The Firepit is calling! The birds are chirping!
Mountain modern rustic design, owner built for your vacation enjoyment! The Raven Cabin is a single story cabin situated on 10 acres on a quiet country road 10 minutes from Golden.
Everyone's well being is important. We will use a 1:9 bleach solution on all surfaces, and respect your health.
Scandinavian style rustic mountain home.
The Raven Cabin is a single story 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin set in the forest on a quiet country road. Creek side, there is nothing to disturb your tranquility. Except the wildlife! In our local Boreal forest we have 3 types of owl that you will hear , but may not see and at least 6 types of woodpeckers, who aren't shy! Pine martens, deer and all sorts of small forest critters live in the forest surrounding the chalet.
The Kitchen; we understand that you love to cook but need a full kitchen to do it well. From a coffee grinder, blender, sharp knives, to a garlic press we've tried to think of everything, but will be happy to acquire anything that we may have forgotten! We also supply gourmet Kicking Horse coffee, a french press and a percolator.
Our surrounding area; Golden is amazing, truly. Situated in the massive Columbia Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Peaks, Golden sits in the center of 6 of Canada's most awesome National Mountain Parks. Golden Base Camp is 10 minutes from town and 25 minutes from world class skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain resort. Golden itself offers, golfing, rafting, kayaking, paragliding, parasailing, mountain biking, you name it you could probably find it here!

Perfect Mountain Retreat

This cabin is the ideal mountain get away. A cozy, ski cabin in the quiet of the woods. Close to Golden (5mins), close to Kicking Horse Resort (20mins). A perfect place to get away from it all.

It is a perfect modern cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet getaway in the mountains. The owners are super friendly and have thought of everything you will need. We were comfy and cozy our whole stay. Thank you for a memorable holiday!

Perfect mountain escape

Absolutely loved this rental! Spent 8 nights here for a family vacation. Perfect spot if you are looking for proximity to mountain attractions and peace and quiet! Place looked brand new, good kitchen, lots of hot water, spacious lot with outdoor dining and fire pit. Nancy, the owner, is super nice and extremely accommodating. We will be back. Super cute!

Lovely spot

We enjoyed our stay, in spite of poor wifi. The house itself is lovely, comfortable and nice and quiet. Nancy is really great: super responsive and helpful. Really seems to care about the quality of the experience. The one downside was the wifi, which was weak at best and on some days non-existent. We messaged with Nancy about it and she said it's a problem when windy or smokey from forest fires. I guess I'd just say be prepared for the possibility of limited wifi. For us, it made it difficult to book reservations, check weather, and get driving directions. It did get better over the course of our stay, so it really did seem to be dependent upon weather and other conditions. Perhaps adding a modem to the actual cabin (rather than in the neighboring cabin) might help? In any case, it was for sure the only downside of a lovely and comfortable stay.

It is so nice to stay at a place that is exactly as advertised. A very quiet cabin that is well appointed and you want for nothing. If you can't relax here you simply are not trying. Will return.

Nice mountain get away

Very nice cabin off the beaten track. The host Nancy was very responsive to our needs. The cabin has everything you need and when the coffee maker didn’t work she brought us a new one that very day! The cabin also had a number of indoor and outdoor games to suit everyone. The cabin has access to a number of the National Parks in the area with great paddling and hiking if you were willing to drive an hour or so.

Spectacular Secluded Getaway

Golden Base Camp

What an amazing vacation we had at this gorgeous house. It was peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed cooking on the BBQ, fire pit with lots of wood, the open concept of the house. Everything was made for us to have memorable vacation. Location was a bonus. Close to Golden and to so many lacs around for fishing and kayaking. The host, Nancy and Brian, are really nice people. They put so much love and effort in the propriety, a must to visit. You won't regret it.

My happy place is conceptualizing and realizing almost any form of project from a cabin to artwork and textile art to hang in that very same cabin. I am the President of the parents committee at my daughters' school because in a small town like Golden, we can influence and build on the amazing mountain culture already here.My family just loves being based in this area. We love to be outside and find the mountains to be soothing, challenging and nurturing. We have left the forest surrounding the Base Camp as natural as can be to minimize our impact on the land.

We have built these 2 cabins just for you! A lot of thought went into their placement on the land to maximize the tranquility and privacy of the surrounding forest. We love the cool quiet forest and hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!
