Great place to stay for our group to go snowmobiling. Corey is a great host, had a plumbing problem and Corey let us put our things in the house and got the problem fixed promptly.
Corey is a great host who answers your request right away if need be. The house is great! Lots of rooms with queen and king size beds with solid bunk beds. We loved relaxing on the big couch watching a movie on the big living room TV. We also loved playing cards on the big table and making our favorite meals with friends. This house has great access to the snowmobile trails. The trails were not groomed and in bad shape due to a bridge out and not enough groom machines but this has nothing to do with the host. He is great and the house is clean and relaxing and lots of rooms to spread out. Even though the trails were bad, just being together with friends was great! There is plenty to do in the area if you decide not to ride like casino’s and good places to eat in Marquette like Italian restaurant and Road House and a trip around the Lake Superior and a great house to fit lots of family and friends and play games. We had so much fun. Corey made sure that we had plenty of room to park our trucks and trailers. Lots of towels, toilet paper, paper towel, beds etc. This house, host and cleaners are great!! Thank you for having us Corey
Our group of seniors enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home. We were close to our trip on a Picture Rocks boat tour and know there were many more experiences available, but didn't have the time to experience them! Would recommend the facility for a group of family or friends.
The house is well appointed and comforatble. The location next to the store and walking distance to the Lake made this especially nice. Would definately return.
Location is easy to find and provides quick access to nearby attractions. Convenient little market nearby for forgotten items. Owners provided a comprehensive and helpful binder of information on all nearby points of interest.
Great accommodations and location for a summer family vacation. Lots of room, clean, quiet and comfortable. Great location! Close to the Au Train river and across the street from Da Kayak Shop and grocery store. Walking distance to Lake Superior. We will look to stay again
Da Big House was the perfect location for our annual family vacation with my sister in law & her kids. Ample beds, less than perfect WiFi which led to many card games :), nice fire pit for s’mores, & just a great location for exploring the area. We were minutes from the splash falls/pictured rocks tour in Munising, 40 minutes from Marquette where we enjoyed the Wright Street falls and jumped off Black Rocks. Just over 2 hours from Mackinac Island. We booked the shorter Au Train River kayak excursion & then played on the beach afterwards. The house is great & I cannot stress enough that it’s in a great location to explore the area from. Bonus gas & surprisingly well stocked grocery store across the street. In addition to a pastie, pizza, sandwich, & ice cream shop just a few doors down the street.
Everything was clean and pleasant, but would have been much better to have footstools, or even one large footstool so people can put their feet up after a long day. The beds were very comfortable, also.
Great vacation home. Well stocked with appliances, dishes glasses and silverware . House is totally remodeled and very clean. Would recommend this place to anyone. Will return next year
This is our 3rd or 4th time staying at Cory's "Da Big House" and we will be staying again! This home has everything we need for a sledding trip to the UP. Close to the trails, plenty of parking, nice beds, and space for everyone. Cory is a great communicator and as usual, extremely helpful! Book it!
We actually had a great time in Au Train on a planned ski weekend that was snowless. Great space for 5 adults, two teenagers and two dogs. The location was actually perfect - maybe even more convenient than right on the lakeshore. Cory took care of two minor issues we had immediately. Would stay again without question.
The kitchen was well stocked for sure. We had plenty of towels and toilette paper. When we called for additional paper products and towels they were delivered promptly. There is plenty of room for up 10 I'd say without using the futons for sleeping. There are a couple of futons but who really wants to sleep on one. The living room furniture could use an update but it was adequate. I read past complaints about the floors being dirty. Just to let you know every time you come back in the house you are bringing lots of sand with you so just sweep the floor daily. There were 6 of us, all adults, and we really enjoyed our stay at this house.
My wife and I along with some of our friends decided to go up north to see pictured rocks and the fall colors. We wanted a spacious and comfortable place to stay and this place fit our exact wants. It was so spacious comfortable with amazing amenities. The host was welcoming and responded to any inquires. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice home. My friends and I will most definitely rent this property again for future adventures!

Plain and simply, I am a Yooper. I live locally year round and am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to exploring our area. I graduated high school and college here and I am an avid outdoors-man, I camp, hike, bike, kayak, ski, snowshoe, ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile and Jeep nearly the entire U.P. and if you have heard of it, chances are I've been there, or done that. I also know some places 'slightly off the radar' if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas. Just ask, I'll be happy to give you advice.
Why they chose this property
I was a transplant to this area during high school years ago and left then came back. I couldn't stay away forever, this area is unlike any other. Sure there are beautiful places all over the country, but no matter where you are from, this place is special beyond words... My family and I moved here in 1995 and my mother lives here to this day. She is renting it for the summer months and will move back in during the Fall. I own/manage 9 other properties here in AuTrain and have done so since 2009. Since that time, I have been providing people a great place to stay, and the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful area.
What makes this property unique
This house is big and accommodating! it's only 2 blocks from Lake Superior, Pictured Rocks is only a 15 minute drive, waterfalls are all around, the river is warm and sandy, the snowmobile/ATV trail is just 2 blocks away, fishing nearby, kayaking opportunities within minutes away, so many more......
