About this property
Sue's House
Charming 2 level mud brick house nestled behind A Boy Named Sue and across the road from the St Andrews market and 1 hour from Melbourne. Well appointed and warm with a wood fire, Sue's house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. At your door step are amazing wineries, hiking trails and the Yarra Valley. Food options are sorted including A Boy Named Sue dine in or room service, A local baker and St Andrews Pub for a late night drink and live music. Your furry friends are also very welcome!
The space
The ground floor features an open plan living area with couch, TV, small dining table with 4 chairs and wood fired heater. There is also a well stocked kitchen with oven and bar fridge. Double doors open up onto the grassy area outside with shaded and non shaded space to sit and take it all in.
Upstairs is for rest. There is a Queen sized bed with cotton/linen sheets and a sofa bed which can sleep an additional person if required. The bathroom is also located on this floor with a toilet, basin and large shower area.
The wood fired heater heats the house beautifully but there is a split system air-conditioning unit if required.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and outside garden area. This area is accessed by private gate.
The place is dog friendly upon request - please note the space is enclosed but not fenced in so dogs must be on a lead in the outside area.
Other things to note
A Boy Named Sue is open Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday 10am-7:30pm. Dine in or room service is available during this time. Pre-orders are also welcome prior to arrival.
Sue's house is located in the thriving Left Bank precinct of St Andrews featuring A Boy Named Sue, A Local Baker, Punch Wine Room, St Andrews Pub, Bright and Sonder and Bizu Studios. Sue's Pantry is now open and showcases the best of our area with local cheeses, sweets, preserves, sauces, flowers, wine and take-home meals from A Boy Named Sue.
Across the road is the St Andrews market which operates every Saturday from 9am-2pm and is the oldest running market in Victoria. The market offers second hand fashion, produce, arts and crafts and artisanal eats.
Whilst the space is private and contained and only accessible by private gate you will hear and see guests walking past via the shared pathway linking the outside businesses. This is mainly on Saturday during the day during the market trading hours
