Superior, or to just catch the sunset. The AuTrain River empties into the Lake providing early season swimming. This house was stripped down to the studs and completely remodeled top to bottom inside in 2019.

Space is plentiful for large groups of families. With accommodations for up to 12, this house is a great place for people to get together and enjoy the area. The property has a 6' privacy fence enclosing the entire back yard. There is a really nice campfire area setup to enjoy the outdoors and relax after a long day of exploring. There are 5 bedrooms with (2) king's, (2) queens and one (1) full bunk. There is a futon in the lower level for additional sleeping. Amenities include a washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully stocked kitchen with equipment to cook for 12 guests. All bedding, linens, towels, paper towel and toilet paper, gas grill with propane, garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and softener as well as coffee filters for our regular drip coffee maker. We don't provide toiletries. If this place doesn't have it, we will get it for you.

There is WiFi, three TV's, and a free canoe/kayak rental is included. (discounts for additional canoe/kayaks is available) The garage is available for your use as well.

Yes, kitchen was well equipped and had a totally fenced in back yard so it was very pet friendly. Nice location. Right across the road from a little gas station/grocery store, 2 blocks to the lake, and close to the trails. Would stay there again!

Everything about this stay was wonderful. Our whole family was able to be together under one roof and there was plenty of space for all of us. Au Train beach was fun, only a short walk. The property owner/manager were wonderful and super kind & helpful.Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Da Big House

This home was a perfect place to hang out during the down time of our vacation. All 12 of us (9 adults & 3 kid's) fit comfortably here. There is a gas station, small shop and beach all within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again!

Great place!

Our group of seniors enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home. We were close to our trip on a Picture Rocks boat tour and know there were many more experiences available, but didn't have the time to experience them! Would recommend the facility for a group of family or friends.

Da Big House Delivers!

Cory was super great to work with! When we arrived, we had forgotten a high chair/booster seat for our toddler... but Cory brought one over! House was well equipped with everything you would need (we used the Griddle and Crockpot). Big table fit our group of 7. It was perfect for snowmobiling with an attached garage and close to Trail 417. Beds were extremely comfortable (2 kings are memory foam). Space Heaters were a great addition in the lower level bedrooms. Wifi and TVs were great. Appliances are nice and new! We cannot wait to book next season! We love Da Big House!

Hidden Gem

This property was absolutely perfect in every way! The beds were super comfy with an abundance of pillows and extra blankets. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and several different types of spices, along with coffee and filters. The living and dining room/kitchen area was open-concept and great for visiting, meals, and playing games and watching TV. The deck had a sitting area and grill and the backyard boasted a fire pit with plenty of chairs. We rented for the Northern/Michigan Tech football game and it was awesome for some much-needed extended family time. There are plenty of ORV trails right near the rental and the beach is a super short walk. There is a cute store with many different types of foods (fresh soups, breads, pizza, etc.) and even a deck of cards since we forgot ours right across the street. A true UP hidden gem! We will definitely be back!

Perfect location in the UP

Stayed with My wife, kids, and some of their late teen friends. We were fortunate to have 2 days near 90 degrees and the beach (5 minutes walking) was a welcome addition to the stay. The house was more than perfect for the 8 of us and we even had a bedroom left over. Everything in the house was great, although a second key would have been helpful since the kids were usually going separate directions from the parents. There was more hiking within an hour drive than we could ever hope to complete. During our 5 days there, we did 3 hikes totaling 18 miles. Also worked in an 8 mile Lake Superior Kayak along Pictured Rocks. The charming town of Munising (and the edge of Pictures Rocks) was a short 20 minute drive. For a larger city experience, Marquette was about 40 minutes drive. The small grocery across the street is also loaded with anything you forgot to pack, ran out of, or if you need a quick Pastie. The UP is incredible, and Da Big House is right in the middle of everything.

A nice spacious house on 2 levels with nice size bathrooms on each. Plenty of supplies for the amount of days we were there. Great location for going both east and west along the coast doing outdoor activities. Great grocery store just across the street that makes the best pasties in Michigan!!! Host was very helpful in directing us to places we asked about and did so promptly. Would definitely recommend this house.

Great location to all Pictured Rocks tours and Au Train kayak rentals. Walk to ice cream, groceries, gifts and more. Lots of room for parking. Four couples stayed here with plenty of room. Grill, deck, fire pit, outdoor games-all great! Beds are comfortable and water was hot! Beautiful area! We will be back!

2025 snowmobile trip

Great place to stay for our group to go snowmobiling. Corey is a great host, had a plumbing problem and Corey let us put our things in the house and got the problem fixed promptly.

Snowmobile trip with friends

Corey is a great host who answers your request right away if need be. The house is great! Lots of rooms with queen and king size beds with solid bunk beds. We loved relaxing on the big couch watching a movie on the big living room TV. We also loved playing cards on the big table and making our favorite meals with friends. This house has great access to the snowmobile trails. The trails were not groomed and in bad shape due to a bridge out and not enough groom machines but this has nothing to do with the host. He is great and the house is clean and relaxing and lots of rooms to spread out. Even though the trails were bad, just being together with friends was great! There is plenty to do in the area if you decide not to ride like casino’s and good places to eat in Marquette like Italian restaurant and Road House and a trip around the Lake Superior and a great house to fit lots of family and friends and play games. We had so much fun. Corey made sure that we had plenty of room to park our trucks and trailers. Lots of towels, toilet paper, paper towel, beds etc. This house, host and cleaners are great!! Plain and simply, I am a Yooper. I live locally year round and am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to exploring our area. I graduated high school and college here and I am an avid outdoors-man, I camp, hike, bike, kayak, ski, snowshoe, ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile and Jeep nearly the entire U.P. and if you have heard of it, chances are I've been there, or done that. I also know some places 'slightly off the radar' if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas. Just ask, I'll be happy to give you advice.

Why they chose this property

I was a transplant to this area during high school years ago and left then came back. I couldn't stay away forever, this area is unlike any other. Sure there are beautiful places all over the country, but no matter where you are from, this place is special beyond words... My family and I moved here in 1995 and my mother lives here to this day. She is renting it for the summer months and will move back in during the Fall. I own/manage 9 other properties here in AuTrain and have done so since 2009. Since that time, I have been providing people a great place to stay, and the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful area.
