Raetihi Cottage has become a slice of history since being built approximately 100 years ago. There are lots of local activities to keep you busy in both summer and winter seasons. Set on a large, flat section there is plenty of room for the kids to run around!
A stay at Raetihi Cottage allows you to disconnect from modern life. There is no TV or Wi-Fi, but plenty of books to read and board games to play, and a comfortable lounge to sit and chat by the fire. Sleeping up to 11, take the opportunity to bring the extended family!
The coal range fire in the dining area is used to heat the water via the wetback, and from cold will take about 2 - 3 hours with the fire constantly going for the water to heat up enough for showers.
This region is famous for it's skifields with Turoa being closest, just 30 minutes away. Whakapapa takes 45 minutes to arrive making it easy to choose where to ski depending on weather conditions. Mountain bike trails, bush walks and many other nearby activities can fill a day if snow is not your thing. The Waiouru Army Museum is a short drive away and is highly recommended.
