About this property

BEAUTIFUL OCEANFRONT COTTAGE WITH AMAZING WATER VIEWS & ACCESS

This adorable cottage is open, light and spacious with incredible ocean views and a private saltwater pond! You can swim or float in the pond, launch a kayak or canoe right on the property. Relax on the large deck to watch the sunset, cook outside on the grill or star gaze at night! Watch the eagles, osprey, and sometimes seals and deer from the deck.

There are two bedrooms with new queen beds and organic bedding on the second floor, one with incredible waterfront views and the second with views out to the woods. We have recently put in large new windows and high ceilings to make rooms feel extremely comfortable. There is also seating in both rooms to comfortably read or have a cup of tea in your own space. The full bathroom is brand new in 2023, with a walk in shower, gorgeous vanity set up and new organic toweling.

The kitchen is remodelled with new appliances and everything you should need to cook daily. There is a beautiful breakfast nook and bar seating to watch the sea out the window as you drink your morning coffee or have an evening glass of wine.

The living room and dining room is open with lots of light, windows and original hardwood floors! The dining room seats 4 to 6, in front of the large windows with an ocean view. There is another small dining area outside on the terrace as well in case you want to eat right on the ocean.

The coveted Hancock Point spot is quiet and relaxing, but close to everything. Groceries, shopping, beaches, restaurants, tennis, sailing, hiking, are all close by!! For a day trip, you can get to Acadia National Park, and Schodic point in about 30 minutes. This house is ready to go for winter rentals as well and is perfect for a cozy winter stay. Cross country skiing in Acadia is a must do!

Please note the house is newly done with mostly white furniture so dogs and small children must be watched carefully if you are coming as a family. Also, while we do offer A.C.it is with heat pumps so if you are looking for a very strong air conditioned place, we do not recommend our cottage! It is perfect for anyone wanting to sleep with the windows open and enjoy the sounds of the water right outside and a cool ocean breeze.

We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay at this cottage. While located a bit of a ways from Bar Harbor and Acadia, we rather enjoyed our solitude and distance from the crowds. Wonderful cottage with outstanding deck overlooking the water

We loved staying at this sweet cottage with just the right amount of room and charm. It is cozy without being cramped and is great for two couples or in our case parents and two adult daughters who shared a bed. The real gem is the deck overlooking the water, with a dining table and Adirondack chairs perfect for a morning coffee and evening glass of wine. Perfectly situated between Acadia and Schoodic Peninsula, we highly recommend this gorgeous spot.

My husband Jamie and I have been living in London for ten years now but have bought this house as a getaway near to where I grew up in Hancock, Maine. This is a very special place for us and we are thrilled to share it with people who respect it and are looking to reconnect with nature and a bit of quiet. As people living in the city ourselves, we appreciate how restorative this is and how important! We hope the house and the location bring a lot of joy to our visitors.

Why they chose this property

This unique property has private waterfront access, with a gorgeous walk down to the sea and salt water pond. The views are incredible, with lobster boats situated in the cove and daily sitings of eagles, seals, loons and our resident fox who lives in the woods next door. An amazing place to reconnect with the beauty of the natural world and switch off in the evenings with a glass of wine on our terrace that seats you high enough to see it all!

What makes this property unique

We have renovated the house in late 2022 to have beautiful high ceilings upstairs, a luxurious new bathroom with a walk in shower, and large windows to see the ocean and wood views better. There are new kitchen appliances for anyone wanting to stay in and cook, and a separate laundry room where you can do your washing with a sea view!
