Iron Age farmers settled first and were followed by the English and Scandinavians and evidence of these early civilizations can be found throughout the region. The village has an excellent range of amenities including a variety of shops, two pubs, craft shops and a railway station. Nearby, Windermere and Ambleside offer a number of attractions such as boat trips on Lake Windemere and a ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park.

There are many holiday homes in Staveley, but this has one of the best locations, being away from the main road and handy for dog walks. Clean, comfortable and well equipped.
Kingfisher cottage is ideal for a family , great spacious living space , fully equipped kitchen , locating is perfect as it’s quiet yet very close to the village and all the amenities. Would definitely come back

Good location
Good cottage with plenty of room,upstairs shower and both toilets are a challenge for large or tall people and I think should be highlighted,good location for village amenities and for Lake District in general
