Skaneateles lake is absolutely beautiful! Views from top of the bluff and the fire pit were awesome! However, the very narrow 75 steps down to the dock and water are annoying at best. Our water piped into the camp had a sulfur smell all week. It was ok, but for money spent we expected more.
Great location, nice views, liked the wood burning fireplace and kayaks. The lake was chilly but amazing, so clean. Enjoyed restraunts and shopping downtown, recommend Doug's Famous Fish Fry.
We had a wonderful week at the Skaneateles Lake House. The house was very comfortable, bedding, kitchen equipment, etc. all just what we needed. A beautiful view from the screened porch. There is a long staircase down to the dock. The lake is very clean and great for swimming. We also enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle board. The town of Skaneateles is close by and nice for shopping and enjoying a stroll. Thanks, Albert and Evona!
Cottage very clean With all amenities.. had a problem with Wi-Fi first day owner was quick to respond.. Problem was fixed! Would be very careful booking with children under 5 . Stairs going down to lake not kid friendly. With that being said enjoyed our stay on the Lake!
Beautiful lake, swimming was outstanding, lovely farmland!
Pleasant cottage, AC was very comfortable. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks, yard games, floating deck and fire pit. Extreme care is needed with steep, narrow lakefront stairs. We loved historic downtown, highly recommend Harriet Tubman Museum in Auburn & Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse. The gravel lane to home was partially washed out, narrow & very steep, needs new gravel, grading & crowning which is responsibility of all homeowners on lane, all or 4-wheel drive is recommended. Beds on the first floor were somewhat soft, new pillows needed in master. Please replace coffee machine ASAP, it takes 32 minutes to brew 6 cups. Zero storage in very small first floor queen bedroom. Suggest multi-hook clothing boards for walls & doors, and wider storage shelves & wall hooks in back foyer area for guests of queen room to use. Side window blind is missing in twin bedroom. Host was to repair previously broken leg on oak table on back porch.
Wow! Great location, clean house, and well stocked on all amenities. My family enjoyed their stay. We found Albert very welcoming, informative, and easy to reach.
I've been to Europe three times and have visited 40 states but this vacation tops all of these. It was so relaxing, the house was perfect, the fire pit and yard were intoxicating and the view of the lake was gorgeous. We used the dock for our boat and caught over a hundred fish. Perfection. Thank you.
Lake and the area are wonderful, a great getaway. House and property were as described in the listing, no surprises. Wonderful stay. We will definitely be back.
We rented this property for 3 nights and everything was wonderful. A beautiful setting. Quiet and relaxing. House is very comfortable and well maintained. Communication with our host was excellent. We hope to return to this area and when we do, this will be our choice of where to stay!
We recently stayed at this property for 8 nights and it did not disappoint. We met Albert who was an excellent host. The house was very clean and it felt like we were checking into a hotel. The property speaks for itself with a panoramic view of Skaneateles lake. We hope to rent again next summer!
This property was great for what our family needed. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Great huge kitchen table that everyone was able to sit at. Only concern we had was the large number of stairs to the bottom of the bluffs where the sitting dock is located. Conveniently located to town of Skaneateles. Owner was responsive to all of our needs/concerns.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as a family! We were all able to navigate the stairway to the water level and very much enjoyed kayaking, swimming, and soaking up the sunshine on the raft. Even if you can’t navigate the stairs, the view from the front screened in porch of the house, or the fire pit area surrounded by chairs, is incredible! The owner was very responsive to any questions or requests. We did an hours long boat tour of the lake which was quite interesting. We would highly recommend this rental home!
We had a wonderful weekend in Skaneateles. The House was clean and well occupied, and the view was just terrific. A lot of room to play in the yard, nice fire pit and great waterfront deck with Kayaks. Communication with hosts was easy and they were very responsive and kind.
The house was just as advertised. It was the perfect house for a weekend trip in late fall. The views of the lake from the house were outstanding. The house was very clean and cozy. We had the pleasure to meet Albert. He couldn't have been any nicer. He had some great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in and around Skaneateles. I highly recommend his house.
Highly recommend! It is a beautiful location with amazing views and access to the lake. The owners were very responsive and the house was very clean with all the amenities needed.
Property was amazing! The house is perfect for a large family or friend group. I grew up coming to SKN and have rented many lake houses. This one was exceptional. The kitchen is stocked for those who like to cook- no need to bring a thing. SO many places to gather- side porch, screened in porch, picnic table or down at the beach. Owners are awesome and very responsive. You will want for nothing at this lake house. 2 Kayaks and a paddle board- plus other lake toys down at the shore and binoculars for bird or boat watching! Beds and pillows supper comfortable!! Thank you for a great week!!!
The property was spotless, the location was wonderful with gorgeous views of the lake, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. Nothing was an inconvenience. There were seven adults and everyone had more than enough space. We loved lazing on the floating dock and nightly campfires under the stars.
