Modern plywood lined, corrugated iron clad bach. Located on the Te Akau peninsula at Okere Falls the bach works as well for a couple or a family. The bach, deck and lawn have a nice combination of bush and lake outlook. Inside is a lounge, master bedroom with a queen bed, a second room with three single beds plus a top bunk, kitchenette, and bathroom. Outside is a large deck with a 6m by 4m pergola with retractable roof and mesh blind sides, an Outdoor infrared heater ( it is great and even works well enough to be outside on a winter evening ...)a large table and a hooded BBQ with a side gas element for cooking. There is also a single element benchtop hob and sandwich press in the kitchenette. There is no oven and we cook primarily on the bbq. Inside the decor is plywood with a mix of colours on the doors, light fittings and furnishings. The Te Weta Bay reserve is three houses away (about 100 metres) for swimming, kayaking and boating. Use of a jetty and two sit on kayaks is included. The jetty is in a sheltered bay and you can leave your boat tied up at the jetty when staying without having to drive to a ramp to put it in and out of the lake each time you use it. The renowned Okere Falls store is 30 minutes walk away or a short drive for a morning coffee or an afternoon beer. There is a trampoline and a covered bike storage area. (Bikes are not provided). This is a new bach. It is well insulated and double glazed so is easy to get and keep warm over winter. There is a selection of extra blankets in case you need them at night or when enjoying an evening drink under the stars out on the deck and a heater inside. We have intentionally kept the bach simple with no TV or WiFi. There is a selection of books, games and cards for passing time in the evenings or rainy days. The drive has a corner in it and the parking area doesnt allow for turning a trailer around easily which means that larger boat trailers may need to be parked in the drive or on a roadside grass verge nearby. We leave our 5 metre boat in the water at the jetty when staying at the bach and have the empty trailer only on the bach section.

Lovely peaceful and private spot. House perfect set up for family of 5. Clean, warm and modern. Highly recommend!Just be mindful if bringing a boat, nowhere to store on site as very tight driveways.

We keep our Boat on the jetty when staying and there is room for boat trailer on grass verge about 50 metres away from the bach and common for trailers to be left there.
We had a lovely stay with our family of four. A great bach in a truly beautiful location. A laundry machine would have made it 5 1/2 stars (given we were there for a week), but really, this is an absolutely awesome accommodation for a proper lake getaway.
Fantastic batch experience in a stunning location. The owners were super helpful and allowed us to stretch our stay at short notice. I highly recommend
Very peaceful, lovely natural beauty in the area. Adequately equipped and maintained. Excellent bbq. Unfortunately no washing machine but overall a great vibe.
Stunning views, accom was amazing so quiet and cozy, loved the deck and the overall vibes of the place just what one needs for a weekend away at the lake

Great Location
Very cosy, unfortunately we don’t have time to spend at the batch and enjoy the kayaks and access to the lake.Would happily go back as well as recommend.
The bach is awesome and we love it here. Our second stay - lovely and peaceful, the boat jetty makes it easy to go out on the lake each day. The bach is everything you need with great outdoor area for bbqing and eating. Thanks
