Summary:
Barefoot Spirit is a purpose built beach house designed for privacy, light, and relaxed island living. Set just above Palm Beach, the home opens to the outdoors while still feeling calm and sheltered, with generous decks, open plan living, and separate sleeping zones that work well for couples or friends travelling together.
The Space:
Barefoot Spirit is arranged to make the most of its setting, with indoor and outdoor living flowing easily together. The main level opens directly onto a large, sun drenched entertaining deck that connects the open plan kitchen and living area to a freestanding double bedroom with its own ensuite. This layout creates a sense of space and separation while still feeling connected, ideal for slow mornings outside, shared meals, and quiet evenings at home.
The kitchen and living area sit at the heart of the home and are designed for ease rather than formality. Large openings allow fresh air and light to move through the space, bringing the outdoors in while maintaining privacy for guests. The deck becomes a natural extension of the living area, offering a comfortable place to relax throughout the day.
On the lower level of the main house, two additional double bedrooms are accessed via an external staircase. Each bedroom has its own private deck, offering quiet, personal outdoor space. This level also includes a full bathroom and a laundry, making the home practical for longer stays or guests who prefer a little separation between sleeping areas.
The overall feel of Barefoot Spirit is relaxed and unfussy. It is a home that encourages time outside, gentle routines, and an easy rhythm that suits both short breaks and longer island stays.

The Neighborhood:
Barefoot Spirit sits in a central Palm Beach location that makes exploring Waiheke easy without feeling busy. Palm Beach itself is only a short walk away and is known for its wide sandy shoreline, safe swimming, and relaxed local feel.
Within a few minutes walk you will find the Palm Beach dairy, The Red Shed art gallery, and Arcadia cafe, making it easy to grab a coffee or essentials without needing the car. The area offers a good balance of quiet residential streets and convenient access to island highlights.
A short drive takes you to Oneroa village for shops, galleries, and ferry connections, as well as the iconic Saturday farmers market. Waiheke’s vineyards, restaurants, and coastal walks are all easily reached from this base.
Getting Around:
The Palm Beach bus stop is within a few minutes walk from the property, with services running regularly between Palm Beach, Oneroa village, and the Matiatia passenger ferry terminal. Buses also continue past major wineries and attractions across the island.
Driving is straightforward from this location, with supermarkets, vineyards, beaches, and ferry services all a short distance away. Parking is available at the property.
Other Things to Note:
Waiheke relies entirely on rainwater tanks, and water is a limited natural resource on the island. To support sustainable living and protect local supply, especially during the drier summer months, we ask guests to be mindful of their water use throughout their stay.
