Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.
Amnicon was great! They think of everything to make your stay perfect. Sunset was so cute and absolutely perfect for a weekend away. Even though there were other people staying on the property I felt secluded and as if I had the place to myself. I highly recommend Amnicon and look forward to coming back again in the future.
We absolutely loved our time in the Sunset cabin and would definitely stay again. Had some trouble getting ahold of the host but it didn't impede our stay. The cabin was the perfect size for my partner and I, and the fireplace made it so cozy. The kitchenette was great too.We did end up going out to get our own dish soap, as dish water is dumped outside and the one stocked is Dawn which doesn’t biodegrade. It would be great if Camp Amnicon could use another type of soap like Mrs. Meyer's - which is what we got - because it will biodegrade in the environment.Overall an excellent experience and we are already looking forward to coming back!

Thank you for your feedback. And fun fact! Dawn IS biodegradable, according to their website. Not sure why they don't advertise that more clearly on the bottles :)
This small cabin was perfect for a cozy weekend. The trails around the property were great and the overall process of booking/check-in was very hands off. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I had a wonderful time in the Sunset lodge. We enjoyed all of the hiking trails, spending time down by the water and enjoying a private campfire. We would recommend any couple looking for a relaxing weekend in nature and beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful and secluded walking down to the beach on Lake Superior sitting by the campfire watching the stars listening to the birds song a little piece of Heaven my second stay here and I will be back! Am going to make it here at least once each season Just wonderful!
This cabin was so lovely! The smell of the cedar, super comfy bed and short walk to the beach were highlights. It was so nice to unplug. Would definitely stay here again.
Very clean. Had everything we needed. Awesome spot so close to the lake. Great trails, beautiful scenery.

About the host
Hosted by Camp Amnicon
Camp Amnicon Adventures & Retreats is a high-adventure summer camp that offers guided wilderness trips to small groups of middle & high school students. We are ELCA-affiliated, and welcoming to people of all genders, races, and backgrounds. Our mission is to guide people to experience Grace & Growth in the wild places of creation. We hope that you get to experience deep peace while you're here.
At our base-camp, we rent out 6 small/personal retreat cabins and a big four-season lodge, as well several as hike-in campsites and seasonal glamping wall-tents. The cabins are far enough apart from each other and the main public spaces of the camp that you will get a nice amount of privacy. But you should also expect to see other people around the main areas of camp, at the beach, on the walking-paths, and in the public restrooms in the lodge. If you'd like to see a map of the grounds before making a reservation, feel free to send us a message and we'll be more than happy to share it with you.
99% of the year, our site is quiet and serene. There are a few days during the summer when we'll have several groups of campers coming through base-camp for day of orientation before they head out on their guided adventure trips. If you'd like to avoid these high-traffic days, please contact us prior to making your reservation. We're more than happy to share with you how busy we might expect any particular dates to be.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or need help deciding if our cabins will be a good fit for you!
