Charming Cottage, Fresh Eggs, Friendly Pets AND Pet Friendly!

Stunning sunsets, views from the cottage of pastures with a sweet horse that loves treats, on our historic Virginia farm. Our cottage, located in a private setting, with an outside hot tub with beach towels and a Solo stove for easy warm evening fires. The Cottage has a king size bed, fresh linens and towels, fully furnished kitchen, beautiful bath with a jetted tub, free WIFI, & central air and heating.
History abounds with a Civil War incident occurring right here at the farm ask Betsy or Ed we are happy to share.
To get you started we supply half a dozen eggs from our chickens and a baked treat for your coffee. There is coffee in the cottage too. If you would like eggs to take home they are $2.00 per dozen.
We are Dog Friendly there is a $20.00 per pet per night fee, and they MUST be crated if you go out without them. Ravens Roost has in residence 3 dogs all rescues, 3 cats, 1 horse and 100 chickens.

Very peaceful place only 2.5 miles from Luray. Everything you need to cook a meal, a very comfortable bed, and a great view. I will most likely stay here again when I travel this way in the future.

I loved my stay! The cottage was clean and cozy, and being able to use the hot tub was amazing. Ed and Betsy and all the animals were welcoming. The cottage was especially beautiful during sunrise. A very peaceful environment to stay in.

Cozy cottage with amazing views

I've stayed in a lot of VRBO/AirBNB properties but Betsy really makes the Cottage feel like home. Great 180-degree views. Excellent location for hiking, sight-seeing, or just staying in.

The villa in Virginia

The place is just awesome for a couple weekend hideaway. The apartment was spacious and clean and had all the amenities if you wanted to stay in and cook. I highly recommend this place you wont be disappointed.

Amazing Weekend Getaway

Ed and Betsy went above and beyond for our stay. Incredible cookies were waiting for us on arrival and we had 6 farm fresh eggs in the fridge that we ate before a hike to Old Rag. If you’re looking for a unique and serene place with proximity to the Luray Caverns and Shenandoah, you have found it here!

My husband and I stayed at the Cottage at Raven’s Roost for the weekend and absolutely loved it! Ed and Betsy are wonderful people and the best hosts! We so enjoyed the country side and exploring the town and surrounding area. We hope to visit again soon!

Just perfect

We were in town to visit with our son and do some sight seeing. We loved the cottage. It was the perfect size for us and even had a small kitchen available. We only cooked breakfast a few times, with the farm fresh eggs that were given to us along with a small loaf of blueberry bread. After hiking in the Shenandoah park, the hot tub and fire pit were a welcome relief! We will definitely keep the Ravens Roost on our list for a revisit!

Warm and cozy

This is small cottage but you leave with warm and cozy experience. We truly enjoyed Betsy and Ed's hospitality. I found out they also run it as bread and breakfast. So we asked for breakfast and they provided breakfast for little extra money. I would have paid twice that. These are great people with good old values. The views are beautiful, mountains, stars, horses. We are definitely coming back.

The cottage and surrounding area was very comfortable and welcoming. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. The hosts are gracious and kind, easily reachable if needed, as they live on the property. We brought our dog and she was able to play with the owners friendly dogs on their land. The hot tub was a nice perk after hiking. We forgot to ask/mention it to the owners but the VRBO lists laundry as an amenity and it was not included in the cabin. The land has interesting civil war history tied to it, which was neat to hear.

This cottage was perfect for our 5 year anniversary get away. It’s close enough to attractions and shops/restaurants/breweries if you want to explore. It is also nestled just outside (2 min drive) of all of this to allow for a beautiful secluded stay. My husband and I enjoyed all had to offer. The fresh eggs and bread (dairy free bc I can’t have dairy) were a special touch. We would return! Edgar and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts. I even took home fresh eggs for the week.

Cottage in the Country

This was such a lovely little cottage! We enjoyed the mountain views and beautiful horse in the pasture directly behind us. The dogs greeted us outside each day and were so sweet

Relaxing stay

Loved seeing it was professionally cleaned prior to our visit. Cute, clean, comfy, and reliable central air. Hot tub was lovely, and had shelter above it which was great since it was raining. The tin roof on the cottage was cool to hear during the rainstorm. Friendly animals too!

A special kind of wonderful

The Cottage at Ravens Roost was a wonderful venue for us to rest as we explored the Shenandoah Valley. The dogs on the property were so friendly and adorable! We loved watching the horses in the mornings. Not to mention the farm fresh eggs and the raspberry lemon bread that we were surprised with when we arrived! Excellent hosts, excellent stay.
