Villa Evelyn is a cosy house in the middle of the nature, totally private and at the same time very near of the beautifull village of Gaucín (5 min). It is ideal for lovers nature, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, almonds tress, chestnuts trees, birds, butterflies, etc.

Villa Evelyn has been refurbished recently with the best quality and it is fully equipped with a good WiFi and air-conditioning.

The terrace is ideal for enjoying the views to the garden and the distant mountains taking food to the barbecue and enjoying the summer nights on the relaxing sofas.

In the large garden you can relax on the sun enjoying of the birds of prey flying over fields.

The living room is fully equipped with heat and cold air conditioning. WiFi throughout the house and garden, TV 40 ", CD player with radio and USB connection, there are also books in several languages.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, induction hob, american fridge, electric mixer, toaster, capsules coffee maker, tablecloths, cutlery and crockery for 6 people.

The bedroom has a queen bed, air conditioning heat-cold, cupboard, hangers, chest of drawers and bedside tables. In the windows there are blackout curtains.

The bathroom is complete with sink, bidet, toilet and a large shower with nonskid floor and screen. There is also a wall heater for fresh time.

Bed linen and towels are supplied.

In the house apart from the main house is the laundry room with washer machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, portable clothesline. Available free for the guests.

Gaucin is a focus point of the Serrania de Ronda, with great views of the Valley Genal and Gibraltar, which offers visitors good tapas bars and restaurants, air municipal swimming pool open during the summer months, supermarkets, bakery, green shop and gifts, bank with ATMs, post office ,tourist office, ethnological museum, library, ...

It is high recommend renting a car to come from the airport and so be available to explore the surroundings and make it easier to return to the airport.

In the village there is a group of artists "Art-Gaucín" they are painters, sculptors, writers, etc. exhibitions offered by the public throughout the year.

The municipal band on the streets happy holidays, with traditional pasodobles. They offer concerts and parades through the town.

Perfect

Just arrived home after a 14 night holiday. Totally loved it. Spotlessly clean, everything you need, wonderful restaurants in the town within walking distance. Plenty to do and see in the area. We have booked again for September this year. Anabel was very helpful with any questions. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!!

Peaceful location, beautiful views

Immaculate house, clean and plenty of room, with great, modern facilities, perfect for couples. The spacious, secluded patio area gives excellent mountain views, great for relaxing and bird watching. The location is just a couple of minutes walk from the village and is a good starting point for walking especially around El Hacho. Parking is always a bonus in Gaucin, the property is accessed down a steepish driveway which is great for getting the heart pumping if you head out on foot :-)

Relaxing location with stunning scenery

Villa Evelyn is located in a beautiful location, surrounded by mountainous countryside. We got a little lost on arrival because it was late at night but Anabel was available to help us out and communication throughout our time here was excellent. We enjoyed an 11 day stay here and were lucky to experience a 4 day fiesta in the local village of Gaucin. We felt we were experiencing the "real Spain" mixing with the friendly villagers and locals. We spent time relaxing at the villa and also explored places such as Estepona and Ronda. Some of the local drives were interesting as you wind your way up and down the mountains but the scenery is beautiful. We would definately recommend a visit to this villa to anyone wanting to experience less touristy part of Spain.

A comfortable and nicely presented property, with an amazing outlook. A fabulous hide away for bird watchers. We even has a sub adult Golden Eagle for two evening in the valley below!

Walking distance to Gaucin

Villa was lovely, very well equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. Bedroom with beams was very nice and kitchen and bathroom spotless. Outside very nice with dining table for two and comfortable chairs for relaxing. Nice not to have to take the car into Gaucin, we walked or biked. We did not eat out as we enjoyed eating at the villa, particularly in the evening. Anabel had listed a shop where two delightful Scottish ladies prepared full meals so we took advantage of that. The last 2 days we drove to Estepona and enjoyed the lovely promenade along the beach as well as the pretty old town.

