About this property
The Nest in The Wood (with free fibre WiFi)
The Nest in The Wood is a detached two bedroom house in the quiet residential neighbourhood of The Wood, only a 10 minute walk to Nelson's rich array of cafes, shops and restaurants.
This two bedroomed house is fully equipped to ensure that it feels like a home away from home. The sunny living room has windows to the north and east ensuring all day sun with views of the flower filled garden. This quiet sunny spot is a wonderful place to relax with a book, listen to some music via the Bluetooth speaker or watch a DVD or selection of TV channels on Freeview on the 32" flat screen TV. The TV has Smart Vu so you can watch You Tube, Netflix (own account required), etc. The living/dining/kitchen area is an open plan L shape adding to sociability. The dining table seats up to 6 people.
The brand new kitchen is clean and tidy and fully equipped with a ceramic hob, full size oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso machine.
Pantry basics are provided along with a selection of locally produced goodies including Sublime plunger coffee, Pic's Peanut Butter, Tasman Ridge Olive Oil, Adventure Kitchen dukkah, gourmet mustard, jam and chutney. However if you've forgotten anything the nearest supermarket is only a couple of minutes away and the Milton St Dairy, Milton St fish and chip shop or the Sprig and Fern pub are just 100m down the road.
The two bedrooms have comfortable queen sized beds and feature professionally laundered top quality hotel-style crisp white cotton sheets. Each bedroom has a built in wardrobe, bedside tables and bedside lights.
The bathroom features a shower, a separate bath, a sink with storage below, a towel rail, extractor fan and mirror. The separate toilet is next to the bathroom.
Next to the kitchen there is a laundry with washing machine and laundry tub. The back door leads to an outside clothes line for drying laundry, and washing powder is provided.
The peaceful flower filled garden wraps around the house on 3 sides so gets all day and afternoon sun. There is an outdoor dining table and chairs and small gas BBQ.
There is a single garage and parking outside the house.
Special conditions:
No dogs, no smoking inside property, no parties and no additional overnight guests beyond those requested in the booking.

About the host
Hosted by Roz Speirs
I have been welcoming guests to my holiday homes since 2004. I take great pride in renovating, decorating and maintaining each property to a high standard to ensure that they provide a comfortable home away from home for guests.
I emigrated to New Zealand from Scotland in 2002 attracted by Nelson’s wonderful climate and lifestyle. I met my husband here who was born and raised in Nelson and returned home after working in North Island and the UK. In addition to running the holiday homes, I am a glass artist (www.clarityglass.co.nz) and my husband owns a fishing and diving store. We live close to all the holiday homes so are on hand to sort out any little problems that might arise.
Having rented many baches and holiday homes over the years I know what’s important to guests: cleanliness, a relaxing outdoor space, comfortable beds and top quality linen for a great night’s sleep, and provision of the “little things” like pantry basics, kitchen roll, first aid kits and sharp kitchen knives!

Why they chose this property
The Wood area is a quiet residential area tucked between the hills and Nelson City Centre. It is an easy flat walk to town, about 10 - 15 minutes. However there are lots of local amenities too including the tiny Sprig and Fern Pub, Bobby Franks Cafe, Milton St Takeaway and a post office/dairy. There are great walks on the doorstep - up the centre of NZ for great views over the city, or more leisurely walks along the Maitai River.
What makes this property unique
Relax in the sunny private garden...browse the books and DVDs, cook up a storm in the new kitchen or on the bbq. Take a short stroll and have coffee or brunch at Bobby Franks Cafe, or quench your thirst with a pint or glass of wine at the Sprig and Fern pub.
