Cabin has plenty of space to bring large family and still have room for friends. Place is quit and secluded. Perfect for riding ORV trails and relaxing.
The property is a nice large cabin with good sleeping options for adults; ie multiple large beds in separate bedrooms. This place would be perfect for people with snowmobiles or ORVs.
We like to find a large enough home for us, kids and grandkids so we can all hang out and enjoy quiet time away from everything. This home was perfect. 10 people and two dogs fit perfectly. It was very well stocked with everything that we could ever need.

Mark, I am so glad our cabin worked out so well for you and your family!
We loved this cabin! It was the perfect getaway for us. It really felt like home. We were looking to escape our own homes for a few days to relax and this beautiful cabin was so comfortable! The hot tub, fireplace, and woods were our favorite aspects. I would highly recommend this to anyone. We definitely hope to visit again!

Thank you Katie! I am so glad you enjoyed your stay!
We had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed the cabin immensely! Plenty of room for our family of 12 and everything was exactly as described. Check in was a breeze and Katy did a fantastic job of keeping in touch during our entire stay (including a brief power outage mid-week). Looking forward to returning next summer. Thanks so much for helping to make some wonderful memories for our family!!

I am so glad you had a great stay! You were wonderful guests, and we look forward to hosting you next year! It sounds like your family will have some celebrating to do!
We had an amazing time at Rehs cottage! Every little detail was thought of and definitely appreciated! The welcome gift was a very nice touch and we really enjoyed it. The cottage had more than enough room for everyone. We loved that there was a sxs trail just a minute away. Looking forward to staying in the summer so we can enjoy the fire pit and volleyball court. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Thank you so much for the kind review! I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves! We look forward to hosting you again in the future! You were great guests, and the summer is a different experience for sure!
The cabin is as described and has everything you could possibly need. We cooked or grilled every meal each day and always had the desired pots, pans, utensils, etc. There are lots of places to sit and relax outside to watch the very active bird population on the property. The cabin is a quick drive to numerous lakes which we visited.
Katie and Michael are great hosts - easy to communicate with and very responsive. I will definitely stay here again!

Thank you for the kind review Lindsay! You were perfect guests and left everything so nice! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you again!
We were looking for a place in mid-michigan where our disjointed family could come together to enjoy a belated holiday celebration.
I was looking for a place that would have enough beds for everyone, a table where we could all gather for meals and a comfortable space for hanging out. This property delivered all of that and more.
The pictures do not do it justice. It is a beautiful old cabin that's been modernized for comfort. We would definitely book again.

We are so happy our Cabin fit your needs! Thank you for the kind words and for being such wonderful guests! We would love to have your family visit again!
The cabin is in a great location for the trails! The owner is great at being timely with questions and communication! We had trucks, trailers and sxs and the only struggle we had with the long narrow drive. The snow amounts did not help but it was very tricky even with a truck and small trailer, but it wouldn’t deter us from coming again! We loved it!

Glad you had a good time! I know the driveway can be challenging with all of the snow we had. Much easier to negotiate when there is no (or much less) snow! Hope to host your group again in the future!
Our family of six adults and two children loved our stay at the cabin. The home is rustically, beautifully furnished with room to spread out. The whole house is so well-equipped, I don’t think there was anything we needed and didn’t find….right down to a rolling pin! The setting is quiet and central to several stare parks and places to explore. The owners were extremely helpful with communications before and during our stay….Quick to respond to any questions and a pleasure to deal with. This home will definitely be on our list to return to.

I am so glad your group had a nice time! You were great to work with and we would love you host your family again anytime!
This property was the most beautiful, homey, clean, cozy and inviting place I could have asked for for this family getaway. We had so much room and everything was so clean and inviting. From the hot tub, to the projection TV with plenty of seating in the family room, the to the comfortable and well-decorated bedrooms, we felt at home from the beginning. We are already talking about booking our next stay! The hosts are fantastic and easy to reach if needed. If I could own a place where awesome family memories could be made, it would be a place just liek this. I would not change a thing!

Thank you so much for your kind review Laura! I am so glad your family had such a nice time! I loved that your family left a family group photo in our guest book!! What a great gift! Thank you for leaving the place in such great shape, and we look forward to having your group back!
We stayed in June for a family trip. This home is very spacious and private. All the bedrooms are large and very nicely decorated. Unfortunately we did have to leave a day early due to the heat and the home not having air conditioning. The upstairs was almost unbearable to sleep due to the heat and only having a box fan per room. The hosts were very easy to work with and returned emails right away when contacted. We really enjoyed the large projector tv in the family room for movie nights and to unwind after a long day of trail riding.

