Here are a few things you'll want to know before you book this cabin: - The cabin is clean, comfortable, and elegant, but still quite rustic. The cabin is available year-round, with a propane fireplace for your main source of heat. It has electricity, but no running water. In the kitchenette is a water dispenser for washing & drinking. You can unload your vehicle about a one or two-minute walk from the cabin. We offer hand carts and/or utility sleds for bringing luggage to the cabin. After you've unloaded your vehicle, we'll ask you to park your car back in the parking lot along the side of the road. - We want to be as transparent as possible about what the cabin is like. It was very nice the cabin the walking trails. Only difficulty was in locating the camp site. We missed the little sign leading the way the first 2 passes by the road.
Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.
The cabin was perfect for my silent retreat. Quiet and self-contained, but not isolated, and surrounded by beautiful trees, birds, and other creatures. Definitely recommend!
Retreat from daily living to the woods. This place has the conveniences to be comfortable-- electricity, coffee maker, frig -- but none that distract from the lake, woods, river, and the quiet.
Had a Mother and Daughter trip to the area and we had a great time. Would love to make it back that way again soon. Would definitely book the same cabin again. Wonderful.
Great location with many trails. Cute cabin— and looks more spacious when in person! You can hear the birds singing and trees swaying and its nothing but peaceful. You can see the stars at night. It was just wonderful.
This place impressed us so much. It’s so much more than a little cabin. Definitely recommended walking down to the beach! Gorgeous!!

About the host
Hosted by Camp Amnicon
Camp Amnicon Adventures & Retreats is a high-adventure summer camp that offers guided wilderness trips to small groups of middle & high school students. We are ELCA-affiliated, and welcoming to people of all genders, races, and backgrounds. Our mission is to guide people to experience Grace & Growth in the wild places of creation. We hope that you get to experience deep peace while you're here.
At our base-camp, we rent out 6 small/personal retreat cabins and a big four-season lodge, as well several as hike-in campsites and seasonal glamping wall-tents. The cabins are far enough apart from each other and the main public spaces of the camp that you will get a nice amount of privacy. But you should also expect to see other people around the main areas of camp, at the beach, on the walking-paths, and in the public restrooms in the lodge. If you'd like to see a map of the grounds before making a reservation, feel free to send us a message and we'll be more than happy to share it with you.
99% of the year, our site is quiet and serene. There are a few days during the summer when we'll have several groups of campers coming through base-camp for day of orientation before they head out on their guided adventure trips. If you'd like to avoid these high-traffic days, please contact us prior to making your reservation. We're more than happy to share with you how busy we might expect any particular dates to be.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or need help deciding if our cabins will be a good fit for you!
