Wooded property with heated swimming pool, near the historic centre of Sarlat

L'ESQUIROL
3 km from the historic centre of Sarlat, in a quiet residential area, property of 6,000 m2, with wooded grounds and heated swimming pool.

The main house (140 m2) comprises :
- a lounge/dining room (with pellet stove) with a large 3 m long table seating 12 people;
- a kitchen opening onto the dining room with induction hob (6 rings) + 2 fridges/freezers + dishwasher + oven + microwave + utensils and crockery for 12 people;
- 1 ground-floor bedroom and 1 upstairs bedroom, each with 1 x 160x200 cm bed (with clothes hooks and storage space);
- 1 ground-floor bedroom with 2 80x200 cm beds (which can be combined to form a 160x200 cm bed) - with clothes hooks and storage space.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom (shower, washbasin, cupboards and WC).

An annexe (70 m2), completely renovated, located a few metres from the house, in the same property (access via several stone steps), has 3 independent, non-communicating bedrooms (individual exit via a French window), each with its own bathroom (shower, washbasin, storage space and WC):
- The dormitory: 1 room with 2 beds 80x200 cm (which can be combined into 1 bed 160x200 cm) + 1 extra bed (90x190 cm).
- L'entre-deux" : 1 bedroom with 1 bed 160x200 cm.
- La cachette": 1 bedroom with 1 double bed (160x200 cm).
These 3 rooms have air conditioning.

The terrace in front of the main house is equipped with 2 garden lounges (12 armchairs) and parasols.

The swimming pool is heated (May to September, weather permitting) and measures 11 m x 5.5 m. It is fenced and has a secure gate. Sun loungers and parasols are available around the pool.

There is ample private parking for several vehicles at the heart of the property.
The entire property is fenced, surrounded by large hedges and gated. The garden is sloping, with numerous stone steps.

Evenings not permitted. Very quiet residential area.

Baby equipment available on site: high chair, bath, mattresses, cots, fitted sheets.

Pets allowed.

Gas griddle (bottle provided) - Table tennis (rackets and balls available) - Table football (in the "Dormitory" room) - Petanque balls - Card and board games.

The price includes water, electricity, heating (including pellet bags), WIFI access (fibre > 250 Mbits), linen and towels and end-of-stay cleaning.

Rental possible for a minimum of 2 nights in low season.
Weekly rentals are available in high and very high season (mainly from the end of June to the end of August).

L’Esquirol is a gem! If you’re looking to stay in sarlat as a group then you couldn’t do better than this house. It’s beautifully designed, well equipped and spacious. Wonderful open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, with 6 bedrooms all en-suite. The pool area is just perfect and we spent a lot of our time there. A wonderful stay, would recommend.

Great home for a family gathering!

Our extended family spent a lovely week seeing all the sites nearby. 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms make it a really easy house to share! The large dining tables (on the patio and inside) were perfect for our large group to enjoy meals together.

The house and grounds are fabulous, with an outstanding swimming pool. All 6 bedrooms are very good, as are the kitchen, dining area and living room. It is a very comfortable place that suited our group of six. Location can't be beat, within minutes of excellent supermarkets and the Bio Coop. Beautiful villages, the caves are all within less than a half-hour drive.Korine and her husband are excellent hosts, very quick to respond to any of our concerns.All of us would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful

Check in was very simple with clear instructions. The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary equipment. Good WiFi and property access. Beautiful house, comfortable beds in all bedrooms, cot and high chair available. extensive garden, well fenced for our miniature poodle to wander without any concerns. Wonderful views from the pool and garden. Lovely pool with plenty of floats etc provided. Delightful host, would highly recommend this property.

great location from which to visit many of the beautiful sites in the Dordogne!

Very accommodating space for at least 11 people. Wide open kitchen allowing several chefs in the kitchen at the same time 😊. Karine is very responsive, and everything was clean and in working order. The only mild complaint was the weak internet signal.

L’Esquirol is a beautiful property that exceeded our expectations. Karine met us when we arrived and showed us around the place and made sure we had everything we needed. A Slice of Paradise

I can’t say enough about how special and wonderful Le Squirol is. The gorgeous vegetation makes you feel as if you are living in a lush garden. The house is stocked with everything you could ever need, is squeaky clean and comfortable. It’s well located to enjoy not only Sarlat but many surrounding towns. We loved eating and just visiting outside on the front patio snd, of course, spending time in the pool. I cannot think of a thing to improve it. It is perfect and our hostess the best!!!

Excellent property and supportive host.

This is a property that exceeds its description. It was clean tidy and much more impressive than it looked from the description. The grounds are extensive, the pool is superb and the interior is well decorated. The Aircon in three of the bedrooms was very useful in 30+ degree heat. It is worth noting that as described the main house doesn’t have aircon, but that will only be an inconvenience for a few days a year. As a host Karine was friendly and approachable without interfering in any way during our stay at the property. Finally we know this area well but hadn’t realised there was such good quality accommodation with 2km of the centre of Sarlat. An ideal base to explore from.

Wonderful property

We have had an excellent stay at l'Esquirol: the set-up was perfect for two families of five people. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable and the swimming pool was a great asset on hot summer's days. The owners of the house were very welcoming and helpful and provided great advice and tips on things to do in the area. The house is ideally situated on a quiet country lane, yet only five minutes by car from the centre of Sarlat-la-Caneda. The whole area offers a great variety of activities: we visited the Lascaux caves and their prehistoric paintings, the hanging gardens of Marqueyssac by candlelight, and the beautiful town of Sarlat. The canoe trip on the river Dordogne is also a must and gives a unique perspective on La Roque-Gageac and the imposing castles of Castelnaud and Beynac. The ten of us had a wonderful time and would love to come back to the gite.

La maison est spacieuse, bien agencée et très propre. Les travaux sont de qualité. La cuisine est très bien équipée. Chaque chambre a sa salle d'eau et ses toilettes. Karine est accueillante et prend un plaisir manifeste à accueillir ses hôtes. Nous y étions pour fêter Noël, et elle avait placé un sapin et des décorations au salon, c'était très chaleureux et nous a fair bien plaisir ! Nous recommandons cette maison sans réserve.