Haus in ruhiger, privater Lage am Ortsrand von Gaucín

Wir wurden von Anabel sehr freundlich in Empfang genommen. Das Haus ist nur einen kurzen Fußweg vom schönen Ort Gaucín entfernt. Im Haus hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Küche ist mit modernen Geräten großzügig ausgestattet. Das Bad läßt keine Wünsche offen. Auf der großen Terrasse stehen Tische und viele verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung. Man kann den ungehinderten Blick in die Landschaft genießen. In einzelnen Bereichen wie dem Geschirr ist bei der Sauberkeit noch Spielraum nach oben.

Een leuk huisje met veel privacy en een prachtig uitzicht.

Wij hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in villa Evelyn. Het huisje is heel compleet: vaatwasser, oven, uitstekende kookplaat, leuke en fijne douche. Het terras is fantastisch! Heerlijk ‘S morgens in de zon ontbijten en ‘s avonds de zon achter de berg zien zakken. Omringt door alleen landelijke geluiden. Gaucin is een gezellig plaatsje met leuke eettentjes en in de omgeving is het goed wandelen (direct vanuit huis). Tevens zijn er leuke uitstapjes te maken: rots van Gibraltar, Ronda, etc. Anabel is erg behulpzaam en makkelijk te bereiken. Wij hadden graag nog langer in villa Evelyn willen blijven en komen zeker terug. Een aanrader.

Urlaub im Februar

Gaucin ist ein wunderschöner Ort in den Bergen Andalusiens mit netten kleinen Cafés und Restaurants. Das Haus lag etwas abgelegen am Ortsrand mit herrlichen Blicken in die Umgebung. Sehr ruhig und doch nah am Zentrum von Gaucin. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alles sehr sauber! Bei unserer Ankunft am Abend war das Haus sehr kalt, deshalb würden wir empfehlen, die Vermieterin zu bitten, das Haus vor Ankunft etwas vorwärmen zu lassen. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich, sehr hilfsbereit und jederzeit erreichbar. Wir würden das Haus bei unserem nächsten Urlaub in Andalusien auf jeden Fall wieder mieten, da auch das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis top ist! Besser geht's nicht! Olaf

We were very comfortable.

We stayed at Villa Evelyn for 4 nights in early December 2017. The weather was very chilly, but the heaters worked perfectly. Plenty of hot water. And the cottage was clean. During our stay, Anabel said the TV antenna was broken due to wind, so we only had Spanish local TV channels, but no English channels. The internet connection was not 100%, but was quite good considering the cottage's location. It went out occasionally for no apparent reason, but only for a couple minutes at a time. (During a big storm while we were there everything was out -- but that was due to the great big storm -- not the fault of Villa Evelyn.) The cottage, as described, was perfect for 2 people, and we were very comfortable. We did not go to the grocery store in Gaucin. We went in Ronda. When we walked through the village, we saw some nice looking restaurants and a couple small grocery stores that all looked nice, though we didn't use them. We fixed all our meals in the kitchen, and the cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed to do so. We used the charcoal grill twice, and it was nice to have. Anabel provided the charcoal and the starter; we brought our own matches (if you book here, just ask her where the matches are located -- we just used our own). When we arrived, the batteries in the TV remote were dead. Anabel lives just up the road and was very responsive when we requested some new batteries for the TV remote control. The washer and dryer worked perfectly and were very convenient in an adjacent shed. If you book here, you'll need to bring all your own food, naturally. We had our own dishwasher soap and laundry soap, but just ask Anabel because she might provide it with the cottage. All bathroom soaps were provided and plentiful. We thought the cottage was correctly priced and were glad we had booked Villa Evelyn. I would do so again. S. and H. Stephens Houston Texas

Villa Evelyn is a perfect little villa in a great location, close to wonderful restaurants in beautiful Gaucin, only 30 minutes to the coast and many other beauty spots. The villa has everything you need and we found it perfect for 2 people. Anabel is very helpful if you need anything, we couldn't ask for more. Hope to return soon.

Lovely little villa in a beautiful part of the world. Great for raptor spotting.

