Magical river retreat with private swimming hole.

Firstly I’m very sorry to hear that you hit your head. Some private feedback would have been helpful if you felt this was a danger to other guests as I have only just seen your review now, 4 months after your stay. Other than putting up a sign, I don’t really know how to mitigate the risk here. I was under the impression that what appealed to you about our place was its similarity to a flat you shared in the 1970’s. I imagine that may also have had uneven flooring there and this was part of the appeal. The money grab as you termed it, was an extra charge for 6 guests. You had only booked for two and as my listing clearly states, there is an extra charge for more than 4 people. You’ll be pleased to know that we did spend money and had already changed the 4 point plugs as we do every couple of years. They were not, however, dusty as none of my house is! You may not be too old to travel ( I couldn’t possibly comment) although it does sound as though you might be better suited to an accessible room in a hotel, but your communication did indeed feel like it was coming via carrier pigeon. I discussed the bedding arrangement and my plan to make up the bed in one of the sleep outs ( not the 2nd one with the stained glass window) and your reply made no reference to my message at all. When the weather looked like it was going to be bad at the end of your stay, I offered an extra night at the beginning of your stay at no extra charge. Again, there was no reply. We had no idea whether you had arrived safely or when you had checked out as I couldn’t get hold of you on what’s app either. We have lots of comfortable furniture, perhaps not the main couch, I will admit that the back is a bit upright for me but there are plenty of other places to sit. Our beds are particularly comfortable! I’m not sure which fire alarm you are making reference to. If it is one of our smoke alarms and it went off for 15 minutes, again, it would have been helpful to hear about that straight after your stay in case the battery needed changing. If it was the local fire brigade, I’m sorry but we have no control over that. I’m sorry that you were so focused on the interior of the house that you were not able to enjoy the beautiful river aspect or any of the surrounding nature.
