Escape to our beautifully renovated year-round cottage nestled on a private, 2-acre forested lot brimming with wildlife—spot deer, herons, beavers, and turtles right from the dock. Flooded with natural light from windows and skylights, our cozy 1000 sqft retreat offers both warmth from a wood stove in winter and central air-conditioning and fans for summer comfort.
The cottage features three comfortable bedrooms: two with queen beds and one with a single bed. There is a single daybed on the screened-in porch for relaxing afternoons or extra sleeping space. A beautiful 160 sqft bunkie, 25 metres from the cottage, overlooks the water and has another queen bed on the main floor and a loft with two single mattresses, with a nearby outhouse for nighttime necessities.
Whip up meals in our fully equipped kitchen featuring a gas stove and dishwasher for easy cleanup. Relax indoors on the oversized couch or around the large dining table or open the double doors onto the charming screened-in porch.
The expansive outdoor deck hosts an expandable teak dining table for 8 and a barbecue grill ready for evening cookouts. Gather around the fire pit in cottage chairs overlooking the water, enjoying the evening chorus of frogs, the stars, and the sound of the birds flying south for the winter. Enjoy cozy evenings indoors with our collection of board games or have fun outdoors with bocce ball or corn hole.
Walk down a short set of stairs to our waterfront cedar dock—ideal for birdwatching or sipping morning coffee while watching wildlife. There is room to accommodate your own boat, and the boat launch is just a short 5-minute drive away. Bring your boat (our bay is shallow and best suited to an outboard motor) or use our canoe and vintage kayaks (lifejackets included).
The immediate bay is shallow and great for fishing, canoeing and kayaking, but not swimming . We are adjacent to an environmentally protected wetland with lily pads, birds, frogs, and fish.
The top of the bay opens onto Loughborough Lake, a large, clean lake spanning over 24 kilometers and dotted with islands—perfect for fishing and swimming off a boat, crown islands, or at Davidson’s beach which is accessible by boat or car.
Exposed rock and granite formations of the Canadian Shield are scattered throughout the property, adding to the natural beauty and character of the landscape.
Explore local treasures easily: enjoy live music at Creekside Bar and Grill or dine at the Loughborough Inn—both accessible by road or boat. The cottage is conveniently located just 25 minutes from vibrant downtown Kingston, 35 minutes to scenic Westport, and a quick 20-minute drive to Frontenac Park. Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate trails at Elbow Lake Nature Reserve (only 5 minutes away) or the K&P Trail. Indulge in gourmet delights at The Cookery in Inverary, fabulous burgers and sandwiches at the Informal Feed Co. food truck, or unforgettable butter tarts at Mrs. Garrett's Bakery, each just a short drive away