A lovely little cottage, just a short walk from Gaucin with its beautiful old ruined castle, and its shops and bars. It has a well equipped kitchen, a lovely master bedroom and a convertible sofa in the living room, which makes a perfectly comfortable double bed. It is recommended for couples but was perfectly suited to our needs as a family of three. Information provided includes a carefully compiled book of local attractions and manuals for all the kitchen equipment. It is clean and well appointed. One warning- Do take care if you attempt any of the local walks in the summer heat as they are longer than they sound! It was a great place to watch wildlife, with booted eagles and griffon vultures over every day, and Scarce and Machaon swallowtail butterflies in the garden, and bee eaters in the wider area. It has good road connections, although one of the roads was undergoing major repairs during our visit it was still accessible. Gaucin has good facilities, there is a supermarket just up the drive and good restaurants in the town- we went to Azulete and loved it, though there are several others in town which also seemed worth a look. Great spot and thankyou to Anabel for a wonderful stay.

Déçus par le comportement de la propriétaire

Le gîte est bien en soi quoi qu'il y ait un minimum de vaisselle à se servir. Le contexte est très bruyant , avec chiens alentour qui aboient toute la journée et surtout la nuit. La propriétaire ne donne aucune explications sur le fonctionnement des appareils ménagers et la télé: débrouillez-vous tout seuls! Elle fait semblant de vous faire confiance en refusant l'état des lieux à l'arrivée et au départ et ensuite elle refuse de vous rembourser la caution vous accusant d'avoir abimé ses affaires(dans notre cas casse d'un parasol dont nous ne nous sommes jamais servi et petite tache sur un canapé blanc que nous avions bien constaté l'existence à notre arrivée.Mais quelle idée du blanc pour une location!)Procédant ainsi on peut vous accuser de tout.

We loved the property and area of Gaucin. Would benefit from a sun shade or parasol.

The local contact Anabel, was excellent with our questions around the property and the area. A sun shade or canopy would be worthwhile in the summer sun. However this would not stop us going back to the EXACT place and accommodation. The British TV channels didn't work (the first night we were drying out from being totally soaked by the rain in the afternoon and TV might have been good to have - never an issue and it won't ever stop us returning!) The village is a fabulous wee gem. The bars and restaurants around the village are all lovely and a short drive to Ronda (or Marbella if that's your fancy), is easy and worthwhile for a day trip. Thanks you for your review. There is a parasol for the terrace but we are checking the posibility to install a sun shade for the summer sun. The Satellite TV has gone, then we are installed a Smart TV, with a great variety of channels with differents languages. Sorry for the inconveniences.

Fantastic little oasis

A lovely little place, compact and bijou, but everything needed for a comfortable stay in this little village. Handy for small supermarkets and petrol station and plenty of places to eat. Well situated for visiting Serania de Ronda, the Alcornocales or Sierra de Grazelema.

Desconcetar y descansar

Hemos pasado un par de días en esta casita muy relajados, es tal cual las fotos y todo muy limpio y ordenado, con todo lo necesario. El pueblo y los propietarios encantadores, se come muy bien. Es cierto que se escucha los animales, quizas el burro de la finca cercana demasiado. Al atardecer refresca bastante pero con el aire acondicionado ningún problema, se fue la luz al poner otro electrodomestico aunque tras avisar lo solucionaron en minutos. Es un sitio recomendable y aconsejo llevar vehiculo para explorar la zona.

Merci beaucoup pour l'évaluation de ma propriété de vacances. Je suis heureux que vous avez aimé les draps, je tiens à offrir des trucs de qualité mes invités comme vous l'avez vu dans la maison. Je suis désolé que dans son séjour de deux semaines ici, il n'y a pas de soleil tous les jours, mais nous avons pu profiter de quelques jours de printemps a encore une fois la pluie, mais je crains que nous ne pouvons pas regarder de travers parce que nous avons besoin d'eau pour l'été ( cela est vrai dans le sud de l'Espagne). Et avec la pluie et le mauvais temps, nous avons eu un petit hors du WiFi, je suis désolé pour tout inconvénient qui pourrait avoir causé cet incident, comme je l'ai déjà présenté mes excuses à l'époque, j'ai appelé le technicien dès que vous me dit et vous pourriez vérifier que le problème a été résolu de manière satisfaisante, (la vérité est que dans le contrat de 2 ans avec cette WiFi est la première fois qui a mal tourné) et technique agi rapidement pour y remédier). J'espère que vous avez eu un bon voyage sur son retour à la maison, malgré la pluie, nous avons dans toute l'Espagne en ce moment. Je vous remercie beaucoup d'être venus et nous espérons la prochaine fois que vous nous visitez pour accompagner le beau temps et le soleil agréable qui caractérise le sud de l'Espagne pour chaque jour de votre séjour.

