This beautiful little cottage is perched on the edge of the Nehalem River just minutes from the ocean. When it's stormy at the coast this location is protected. The expansive deck and windows provide an excellent view of the river and a variety of wildlife including elk, bald eagles, heron, sea lions and of course fishermen. We recently enclosed the front porch providing an additional seating area overlooking the river.
The unit is located in a quiet clean RV park (Nehalem Shores), the pace is slow and the locals are friendly. Enjoy fantastic fishing or kayaking on the river, shopping nearby antique shops, wine tasting or kite flying...beach combing...horse back riding...surfing...Manzanita Beach.
You'll love the comfortable cozy feel of this cottage rain or shine. Laundry services and high speed wi-fi are available. The cottage is just a short drive from Portland but well away from the busy tourist hubbub. A fantastic weekend or vacation getaway spot.

Host experience was great, answered all my questions. Manager Jere was welcoming and helpful. The RV has wonderful views, deck overlooks the river, units on both sides are back from the river slightly so it feels very private. Eagles dipping down catching fish, river otter family swimming upriver. The new public pool is why I chose Nehalem for my week stay. Lots of lap swimming hours available. Definitely an asset to the community. Everyone in town was super friendly. I loved kayaking and sliding up the sand to the fish and chips baked potato food trucks. Weather was dry and warm in spite of it being Early February! Thanks PJ! I hope to return soon.

So glad you had a great time Christian and thanks for the reminder of the rec center and pool being such a nice asset to the community. Look forward to hosting you again sometime.
Very much enjoyed our stay at "River's Edge Cottage!" Loved watching the tide changes on the Nehalem River from the deck - or from inside on rainy days. The cottage had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. Close to the ocean and lots to explore in the local communities. Hope to visit again!
Most favorite cabin to stay. It has everything. Wonderful owner, manager and neighbor. We have stayed there in autumn and winter, through snow, rain and wind storms. Best times always!
My wife and I had a delightful stay at this property. The house was clean, neighbors were all friendly, and the views of the river are definitely a highlight. A great place to stay for a little getaway to the coast.
We thouroughtly enjoyed our 4 night stay! The view was magnificient including the new window installed in the bedroom ! Place was clean, well equiped and very homey. It was quiet and others staying in park were very friendly. We would stay here again!
We loved this cozy little place with amazing views right on the river. We were a little worried about booking a stay during one of the coldest times of year but the place was very warm and cozy. Very clean and had everything we needed. Park host was also very helpful when we had a little trouble opening the key box.
What a beautiful spot, the views of the river and surrounding landscape were stunning! Very friendly Management and neighbors at the park - we felt at home. The home is extremely clean!
The property has such a serene, picturesque setting and the house itself was spotless and fresh! We had a wonderful stay and PJ was always so responsive and accessible! It was perfect!
I really enjoyed my time here. The location is RIGHT on the river and you rarely hear any noise from neighbors or cars, OR BOATS. The place is perfect for a couple or for a solo-getaway! Sitting on the deck reading, listening to the birds, and water was PERFECT! Very much recommended!

Christine, thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy you were able to relax and enjoy our little slice of the good life!
Charming little home on the river was a lovely stay for the weekend. The river has a stronger current than expected for us novice kayakers but still fun. Only minor issue was fidgeting with the key lock for check in. The need was super comfy, and shower had great heat and water pressure!
We stayed at the cottage for several weeks in June and I wholeheartedly recommend the property for long or short stays. The view of the river is incredible - we saw river otters, seals, herons, and a wide variety of birds - and itās truly special being able to wake up to the river view. The bed is very comfortable, we were able to cook many meals in the kitchen, and the cottage has a variety of places to sit and relax. The sunroom (enclosed porch) is a wonderful addition as it allows you to be close to the outdoors even when itās rainy.Everyone in the area was friendly and the hosts responded quickly to any messages I sent. Thanks for the great stay!

So glad you enjoyed the stay. Have a great summer š
This Nehalem home has always been our favorite place to stay. Always clean with every thing we need. The property manager and other neighbors are really friendly. On the river, close to other towns and the ocean, for little excursions. The perfect getaway!
The view was so revitalizing and calming at the same time. The mornings were quiet and misty and the afternoons were sunny. Really nice deck. Well appointed cottage done in good taste. The bald eagle family were good entertainment.
I stayed at Riverās Edge for a month, and I was made to feel welcome and as if I were staying in my own home. A beautiful time on the river, which allowed me a much needed time to re-energize and regroup. Loved it.
Perfect size for two people that need a base for local exploring the coast. Spent our mornings and evenings on the great deck, looking at the peaceful river, eagles, kayakers and beautiful green landscape. Everyone is very friendly. Very quiet. Responsive communications with host. Highly recommend. Would always stay here.

Thanks Troy for sharing your experience, we love it here too and Iām glad you enjoyed the visit.
This property was very clean, well organized and met our needs perfectly. Everything was provided as promised and just perfect. Just a short drive to the beach, and a very quiet neighborhood (well, except the guy across the street who swore like a sailor, but we just laughed). Lovely setting. Just what we needed!

About the host
Hosted by PJ Swan
We live in Bend, Oregon but dearly love the Oregon Coast and are so thankful to have many good memories with family and friends at the coast. We also enjoy knowing our cottage helps others enjoy the coast and river as well.
Why they chose this property
Living in Bend in the high desert is lovely but the richness of the flora and fauna of the Oregon Coast is a great contrast. We like the small slower pace of the North Coast. Everyone we've met here is very friendly and has a funny story to tell. It's an ideal place to get rejuvenated.
What makes this property unique
We love watching the eagles who nest in a tree across the river from our cottage and of course the herd of elk we often see grazing in the morning and evening. It's also fun to keep an eye out for river otters or sea lions and of course watching the fishermen reel in some big fish is entertaining.
