About this property

Getaway Waiheke - Walk to Oneroa Village

Summary:

Stay just behind Oneroa Village at Getaway Waiheke, with Oneroa Beach, cafés, restaurants, shops and public transport all within easy walking distance. This comfortable three-bedroom home sleeps up to six guests and has two bathrooms, central air conditioning throughout, open-plan living, a covered deck, lawn and off-street parking.

The Space:

Getaway Waiheke is all about location. Set just behind Oneroa Village, the home puts cafés, restaurants, shops, Oneroa Beach and public transport within easy walking distance, making it a particularly convenient base for guests who want to explore without relying on a car.

Inside, the open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area forms the main living space, giving families or small groups an easy place to cook, eat and spend time together. Large doors open from the living area onto a covered deck and lawn, extending the space outdoors for relaxed meals or time outside.

The home is built in brick, helping it retain warmth through the cooler months and stay naturally cooler during summer. Central air conditioning throughout the property adds year-round heating and cooling.

The covered deck and lawn provide useful outdoor space, while the surrounding greenery gives the property a private, residential feel despite its close proximity to Oneroa Village.

The home accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms have queen beds, while the third has two single beds, making the layout well suited to families or small groups travelling together.

Bed and bath configuration

Bedroom 1: queen bed

Bedroom 2: two single beds

Bedroom 3: queen bed

Sleeps up to 6 guests

Guest Access:

Guests have full, private access to the home, including the deck, lawn, and off-street parking area.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for an additional fee and can be confirmed closer to arrival, subject to same-day changeovers.

The Neighborhood:

Getaway Waiheke is located in a quiet residential pocket just behind Oneroa Village, the island’s main centre for cafés, dining, and everyday essentials. Oneroa Beach is within walking distance and offers safe swimming and an easy spot to spend time by the water.

Oneroa Village provides supermarkets, bakeries, boutiques, galleries, and a range of dining options. Well-known local spots include Too Fat Buns for casual meals and The Oyster Inn for lunch or dinner overlooking the bay.

The location also works well for exploring the rest of the island, with beaches, vineyards, and walking tracks all within a short drive or bus ride.

Getting Around:

Off-street parking is available at the property for guests travelling with a car. For those without a vehicle, the nearest bus stop on Matai Road is around a one-minute walk from the house.

Public buses run regularly between Oneroa, the main beaches, and the ferry terminal at Matiatia. Services also continue toward Onetangi, stopping near major vineyards along the way, making it easy to explore wineries without driving.

Taxis and rideshare services operate on the island but can be limited during peak periods and are often more expensive than public transport.

Other Things to Note:

This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.

Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.

Like many Waiheke homes, Getaway Waiheke runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay.

The property has a coffee plunger.

There are CCTV cameras positioned to monitor the driveway and garage area, these are operational at all times for security purposes.

With steps around the garden and decking, the home may not suit guests with limited mobility.

Minimum stay requirements apply, seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights on holiday weekends.

Interaction with Guests:

Our Stay Waiheke team is available 7 days a week, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with after-hours support for urgent matters.

For life-threatening emergencies such as fire, medical events, or urgent police matters, call 111 immediately.

For urgent after-hours issues that are not life-threatening, an emergency number is provided in your arrival instructions.