Comfortable house in perfect countryside

We stayed in Anabel's house for 11 days in early January. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is just as described. We had good weather, but for the few cold nights the heating is very efficient. We didn't need any help from Anabel but she made it clear we could ask her if we needed anything. The scenery is marvelous for walking and exploring, and the town is only 10 mins walk away. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a stay in beautiful unspoilt countryside

Très bon accueil de la propriétaire- Agréable petite maison sur les hauteurs au milieu de la nature

Notre gentille hôte est venue nous chercher à la station du village, lorsque nous lui avons envoyé un SMS et même si la langue a été un frein, nous avons réussi à nous comprendre .Nous sommes enchantés de notre séjour à Gaucin. La maison est très bien tenue, on s'y sent bien et tranquille. C'est suffisant pour 2 personnes même avec un enfant. Le décor bucolique nous a ravi que ce soit la multitude d'oiseaux arrivant de bon matin et se nettoyant avec la rosée de l'herbe, les aboiements lointain des chiens, le braiment de l’âne, les brebis curieuses qui s'approchent de la clôture en dessous. Gaucin est un charmant village blanc,il fait bon se promener dans ses ruelles . Nous avons trouvé ici que des gens très sympathiques. Il y a commerces, boulangerie, marché, pharmacie et aussi un magasin de produits bio, sans compter les bars, restaurants, et autres boutiques. Nous recommandons cette location aux amoureux de la nature.

Beautiful location, lovely and clean and well equipped accommodation.

The accommodation is in a great location and the villa is clean and well maintained. It has everything you need for an enjoyable break. The location is very peaceful and private apart from the barking dogs in the surrounding hills which are annoying at first, but after a couple of days relaxing you hardly notice them. The walk up the hill to the village is not for the fainthearted, particularly when the weather is hot, but if you have a car there is easy parking at the top of the hill so drive up and then walk into town. Everything about the villa was excellent and if it only had a pool it would be perfect. My only criticism was the bed. It was a struggle to sleep on one side of it without eventually ending up in the center. I think a new mattress may be required. The air-con in every room was a godsend. The village itself is only a 10 minute walk away and is well provided with restaurants and bars. El Atico and La Fructuosa are particularly good if you are looking for that special meal. A visit to Castillo del Aguilas is a must, It takes about 30 minutes to walk there from the villa (mainly uphill) but entry is free and the views are amazing. There is a beautiful church in the grounds and Eagles and Vultures flying above and below as you look out from the castle walls. Gibraltar is only an hours drive away and is worth a visit, but leave your car at the border and walk in. It costs about £10 to park for the day at the border, but easier than trying to drive and park on the rock. The historic town of Ronda is also worth a visit and takes about 45 minutes by car. The coast is about 45 minutes drive away, Estapona is the closest large resort. I would definitely recommend Villa Evelyn to friends and family and may return next year. Tony & Carol (Stockport)

Thank you very much for your comments, I hope you forgive any discomfort that may have occurred since we are in the field and can not control everything as we would like, as we always appreciate the comfort and privacy of our guests above all . Regarding the barking dogs, is because there are small coops and when wild foxes dogs approach defend the chickens, but I think you are just getting used because in reality they are not so close, what happens is that in the silence of the nature is heard everything that happens to several hundred meters. Regarding the mattress will consider your comment and will be a new mattress to avoid sleepless nights, we like our guests to inform us of any grievance to solve and improve it as soon as possible.
