Historic Galveston Cottage # 2BR # Walk to Seawall # Sleeps 6
Welcome to our home. Nestled on the ground floor of a 2-story duplex you can bask in the comfort of a roomy 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom layout. Accessible through a private entrance, this living space also boasts a fully equipped kitchen. It's worth noting that this unit is part of a series of specially constructed homes shortly after the 1900 storm. Quiet, upstairs, owner-occupied property. .
This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $40 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.

Thank you for the review. I’m glad the home worked out well for your group and had the space you needed for all 5 guests. We appreciate you staying with us and would be happy to host you again on your next trip to Galveston.
Was an amazing stay in Galveston. Host was very helpful and keep us updated with weather conditions for the local beach. Home was very comfortable and quite. Definitely recommend 100%
We stayed there two nights and House and beds were comfy. We even accidentally left the back hatch up on our suv all night and nothing was disturbed or taken. Would stay again

Thank you for the great review. I’m glad you found the house comfortable and enjoyed your stay. Also happy to hear everything was still safe and untouched after the SUV hatch was left open overnight. We’d love to host you again anytime you’re back in Galveston.
As someone who stays in VRBO rentals quite frequently, I would highly recommend this home and location! Very comfortable, clean, and close to amenities! Host was extremely accommodating and quick to reply to questions!
We enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable, exactly what we were looking for. Everything was clean and neat. There were plenty of cooking utensils, dishes etc. chris was a good communicator.
The home was as advertised, clean, convenient to our activities and comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equiped for our needs. Outdoor space was nice, both front porch and back deck.
Family-friendly, cozy and a more affordable option compared to other properties of similar location and size. Owner stays on the 2nd floor but the entire first floor is private enough. It has everything we needed for a short vacation. Me, my wife and my parents enjoyed our stay.
Everything was as advertised, quiet neighborhood, clean facility and was very private. My wife and I enjoyed the home very much and would defiantly use this home again in the future. In a great location and easy to access and parking was a breeze, we parked next to the yellow house across the street and had the same spot every time.
Great stay! Only complaint is that it could have been a bit cleaner. Dropped something under one of the beds and noticed it’s dirty under there, as well as areas of the bathroom.
We had a blast thank u so very much for everything. If we had to write A complaint it would be we needed more trash bags and toilet paper. but there is a Walmart close so all is well

So sorry you ran short of the essentials. We are right upstairs and would have been more than happy to get more to you. Have done so for others. We have a par level for items, as we don’t know what will be used from guest to guest.
The area we stayed in was clean and had everything we needed. Tourist attractions were easy to find. The overall stay was amazing trip.

Silvia thanks for the kind review. I would just like to point out for next time, to be sure and go over the house rules and also check emails or texts. Regards, Chris
The place was perfect for our price range. It had everything we needed and the check in and out process was simple. My only recommendation would be for the property manager to begin cooling the unit before guests arrive. AC was set on 78 when we arrived, around 9:30pm, and it took until 4am to cool to 72 (probably because of the humidity). Once it cooled, we were good!
I am a native Texan and married to an Okie and we have 2 kids. Grew up on the coast of Texas around Houston. Galveston has been a part of my life growing up, from sailing with my father, to going to the beaches. We are foodies, Comic-Con nerds and love to travel checking out all the Diners, Drives-ins and Dives we can find along the way. We are here most of the time. Love getting to know people and their story, but also respectful to guests' privacy. When you arrive, you might find us on our balcony enjoying the fresh gulf air.
Why they chose this property
We selected Galveston for a couple of compelling reasons. Firstly, we have dear friends in the area, and after visiting multiple times, we developed a strong affinity for the region. Additionally, as I mentioned earlier, I have deep-rooted memories from growing up in this area, making it even more special to me.
Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Chris, and I've dedicated my entire career to the hospitality industry. However, my lifelong aspiration has always been to own a Bed and Breakfast (BNB). After careful consideration, we decided to pursue the route of short-term rentals (STR) because it aligns with today's trends and offers a more streamlined and turnkey approach compared to a traditional BNB.
What makes this property unique
What drew us to this home were its distinctive style and the charm of its age. Its central location was another appealing aspect. Additionally, the historical significance of being part of the 1900 storm rebuild added to its allure. Situated on a corner, we are fortunate to have more parking space than most properties on the island.
