Perfect place to stay!

The location was enough off of the major area of Main Street that it was quiet and not busy, but close enough you could walk if you wanted! Extremely clean and the pool and hot tub was a major perk. Highly recommend for a couples weekend or if having a girls weekend and don't mind sharing a King bed!

We were close to everything.. property was clean, the one thing I would suggest you change, advise people the bath soap is worthless, and bring bottle water, the water taste awful.

Very Nice

Had trouble finding it - don't enter "absolute charm" in your maps because it will take you to the business office and not where the cottages are. Owners - may want to highlight the actual cottage locations better in the messages and emails - I know it's in there but didn't dawn on me there were 2 addresses floating around. The AC unit was loud (other people we were with also noticed that so it wasn't just our room) but worked good. Great location, new, clean and pool was great.

Cozy Cottage

We loved everything it was comfortable had everything we needed. However the air conditioner is way too loud I had ear plugs in and still couldn't sleep while it was on. The bathroom and towels were first class. Very comfy bed and pillows. A night light in bathroom would have been helpful and maybe not see thru doors for those of us not with a partner. Very nice decorative feeling.

COLD GETAWAY

Perfect place for our getaway. The electric fireplace was a nice asset during the snow. Coffee was provided. It was clean and a great location. Could get our walks in easily.. Thank you!

Geese on the Gibbon

We had a great time while we were in Fredicksburg. The small cottage we had was nice. It had everything we needed. We could walk out of our room to the hot tub and pool. It was quiet also it was close to every thing we did.

Great stay!

Geese on the Gibbons was a very nice getaway for 3 nights. It was clean and cozy. Only 3 minor maintenance items that need attention--light out in kitchen, threshold broken into bath and window blind broken. I think these had been mentioned in a previous review.

Very nice and clean. Will definitely stay here again. Everything was clean, shower sinks and refrigerator. Just need to clean the floors better. We would get hair and lent on our socks. Overall a nice place to stay away from the hustle and bustle but not too far.

Loved the property!

The property we stayed in is one of a group of cottages that encircle a parking lot off main street with a fenced area for a shared greenspace, pool and hot tub. Geese on the Gibbons is in front of the hot tub, which we used two of the three nights. Perfect for November! It is a very nice oversized king bedroom with a kitchenette and sitting area by the TV. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of towels. The kitchenette had a few dishes, coffeemaker, microwave and dorm size refrigerator. It was perfect for a visit to Fredericksburg. We had no desire to cook! Everything was very nice, clean, and in excellent order. We would stay there again and recommend it without hesitation!

Cute cabin! Just a couple of observations: Bathroom sink on the left stunk every time we turned on the water & needs to be cleaned out. Couldn't open the blinds in the living room area. Would be nice to have more than 4 hangars. Finally, a larger trash can is needed.

No contact checkin made it super easy when we arrived. This was a cute and quiet property. We stayed Sunday - Friday and was very low key. Pool and outdoor area was cleaned every morning since there were droppings from the trees daily. Property is on Main Street but we would drive to the visitor center and then walk to all the shopping. This cottage style house was all we needed! Wish the room had a Keurig instead of a coffee pot but we managed! Great place to stay to get away and no kids was a perk for us since we left ours back home. Would definitely recommend.

Nice but...

The location was great. The issues were: 1. We didn’t even have basic cable. For the couple of hours before going to bed, really no options (faith based, local Austin and Spanish) 2. For staying several days, one trash can should be bigger 3. Laminate floor transfer to bathroom kept coming off 4. Grit/dirt on the floor from the first day. It may have been from the crushed granite parking lot, but we couldn’t wipe our feet enough. I hate walking with bare feet on a dirty, gritty floor. 5. Table between chairs had terrible rings on top 6. Coach light on porch didn’t work 7. Ceiling fan lights didn’t work with switch Good things: 1. Loved the soft, fluffy pillows. My head sank into them at night as if on a cloud 2. GREAT A/C! Nice and cold in our room at night! Just a lot of little things that, if fixed, will make the stay better.

Short and sweet stay!

We arrived in a Sunday evening and left early Tuesday morning so only there for one full day. Communication about check-in was good and easy to follow. We stayed in the “Geese on Gibbons” unit and it was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was just a kitchenette but everything you need for just breakfast. The bathroom has glass French doors so only stay here with someone you are really comfortable with. Only negatives but not a deal for us were the swimming pool needed a good scrub and I wish I had known how to turnoff our porch light. Cute unit in great location so I would stay here again.
