A Perfect Getaway
We rented this house for the holidays and it could not have been more perfect! The house came with everything we needed and had plenty of space. It was cozy and warm. The location was perfect --walking distance from stores and restaurants. We already decided we want to come back next year if it is available!!

What a perfect house for a perfect vacation!
This house is absolutely beautiful. Immaculately clean and stunningly furnished and decorated. It is a long walk from the beach but they provide bikes so we rode every day to the beach, town of Asbury and Ocean Grove as well. There’s a lovely porch and backyard area with a fire pit that was awesome. A magical and memorable time for me and my family.

Great home, hosts and place to visit - will be back!
My two friends and I stayed at Sean and Brad's lovely home in Asbury Park for a reunion. The first floor of the house and the basement apartment combined to provide 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two of which were updated with state-of-the-art fixtures. The house was very spacious, nicely furnished and well supplied with everything a guest could need. We really felt like we were staying in someone's home and not a rental. There is a lovely porch and a backyard as well. Sean and Brad couldn't have been any more welcoming or nicer to us. Asbury Park and nearby Ocean Grove have great restaurants and we loved walking on the boardwalk. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back in the Fall.

I'm an actor and my husband is a television producer. We work in Manhattan, where our daughter is in college. Our weekends are spent in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the "little city by the sea", voted one of the 14 best beaches in the world by Time (2018). We have watched this city spring back to life since 2001, through the efforts of local government, business and homeowners, most of whom arrived in an LGBT wave in the early 2000s. Together we pioneered the renaissance of this unique resort town just 55 miles from NYC. This listing is for the large main floor of our Big Blue House, which was built in 1900.

Why they chose this property

Asbury Park - We left Manhattan for a day of house hunting at 7 am on the morning of 9/11/2001. Arriving at Asbury Park station we learned that the first airplane had hit the World Trade Center. Shocked and unable to return to the city we decided to press on and kept our appointments. We found ourselves bonding with strangers gracious enough to welcome us into their homes and share the terrible awe of that day. The last house we saw that day is the one we decided to make ours. Over the past two decades we have watched this formerly depressed and blighted city spring back to life to become named The Coolest Small Town in America (2017). In tandem with the efforts of federal, state and local government, local businesses, local homeowners, most of whom, like us, arrived in a rainbow wave from NYC and Philadelphia. Together we've pioneered the reconstruction and redevelopment of this great and historic resort town to make it the success it is today welcoming one million visitors a year.

What makes this property unique

Voted the coolest small town in America 2017 and one of The 14 Best Beaches in the World 2018 (Time), Asbury Park New Jersey is an easy road trip from New York or Philadelphia. The revitalized Boardwalk offers great shopping, dining and views of one of the East Coast's most beautiful beaches. First developed in the 1880s as a resort town it boasts a plethora of spectacular Victorian homes. The beacon of the beachfront is the Beaux Arts style Convention Hall, which bestrides the Boardwalk at the northern end. Asbury Park launched Bruce Springsteen into the world, and has remained a music mecca with concerts in Convention Hall (capacity 4,000) The Paramount Theater (Capacity 2,000) and the legendary Stone Pony all year round. The boardwalk is punctuated with shopping pavilions, a water park, mini golf, Paradise - at the Empress Hotel - the largest gay nightclub in New Jersey, and unique shopping downtown on Cookman Ave. NJ transit trains leave hourly from NY Penn station and arrive in Asbury Park in less than two hours. From the station you're just a 5 minute walk along Cookman Ave to dipping your toes in the Atlantic Ocean.
