About this property

Oneroa Vines and Views by Stay Waiheke

Summary:

Stay at Oneroa Vines and Views, a beautifully refurbished home overlooking Cable Bay’s rolling vines and the sparkling water between two of Waiheke’s most coveted bays. With sun-filled decks, calming interiors, and generous outdoor living, this is a place made for slow mornings, long meals, and effortless island days.

The Space:

From the moment you arrive, the home feels bright and open, surrounded by wide lawns, trees, and views that shift with the light. The main level is designed for relaxing and gathering, with floor-to-ceiling glass capturing the greens and blues of the landscape and sliding doors that fully open the living area to the outdoors. Whether you're cooking, sharing a meal, reading on the sofa, or simply enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun, the entire space flows naturally and comfortably.

The kitchen, dining, and lounge sit together in an airy open-plan layout that makes hosting easy. The kitchen is modern and well equipped for creating meals at home, while the living area feels warm and inviting with soft textures, calm colours, and thoughtful furnishings chosen to make guests feel instantly at ease. This level opens onto two key outdoor spaces: the private rear deck, sheltered and peaceful, and the front balcony, where you can watch the sun dip behind the hills with a glass of wine in hand.

Downstairs, a separate media room offers a quiet retreat for movie nights, rainy afternoons, or simply giving everyone their own space. The home’s layout suits couples, families, or small groups travelling together, giving a sense of privacy while still feeling connected.

Outside, the property stretches across generous grounds with open lawns, native plantings, and a tree house nestled among the greenery, a lovely hideaway for children and a reminder of how special it is to slow down and unwind in nature.

The Neighborhood:

Oneroa Vines and Views sits in one of Waiheke’s most desirable pockets, a peaceful ridge surrounded by vineyards, farmland, and coastal views, yet only minutes from the island’s main village. Cable Bay Vineyard is right next door, making it effortless to wander over for long lunches, wine tastings, or sunset dining. Mudbrick, with its award-winning restaurant, is also close by, offering a world-class food and wine experience just moments from your door.

The area is rich with walking tracks that wind between vineyards, hills, and sea cliffs. Oneroa Village is only a short drive or comfortable walk away, offering boutique shops, relaxed cafés, great restaurants, galleries, and all your essentials at the Island Grocer. Nearby beaches include Oneroa Beach, Cable Bay, and Church Bay, each offering its own charm, from calm swimming to quiet sunset spots.

The home is well positioned for easy access around the island. Oneroa Village, vineyards, beaches, and walking trails are all nearby, making short trips simple whether you’re on foot or driving. There is free, easy parking on site for multiple vehicles.

Buses run regularly through Oneroa, connecting to Onetangi, Palm Beach, the ferry terminal, and other key areas, making it possible to explore without a car. Taxis and rideshares operate on the island as well, though availability can tighten during peak periods, so pre-booking is recommended.

The property is around 5–7 minutes by car from Matiatia Ferry Terminal, making arrival and departure straightforward.

Other Things to Note:

Minimum stays: 7 nights from mid-December to the end of January, 3 nights on holiday weekends, and 2 nights at all other times.

Absolute Perfection!

My mother and I stayed here for several days while in town for my best friend's wedding. It was magnificent, the property looks exactly like the photos honestly even better. The outside spaces both the front patio and back are wonderful. The kitchen appliances are top notch, the beds are all comfortable. It was incredibly clean upon arrival, check in was easy, and the lovely Maya stopped by with a welcome gift of honey. We traveled VERY far from California and were so comfortable and happy during our stay here. We loved it. We'd book again in a heartbeat. I was the officiant for the wedding we attended at Mudbrick and it was literally right up the hill. WHAT A FIND! We could walk into town no problem, it was quiet, peaceful and the sunsets were amazing. Can't wait to come back!
