About this property

JBs Alaska Getaway Log Homes by Kenai River, Cook Inlet Sleeps 10, 4 bed 3 bath

JBs Alaska Getaway is beautifully situated between the Kenai River (approx 2 miles away) and the Cook inlet (approximately 3 miles away), and 5 minutes from downtown Soldotna and Kenai. You are just off the main road to Homer as well!
Gorgeous custom Log homes that can sleep up to 10. Perfect for a family reunion, or friends and family getaway.

The space

These homes were the dream of a custom builder from New York. They were built as his permanent home! He put so much care and talent into each detail. All the carvings and custom furniture you see he built! We hope that you will love and respect this beautiful piece of art as much as we do! If you want to do more than sleep in Alaska, but truly experience Alaska, this is the place for you!

Guest access

You will have both homes, plus the freezer in garage, and ability to store you fishing gear in the garage. You are not allowed to do any fish processing on the premises!! If it is found that processing was done, you will forfeit your deposit. We would be more than happy to refer you to amazing fish guides who will process for you, or reputable businesses in town that can do it as well. You are welcome to keep your packaged fish in the freezer in the garage until departure.

There is also a washer, dryer and dvd library in the stone entry area of the main house.

Other things to note

We observe quiet time from 10 pm to 8 am as this is a residential area, and need to respect others who live in the area. No parties or events are permitted.

Please be aware that there are security cameras on the exterior front and back of the home to protect the house when it is vacant. No cameras are located inside the home, so cameras can only see what your neighbor can see.

Great Place to Stay!
We really enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us. This home was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The owner was very quick to respond when we needed her. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Excellent Log Home Vacation in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula
This log home complex exceeded our expectations and we will definitely stay here again when we visit next year. We reserved both the main log house and the adjacent log cabin for our family to stay at for a week-long schedule of wedding events. Everyone had comfortable beds to sleep in, plenty of bathrooms to share, very nicely appointed accommodations, a fantastic main kitchen and bar area with tons of bar stool seating for everyone, and a full kitchen for everyone's convenience in the smaller cabin (not so small, actually). The upgraded decor and appliances were fantastic (you'll love the pro-chef gas stove and ovens). And the owners bought an additional freezer chest for extra food items that we purchased to have on hand for the wedding festivities. I can't say enough about how responsive and accommodating the owners Becky and Jerry are. They ensured our stay was perfect. Book either or both of these cabins if you plan to visit the Soldotna area. You'll love your stay in this Kenai lodge paradise.

Excellent Property, Excellent Host!!
There were 9 of us that stayed here comfortably. All guests were thrilled with the accommodations. The overall experience was wonderful. Becky was an amazing host and very quick to respond to questions. The kitchen in the main house is an awesome gathering spot, with enough space to prepare food for the entire group. This house is a perfect Alaskan getaway for a large group. We hope to book again next year! Thanks for an amazing trip Becky! We hope to book again next year.

Overview of Property
This property deserves better than a 5 star rating! There were 7 of us in town for a wedding and we couldn't have been happier. The cabins are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable. Plenty of outdoor seating and great grill. The kitchen has every cooking utensil you could ever imagine. Plenty of dishes, silverware and glassware. All and all, we would stay there again in a heart beat!

We visited Alaska in 2001 and fell in love. We talked and dreamed about owning our dream home there one day. We made more trips, and continued to "dream" about "someday". In 2018 we decided it was time. We traveled from our home in Southern California, and found our dream home in Soldotna , Alaska. We think you will agree after staying there that this place is unique and so very beautiful . We plan to retire there in a few years, but for now, we want to share it with others. We hope you enjoy.

Why they chose this property

We dreamed of owning a Log home some day. The moment we stepped into the property, we knew "this is the one". The previous owner was a custom builder who spent 15 years building his "dream" home. He spent hundreds of hours hand carving the pieces you see on the property, implementing antlers, and unique Alaskan details in all that he did. He built and carved the pieces you see on the property, including the oak leaf and acorn cupboard pulls, antler door pulls, the benches and even the carvings outside. He spared no expense or ignored no detail. It is truly a piece of "Art".

What makes this property unique

Not only is this a beautiful place, but it is a wonderful location. Centrally located of "K-beach", the road that takes you to Kenai, Soldotna, and Homer. You are just minutes away from the Kenai River and the Cook Inlet for world class fishing. Homer and Seward are a beautiful 1 hour and 45 minute drive away. Moose frequent the property, and in spring, momma moose often come to the property behind the house to have their babies.
