Charming cottage on the coast

Quiet, secluded, shady and sheltered cottage in garden setting within 'Ellenglaze' a 25 acre property. Ellenglaze is approximately 2 minutes drive, or a pleasant 20 minute walk, from fabulous Sandy Bay beach and within easy access to the magnificent Tutukaka coast. Ellenglaze Cottage is comfortable and private set up for outdoor living. Wildlife abounds in an environment of exotic gardens, native bush, stoney bottom stream and duck ponds.

Sandy Bay is a popular surfing beach and great for fishing off the rocks. There are many walks in the area including a coastal walkway from Sandy Bay to Whananaki North.

The rest of the Tutukaka coast contains beaches of outstanding scenic beauty such as Whale Bay and Matapouri. Tutukaka Marina is a base for big game fishing and diving at the Poor Knights Islands plus it boasts a good selection of cafes and restaurants.

For the golf lovers there are courses at Whangarei, Hikurangi and nine holes at Ngunguru.

If you need supplies on your way here, Whangarei has many supermarkets, however there is a superette at Tutukaka and then a corner store at Matapouri. If you are approching via Hikurangi there is a superette in the main street.

Fuel is available at Tutukaka.

Approximate driving times to other places: Sandy Bay 2 minutes, Wooleys Bay 4 minutes, Whale Bay 6 minutes, Matapouri Bay 7 minutes, Tutukaka Marina 20 minutes, Hikurangi 30 minutes, Whangarei 40 minutes, Bay of Islands 80 minutes, Auckland 2.5 hours.

Definitely no pets. This property is a wildlife sanctuary.

2 nights minimum stay, a maximum of 4 people.
