About this property

Twinberry Wood ~ Uniquely Charming Chalet Log Cabin on Wooded Hillside

Experience the charm of Twinberry Wood, a custom designed, chalet-style log cabin nestled into a redwood and fern-lined hillside.

Built in 1994, it has all the modern amenities we've grown to love while honoring the tradition of timber construction of a bygone era. Original artwork adorns the walls while the windows and porches show you the magnificent greenery of the outdoors. BBQ and hot tub year-round on the main deck off the kitchen and dining area. With flat screen TVs in the living room and master bedroom with an expansive DVD collection, Disney +, a foosball table in the living room and a custom cedar hot tub on the back deck, you may not want to leave the house!

If you do want to explore the area, river access is roughly 2 minutes' walk and ample opportunities to browse shops and graze restaurants and wine tasting rooms in downtown Guerneville less than 5 minutes by car.
You may see Sheila, the pea hen, perched in a tree or on the deck and look through the sliding glass door. While dogs are welcome at Twinberry Wood, we ask that they be very well behaved and respectful of Sheila. Thank you for understanding that this is not the home for dogs with a strong hunting drive.

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Twinberry Wood is 7 people. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: There is parking for 3 cars: 1 in the carport, 1 in the driveway in front of the carport, and 1 in front of the house on the street (designated for this home). The driveway is a bit steep but paved. Street parking is scarce, and areas not designated for parking are needed for guests and neighbors to turn around. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Heat Source: This house uses a Nest thermostat for the central heating system. Guests are welcome to use the wood-burning fireplace, but firewood and kindling is not provided.

A/C: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the nighttime temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house.

Location: Twinberry Wood is in a cozy residential neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to only park in the carport, driveway, and designated parking spot and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and the local community!

Road to Twinberry Wood: The house is located up a narrow one-lane road. It is a two-way, one-lane hillside road - partially paved. No special vehicle is required. We provide detailed written driving directions to confirmed guests.

Stairs: There are two sets of stairs at the house: one section from the parking area to the front door and one interior set of stairs from the main living area to the upper floor where the bedrooms and full bathrooms are located.

Work from HERE: A desk space built into the bookshelves in the Queen bedroom also has an office chair and monitor with cables to connect.
Advertised Wifi Speed: 75 MB/s download; 5 MB/s upload.

Fencing: The yard is not fenced, but the decks are fully enclosed.

Proximity to Wineries: Porter-Bass Winery is 3.6 miles from the house.

Super place to stay with friends and family.
This is truly a wonderful house. We enjoy dusty very much. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see Shirley, as we were looking forward for a visit from the peahen. So we have to come back :-)

Great Place
This was a great place, neat layout, fun games - just a few issues. Some of the sliding glass doors and/or screens didn't lock or work well. Hottub had an odor to it, but its also wooden, so that might be expected.

Wonderful group stay in a gorgeous home
The photos really don't do this place justice. When the 7 of us arrived at the home, we were greeted with a wonderfully and very thoughtfully crafted and decorated interior. Every single room was a treat. Spacious living room and kitchen, a hot tub that fits 5 people, a huge collection of DVDs and literature, and beautiful, cozy bedrooms. It was idyllic, and served our wine weekend perfectly. The peafowl visited us, too, curiously following us up the road, although we weren't lucky enough for her to pay us a visit on the porch. Really happy with everything; would definitely recommend this to friends, as well as come back with a great group of people.

Stunning cabin & great stay
What a gorgeous property! It exceeded our expectations in every way. The kitchen is very well appointed and cooking here was a treat. The cabin has gorgeous touches throughout and is extremely well maintained. Would love to stay again!

About the host

Hosted by Russian River Vacation Homes

Host profile image
We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.

Our Story:
In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.

Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.

We strive to make each and every stay the best one ever. If you have any questions or concerns about reserving or staying with us, please don't hesitate to contact us! We are here to help.

Why they chose this property

Guerneville is the largest town on the Russian River, and has a variety of excellent restaurants and shopping. There are many wineries within 15-20 minutes. Guerneville is also home to the amazing Armstrong Woods, and it's just a quick drive out to the coast! Guerneville is a fun and free spirited town that makes for a great getaway!

What makes this property unique

Calling all nature lovers! You will love periodic visits from Sheila the pea hen who stops by most afternoons to perch in a tree and land on the deck and look through the sliding glass door.
This home is close to everything, but you'll feel like you're away from it all. The cedar hot tub is a special treat. You won't want to leave!
