Was in Austin for 4 nights for MotoGP. The rental was good except for a few issues in the bathroom. The plug to the sink was broken and stuck in the plugged state. It took a while for the water to drain out of the sink. Property manager offered to come by and check it out but I declined since it was still usable. The hot water does not last long for the shower. The water went cold after 5 minutes so I was taking quick showers. When you flush the toilet, the water almost surges out of the toilet bowl. Other than that, I enjoyed the rental and the location.
The space was super clean and perfect for a weekend stay. It’s close to downtown and lots of walkable restaurants. The welcome packet with local recs was super helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!
I loved the location! I found lots of cool places within walking distance. Great restaurants, coffee shops and bars. The Wheel is really great and the honeycake at Sour Duck is memorable. There's everything necessary to sleep well and be clise to even downtown. I actually walked to the Capitol with one stop for brunch at a nearby place. I was also able to walk to church Sunday morning in case it's important for someone.Thomas' place is very cozy and comfortable. There were supplies in the bathroom and extra towels in case. I loved the mini fridge and microwave. Also there's a coffee maker with coffee.I would definitely stay again.Thank you for your awesome hospitality Thomas! My time in Austin was fantastic!
Overall it was as stated and suited our needs. Small & cozy, near bus stop and close to airport. If you are a light sleeper (I am) you should be aware of busy road noise all night long. I would recommend the owner reconsider the art choice above the bed since this rental is available to everyone and all ages.
Great location. Small but did what we needed. Only complaint was with the parking. There’s not a ton of space and if other guests are not considerate you can find yourself in a pickle. Over all this place was good. I’d consider it again if I ever go back to Austin.
The property is as listed. This is ideal for one person, particularly if you are going to be exploring and eating meals out (exactly what I was here to do). Kevin was quite friendly and helpful, he is the caretaker of the property. The owner was communicative, and easy to contact. There was a wash and fold laundromat less than a mile away, rhis was quite helpful. Visit Nixta if you stay here!
Everything met and exceeded our expectations. All interactions with the owner was excellent from the check-in to check-out process. This place was exactly what we needed to escape from our days activities of exploring Austin. Micklethwait BBQ not too far away is a phenomenal place and worth checking out.
The property was just as described. Very nice and clean. Host was very nice. The neighborhood is a gem and walkable. There is also a great running trail nearby. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Austin.
The place is as advertised. Small square footage (one room with bed and basics; bathroom; closet), but clean, quiet and comfortable. It also has all the basics: well stocked bathroom, linens, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot. There's a convenience store nearby as well as excellent mexican and bbq (Sam's bbq looks shady, but don't pass it by). The owner has a nice welcome binder with details. Easy uber or bus around town. I would stay again.
Just what i needed to visit my niece. Close to good restaurants, trails and more. Place was clean and Tom had some good communication skills which i Appreciated.
I was in Austin for a wedding, then attended the SxSW festival. This room is a bit minimal, but exactly what I needed and no more than exactly what I needed. The place is on the #5 bus line, which got me downtown, and the SxSW festival, in about 10 minutes. The shower is nice, the towels plush, bed comfy. I kept left-overs in the mini-fridge. The owner even re-supplied me with coffee when I ran out. The place was spotless. I used the little desk for my ipad and to eat at. Wifi was fast. For the first few days, I had an electric rental car and it turned out I could charge it in the nearby park, about a 5 minute walk away. I walked up to nearby Sam’s BBQ for a bit of excellent Austin brisket. If I come back to SxSW next year I’ll stay here again.
This place was small but it's perfect for 1 or 2 people. Too bad the weather was so cold that I couldn't enjoy the little deck. The TV didn't want to work and the owner tried to fix it and was going to replace it. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. Checking in was a breeze
I stayed here for an entire month, it was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. The location is also very close to downtown Austin, I could walk downtown in 20 minutes or so and could drive there in as little as 5 minutes. Great spot for those visiting Austin!
Stayed at Thomas’s Chestnut unit for a long weekend in June 2023. Minus the sweltering Texas heat and humidity, great weekend, mainly due to the great location of this unit. Mini-fridge kept our drinks cold and spot to put our leftovers as we overindulged everywhere we went. Great location!
If renting a car, be careful when parking as the guest parking spot is near paving bricks. Ended up with some scratches on our rental car.
It was a cozy place with everything you would need for a visit to Austin.
