Official website. When Granma was 95, we had to move her in with us to take care of her. This left her little panabode cabin (900 square feet with a 500 square-foot wrap-around lanai) vacant. Lucky you . . . you can spend your Hawaiian vacation in this beautiful, quiet, and centrally located cabin which has just about everything. There is a complete kitchen, a bath with tub and shower, a washer/dryer, a living/dining room, and a cable TV . There is also a big gas barbecue, and birds for a morning alarm clock. We even left all the little nick knacks in place to make this is truly a 'home-away-from-home'. The home is backed by a herb farm and macadamia nut orchard. It is surrounded by mac nuts, lychee, and mango, avocado, and citrus trees. If anything is in season during your stay, you are welcome to enjoy it. The big island of Hawaii is almost 200 miles around.
As you tour the island and along the Kona Coast you can see cattle ranches, rain forests, lava fields, volcanoes, snowcapped mountains in the winter, beaches, and spectacular valleys and waterfalls. Our cabin is located in one of the most temperate places on earth. We have over 300 excellent days a year. All of our prior guests have raved about their stay, and have vowed to come back. The Big Island has something for everyone.

2nd time staying in this wonderfully located space. Harry is a great host who offers all the comforts we were looking for. This loaction cannot be beat. It's an easy drive straight down the hill to anywhere on the West side of the island. Evenings here are an absolute pleasure with the temperature being 10-15 degrees F cooler and lovely afternoon/evening rain showers.
Great location, helpful and kind hosts, very cozy and has everything you need to enjoy a fabulous stay on the Big Island! The cabin is even better in person than photos show. An added bonus is the roasted macademia nuts provided by Harry & Deb! Would definitley stay here again if we are able to return to this area.
Birds paradise, surrounded by a beautiful foliage. Private, and relaxing. Great view, comfortable furniture and well appointed kitchen. Great location for a climate and the roads. We enjoyed our vacation.
Beautiful house and very clean! It feels like that’s your house, not a rental property. Amazing view from the deck especially at sunset. There are a lot of stuff in the house in case if you need something (beach chairs, snorkeling masks, fins, umbrellas, beach towels and much more). There is also a nice gas grill. My respect to the owner Harry for maintaining and keeping the house in such excellent condition. Thank you once again, that was unforgettable vacation!
This is a wonderful place to stay! Our host, Harry provided more than everything we needed and made us feel at home. Great location, great amenities, and a very comfortable space. Would highly recommend!
Harry provided us with the perfect base for our first time in Hawaii. From helpful local information, everything you would need for a beach day without having to bring it 5000 miles, to the best sunsets we have seen in a long time, it made our stay on the Big Island the best it could be. Thank you again to Harry for our little piece of paradise.
Harry has a great place and kept us well informed. Check in process was easy, the cabin is close to town and the airport. Plenty of great beaches nearby, there were plenty of amenities. He let us borrow some beach equipment from the cabin for our day travels. Overall excellent and worth it!
We enjoyed the atea of this property. Lots of foliage with a sunset view.

Aloha Kirk,
I assume you have rated me one star by accident as you had not made me aware of any discrepancies during your stay. If that is the case I would appreciate it if you would let VRBO know.
We had an excellent stay at Granma’s Cabin. The location was perfect for us - tucked away in a nice, quiet neighborhood, but only 15-20 minutes to dining, shopping and great beach spots. The airport was less than 15 minutes away too.The cabin was clean and comfortable and was stocked with all the kitchen equipment needed to whip up a nice meal. There are even some basic supplies like oil, seasonings and butter.Harry and Deb are terrific hosts. We enjoyed meeting them and they are there to help out with anything you need or have questions about, but the cabin is very private. We would not hesitate to stay again.
Property was as advertised and a very pleasant place to stay, tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. The stand-alone residence was a nice alternative to a condo complex.A hillside view of sunsets over the ocean were spectacular and it was only a 10-minute drive to a beach location to sit on the sand, if preferred. Easy access to Costco for food and gas and to the airport. Host and hostess were very helpful and congenial.
This was our second time staying at the cabin. My family loves it. It's very quiet, private, and relaxing. The hosts are great and give you all the privacy you need. It' a very unique gem. The kitchen and washer/dryer are very convenient. higlrecommend
My friend and I stayed here and very much enjoyed it. Harry made sure to have everything you need whether you're staying in or going out. Harry also replied quickly and kept in contact with us even though we booked it many months ahead of the time we needed.
I'd definitely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to explore Kona again.
I have rent 3 different vacation cabins in Hawaii, one in Oahu, one in Maui and this one in Big Island. All of them are 5 stars, but Granma's Cabin is the best among them. Harry is very nice and helpful, and it felt like we were really at home. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Big Island in the future.
Property with stunning views. Harry struck a good balance of being on the property and available to help as well as giving us our privacy.
We absolutely loved coming back to the property at the end of each day and watching the sunset. The temperatures were lovely at the elevation. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This is a magical place, in part because of location/view/property amenities, and in part because of the host’s outstanding hospitality. This is the best VRBO experience we’ve ever had…and we’ve traveled a lot!