We are glad you enjoyed the cabin, but so sorry you had to leave early! It is very unusual to have such extreme heat there, (so unusual to have temps near 100 up north in the woods!), but we do have ways of cooling the cabin down! I wish you would have let us know! We have a window air conditioner we keep in the garage for the rare times it stays hot at night that we would have had a friend come out in, that helps, and a system for cooling the house during hot days and cool nights by closing up house during the day and pulling cool air in, in the evening that works great. I keep the instructions for that in the book. We are looking into a whole house fan to simplify that (as we can’t have central air in log cabin).
The property sits well off the road and is next to an abundance of wooded area. We saw a lot of wildlife, including turkey, deer and many types of birds. The chipmunks enjoyed visiting us as well!
The interior of the cabin is nicely done. The majority of the rooms include a very comfortable bed and adequate space. The multiple decks and outdoors spaces fit our family well. It gave each group enough space to spread out while giving us closeness as well. The hot tub was enjoyed by many in our group. The volleyball net and tetherball were fun pastimes as well. We brought enough firewood to enjoy a couple nights of campfire and s’mores.
Overall the house is well stocked in most things you need. We had a great time! We didn’t want to leave!
Each winter my extended family takes a long weekend trip away. This cabin was perfect for my family. It had all the amenities we were looking for. The cabin is much larger than it appears in the photos. Living room was large enough for us all to spend time watching movies. Dining room has a large table we used to play games and putting puzzles together. We brought our own games and puzzles, but the cabin does include some also. The hot tub is just steps out the door which was great in the winter. There was plenty of yard for the kids to play and build snowmen. Overall, it was a great trip, and we all loved the cabin. Michael and Kathleen were available if needed, luckily, we had no problems. They have a ton of baby items available and extras toiletries if needed and plenty of sleeping room for large groups. Would 100% recommend! Hope to book again in the future.

Thank you for such a kind and informative review! I am so glad you and your group had a good time! We look forward to hosting you in the future!
The cabin was nice, had everything someone would need and then some. Rooms were spacious and plenty of room to fit our 3 families. Kitchen was perfect to make family dinners and gather around the dining room. The property was great lots of room outside for kids to play outdoor games plus they had a volleyball net and tether ball set up. The bonfire pit was big and perfect for our families to gather and have some great conversations and gaze at the open sky with a million stars lighting it up! The hot tub was an extra bonus, clean, nice, big and hot!! Another bonus is it felt very secluded, there is a neighbor, but off a bit on the front side and never heard them nor think we bothered them. Overall I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice family vacation where you can be secluded from the everyday life and soak away your stress! Thank you for opening your cabin to us. We all truly enjoyed ourselves and you helped make a 5th year family labor day weekend tradition live on❤️
This property worked perfectly for a large group of golfers. Great fire pit, internet, TV's and plenty of space in the bedrooms. Definitely would book this house again!
We felt right at home the minute we arrived! The house was absolutely beautiful, clean and had everything we needed to rest, relax, and enjoy time together. We loved the hot tub after a day of shopping, walking through the woods and playing with our pup. We appreciated all the amenities, and when we had questions the owners were quick to respond. We will definitely be returning!

About the host
Hosted by KATHLEEN REHS AND MICHAEL REHS
Mike and I have been married for over 30 years. We both grew up in the Metro Detroit area and have lived in the area all of our married life. We have two grown children who are starting families of their own now.
Why they chose this property
We had a small cabin in Saint Helen for about 20 years and loved the area and spending as much time as possible here with the kids while they were growing up. Now, with our growing family, we decided it was time to find a larger cabin, that our family could continue to grow with. We have always loved this log cabin. We knew the previous owner, and it was the first place we ever stayed when we began coming to this area. It was always our dream to someday have a cabin like this to bring our family. When we started looking for a larger cabin and found out our dream cabin was for sale, we had to make it happen!
What makes this property unique
If you love nature this is the place for you! It is set back from the road and feels secluded, but is only minutes away from town! We are close to trails, the lake, surrounded by state land, and all the benefits! Enjoy the porch swing while watching hummingbirds just feet away during the summer or sit in the dining room or great room and watch turkeys, deer, squirrels, bunnies, and birds galore all year long! The house is big enough to have multiple families, or extended families all come together, but with room to spread out! Enjoy the hot tub, sit in front of the fire or have a family movie night!
