French Country Cottage

Welcome! Our beautifully remodeled cottage is located on the property where we live, situated in an area first developed by the timber barons of the Northwest. Conveniently located just a mile and half off of Interstate 5, but worlds apart! Close proximity to JBLM, Thornewood Castle, Pacific Lutheran University, Chambers Bay, The Tacoma Country Club, American Lake, Gravelly Lake and Lake Steilacoom. The property is very private and secluded, but is just a mile and a half to Safeway, Starbucks and local restaurants...perfect midway point for travelers wanting to enjoy Seattle and Mt. Rainier...cottage and grounds have been featured in movie scenes, catalogs and commercials...

The cottage is a stand alone building located next door to our main home, but is its own private oasis...safely tucked back behind a gate, with plenty of safe off street security lit parking for our guests. Perfect for single travelers with safety concerns...

The cottage features a Queen sized bed upstairs and a beautiful Restoration Hardware Queen size hide a bed downstairs. Coupled with the memory foam topper provided, it’s pure comfort...the newly remodeled bathroom - with shower, is located upstairs but, can be accessed without seeing the guests in the upstairs bed...there are two smart t.v.’s - one up and one down...

The cottage features a newly remodeled and fully stocked kitchen and your own private patio.

We allow 3 guests for our nightly rate, but can accommodate a fourth guest for an additional $40. per night.

The Cottage is magical! The setting is serene, comfortable, and absolutely gorgeous. It is very easy to get to restaurants and shops and the water. They have some local recommendations printed out, and I followed a notional itinerary suggested going through Steilacoom, Ruston, and Gig Harbor, these did not dissapoint. Great place to stay and a great host!

Like something out of HGTV. Beautiful location on a slice of garden heaven property. The cottage was equiped with everything one could need for their stay, anything you dont could be acquired in mins at the close shopping options. The one bed one bath small home has a full kitchen that we made meals from. The host is friendly, accomodating, responsive, and leaves little framed notes all around the stay to answer what im sure are FAQs. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again when in the area.

Husband, as we walked in the door: “We hit a home run with this place!” Indeed we did. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, in a spectacular garden setting, and easy to find. The best mattress I’ve ever slept on, aside from home, with luxury linens. Treats and fresh half & half in the fridge. The flour sack kitchen towels made me smile…one of the many special touches you’ll find. We’ll stay here whenever we’re in the area!

Hi Nancy! Thanks for being great guests! The cottage and parts of the house were in a (not very good🙂) movie called Hearthrob…a catalog company shot still photos here, but I can’t recall which one…a Multicare commercial was shot here as well - they were in the cottage and gardens - I used to see the commercial on t.v. when I was slogging it out, working as a bartender…THAT was a very surreal experience…😂

Beautiful Cottage

Such a beautiful property with lovely gardens and a fountain that welcome you to a tastefully updated cottage. It was very comfortable, both in looks and furniture. We had a conference, so we were not there long, but what time we had was private and accommodating.

Heaven on Earth

Wonderful stay in a very private setting. Full 2-floor home apartment set in a garden atmosphere in quiet Lakewood neighborhood. All amenities thoughtfully provided by hosts. Felt very welcomed to their home setting. Will stay again next time in town.
