About this property

Cozy Cabin with Hottub near Lake James, Linville Gorge and the Fonta Flora Trail

If you are longing for a private haven that is serene and quiet, yet easily accessible, we invite you to discover Bee at Peace, 3 miles from the Linville Access at Lake James nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The moment you arrive the stress of urban life melts away.

Our cabin is located in a private setting with Russel Creek running behind. The cabin has 2 bedrooms: one with a queen bed, and the second containing 2 sets of twin bunk beds with 4 total beds. The bathroom includes a washer and dryer for your use. The great room includes the kitchen which has been fully remodeled with new appliances. The living room has a large rock fireplace with gas logs. The outside features of our cabin include a hot tub, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, hammocks and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs surrounding it. Russel Creek offers a wonderful backdrop to all the outdoor amenities.

Walking around the lake or on one of the many trails in the area you will notice all the beautiful trees and Rhododendron along with wildflowers skirting the trail. It is not unusual for deer to cross your path throughout the seasons and you might even see a bald eagle swooping down on the lake for fish, all offering great photo opportunities.

Hike any of the local trails to experience mountain views at its finest! The Fonta Flora and Lake James State Park trails give you a view of the foothills while walking beside the beautiful Lake James. Hawksbill, Table Rock, or Shortoff trails take you to the peaks surrounding The Linville Gorge (known as the Grand Canyon of the East). Upper Creek Falls, Linville Falls, and Catawba Falls will all give you amazing views of waterfalls all within a short drive of our cabin.

So, put your feet up, sit a spell, hike a trail, swim in the lake, bike down a gravel path, sail across Lake James and enjoy the crisp clean North Carolina mountain air; take a deep breath, embrace being in the moment!

Nice Weekend Retreat
The house was just as described in the listing. The hosts were very responsive. Be aware that there is no cell signal but there is a land line. The hot tub was nice. My husband was disappointed there was no Bigfoot. Can’t have everything.

A wonderful cabin!
Our family of 4 (kids ages 5 and 7) and our dog stayed for new years and absolutely loved the cabin. It is very remote and has no service but we enjoyed that. The yard is perfect for the kids to run wild (but the cabin is on a road so the dog couldn’t be off a leash like we hoped), hammocks outside to relax, hot tub was relaxing, and the creek is beautiful- everyone got in actually (except mama) despite the cold! We cooked each night and the kitchen had everything we needed. We hiked nearby (5 min drive) to fonta flora trail, went to downtown Morganton, and the cabin is only 30 min to Jonas ridge snow tubing and 50 min from banner elk where we saw snow and rode the alpine coaster. The cabin was clean and the layout is great, would very much recommend any family staying here!

Excellent Place To Stay!!
Our family of four and our two pups love this cabin and yard! This was our fourth time back, and it still was just as relaxing. We love the seclusion that this property brings. It’s like time slows down when we are there, and that’s what we love. It’s a great place to relax and read, but also has local hiking trails to enjoy too. Our 8.5 year old pups run and play like no other time when staying here. It’s like they even get rejuvenated! Our 7 and 5 year old kiddos love the cozy cabin and all the activities that’s provided by the home owner! The home owners are super sweet people, and are super receptive both prior to, during, and after our stays! It’s just a great place to stay! 😁

This is what your family needs
Came a cross this amazing find as I looked for a cabin to try and get my 4 kids to stop fighting and enjoy each other. my oldest just turned 15 and we only have a couple years left before college! The pictures of the property to explore is what made my mind up to stick all 6 of us and our Great Dane in this 2 bedroom cabin for thanksgiving’s and my decision couldn’t have been better!!!! The amount of stuff to do is mind blowing! We stayed a full week enjoyed our thanksgiving undisturbed! My kids have never seen a phone with a cord and watching them talk on it and figure out how to use it was priceless! If you’re reading this and wondering if this is the place for you let me tell you! Yes! Book it! My kids are 8,9,11,15. We have stayed in cabins with arcades, indoor pools, enough bedroom for them to have their own and I would gladly take this over any of that any time! My kids said the same! No cell no wifi! And THIS is the cabin they asked if we could spend every thanksgiving! Life is short make it an adventure! This is an area that has different activity’s and experiences for each season and can’t wait to see it in another season !!!!! Thank you for sharing your cabin and giving us forever memories and truly enjoying each other!

Why they chose this property

We love escaping to the cabin with our kids! We bought it with the idea of fixing it up and sharing it with others. Disconnecting brings our family closer together and we hope it will do the same for you! Badminton and horseshoes are some of our kid's favorite things to play at the cabin!
