This property was perfect for my family. Clean, spacious, easy in and out, and communication with the owners was easy and always helpful. I would recommend to friends and family, and would stay again. Location was convenient to food and a beautiful view.
We enjoyed our stay with our family in this charming Lake Rabun house! It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was very accommodating.
Beautiful, warm welcoming homey feel. Perfect for family gathering. Large kitchen and dining area. Easy to get to various falls and trails in the area.
Thank you for such a lovely place, so glad we found this gem at last minute! We stayed for 2 nights, but enjoyed the nearby restaurants and the view to the Lake. Scotty is an amazing host, left us eggs from their hens which we enjoyed at breakfast! We will definitely return!
A wonderful stay in this sweet lakehouse was just what was needed! Lake was quiet during this October booking. Close proximity to great restaurants a plus. Thanks so much!
Incredibly charming historic cottage close to lake (but no direct access), perfect for large group of family/friends and accessible for those with mobility issues. Easy walk to Lake Rabun hotel, Max’s Lakeside and marina. Be sure to book boat rental ahead. Close to great hiking.
This property is beyond charming and had everything we needed. From the books, records, and memorabilia within to the sound of the stream immediately adjacent to the house it was by far the most interesting and delightful stay we've had. It's location overlooking the lake and the meandering Lake Rabun Road added to its appeal! We've look forward to our return.
The house is very charming, you can see alot of thought went into the decor. There was plenty of room for the ten of us, and the beds were comfortable. The locals were friendly and helpful.
Great Location, clean house, thoughtfully decorated. Our group had a wonderful time. Lots of seating spaces and outdoor areas. Walkable to restaurant/ bar. 5 stars !
We loved our experience at this classic lakehouse. The home was beautifully decorated and retained its charming, historic character. Our family of 4 stayed with 2 other families with children on this trip - The kids loved having their own space upstairs and playing football/soccer in the side yard while the adults enjoyed playing games in front of the gas fireplace in the evening. We also loved looking at the beautiful antiques throughout the home and cooking in a well-stocked kitchen.Easy drive to Tallulah Gorge State Park, Angel Falls, and some other waterfall hikes. We also grabbed pizza from Max's across the street one night, which was a great option to avoid cooking. Would highly recommend this property to groups of friends or families with children!
This house was classic "Lake Rabun" with tons of character and the location can't be beat. It was perfect for our groups consisting of two families with 4 kids between the age of 1 and 6. The hosts were very reachable and eager to please, but we didn't have to bug them much because everything was so well prepared in advance for our stay. We hope to stay here again next summer.
The house is beautiful.... you step back in time to this immaculate home!
Right a food the street from the marina, Louie’s pizza and Lake Rabun Inn.
Scotty and Jadon are terrific.... almost like your personal butler.
Can’t say enough good things!

Thanks so much, Brian! We always love having you! We especially love that you have enjoyed staying at all of our houses! We have another one on the way next to
The Bend. It is great that these houses are in walking distance from all the great things that Lakemont has offer! PLUS, being tucked away next to a beautiful mountain stream with woods behind and the lake out the front door.
We are so happy that you can enjoy it like we do! And, we look forward to seeing you back again soon!! I see you have already made another reservation! Thank you so much. Scotty and Jason
My family celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The Bend. Everyone loved this beautifully restored and decorated old Lake Rabun house. The dining room was the perfect place for a family dinner celebration with the house’s George Harrison LP playing in the background.
We explored the house and property with wonder, slept well, ate out, and spent a day boating on the lake without ever getting in a car. We loved hanging out on the patio in front of the house. At night the moon lights were magical. It is a special place.
This property is perfect especially if you are looking for an authentic early 1900’s lake house experience. The house inside is beautiful old wood paneling with hard wood floors. Full of antiques and interesting curios, beautiful paintings, lots of books and never ending surprises. The bedrooms are beautifully fitted with sumptuous beds and high end linens. Lots of windows that let in the natural light and beautiful mountain lake scenery. The bunk room is so lovely with its own sitting area and gas heater. Many games and books for kids were provided. ( I was with with 3 old grammar school friends and we actually fought over who would get the bunk room.) The kitchen is a dream with high end appliances and enough dishes, cookery and flatware to feed a small army. The gas range was amazing. There are lovely places to sit outside and with the babbling brook that runs right by the house, you will want to partake no matter the weather. This is truly a unique house that will make you want to never leave. Nothing has been forgotten for your comfort.

We loved this amazing historic vacation property. Despite its age the house looks great and has every amenity you can think of. The house comes with a grand kitchen and large dining room that can accommodate a large humber of people. We also loved that there are three king bedrooms in addition to a perfect 'kids room' with 5 beds (incl. 2 bunks). The house is fairly close to the road but Lake Rabun Road is pretty quiet, so we didn't have an issue with that. It's close to the towns of Lakemont and Clayton as well as to Tallulah River Gorge, Minnehaha Falls and Angel Falls.
Lovely old house- such fun to be there. Design of house given great care and thought and great for a big family with lots of different ages as there is lots of space for games and for cooking and eating.
