About this property
Luxurious Modern Cottage ~on~ Lake Burton
Modern luxury on pristine Lake Burton. “Sevenoaks” is a beautiful lake home fully renovated offering the best of Lake Burton and Northeast Georgia: launch your boat from the dock for a day on the Lake, take a quiet morning walk along Dick’s Creek just down the driveway, hike nearby Hemlock Falls off Scenic Highway 197, join the nearby trailhead of the Appalachian Trail just 10 minutes by car, visit the wineries in Tiger, or head into historic Downtown Clayton for antiquing and great Southern cuisine.
THE HOUSE:
Sevenoaks is a modern lake house appointed with all the details for the best mountain retreat on Lake Burton’s emerald green waters.
Sevenoaks sleeps 12 with five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Four spacious bedrooms in two wings on the main level surround the expansive A-frame living room with a wood-burning fireplace, ample seating, and a 100" flatscreen TV. The open kitchen off the living room has brand new appliances, a stone island for family meals, and a separate dining room. A metal and wood spiral staircase leads to the upstairs fifth bedroom (loft) overlooking the living room below and the wooded hillside out front.
Three all-new bathrooms include marble counters, Restoration Hardware faucets, Toto toilets, and natural slate showers. Relax and unwind in the primary bathroom after a day on the Lake in the slate wet room with a rain shower head, body spray, and deep soaking tub. Another main-level bathroom includes a private en-suite bath with a glass slate shower and marble vanity. The marble and slate hall bathroom is easily accessible to the other three bedrooms with a tub and shower perfect for multiple families and couples.
Primary Suite Bedroom: King bedroom with en-suite, including double marble vanity and wet room with soaking tub overlooking the boathouse, backyard, and the water.
En-suite Bedroom: Queen bedroom with private shower bathroom and view of the lawn and wooded front yard.
Lakeside Bedroom: Queen bedroom adjacent to hall bathroom with large windows overlooking the deck and water beyond.
Woods Bedroom: Queen/king bedroom convertible from a twin daybed with desk workstation.
Loft Bedroom: Two Full beds with one twin trundle atop a modern spiral staircase overlooking the living room and wood-burning fireplace.
THE LAKE:
A large sun deck with lounge chairs sits atop the boathouse, a deck with dining for the whole family and a grill opens from large doors off the living room, and a separate flagstone patio overlooks the dock with a gas fire pit perfect for an evening under the stars. Hours of fun await on the water from the dock: launch one of the two kayaks, enjoy a quiet cruise on the antique Sears rowboat, grab a raft to sunbathe off the dock, bring your boat along and tie her up on the dock after a day tubing and skiing around Lake Burton!
THE LOCATION:
Sevenoaks is nestled at the end of Dick’s Creek Cove on Lake Burton down a quiet canal of other homes and cabins with direct access to the Lake from the private dock. Dick’s Creek Cove opens directly to the center of Lake Burton with its stunning mountain vistas and iconic 4th of July fireworks display.
**Please note: Lake Burton lowers its water level each year during the winter months. The water begins to gradually draw down from Normal starting Nov 1 and reaches its lowest point by New Years Eve. Beginning Jan, the lake starts filling up and is back to Normal pool by at least May 1. Water is accessible for kayaks by March 1, however, during these months (Nov-Apr) there is limited or no access to the lake for this home and all homes around Lake Burton.**

Why they chose this property
I moved to Atlanta about 10 years ago, and fell in love with Georgia: the diversity and richness of the state with a thriving metropolis. The North Georgia Mountains and Lake Burton are unique assets to the state with natural beauty abound. This home helps to celebrate that beauty with lakeside access to the cleanest lake water in the South, incredible hiking trails, and close proximately to the local town of Clayton (or other small towns like Helen).
What makes this property unique
This home has Lake Burton access, but also the uniqueness of a quiet canal off Dick's Creek Cove. These calmer waters make it nicer for safe family fun on kayaks, canoes, or other watersports, with three separate outdoor seating areas (sundeck, deck, and flagstone dock with firepit).
