Just steps from the sand, our Parata Avenue bach is the perfect Karitane getaway. Less than 50m to the beach, you can swim, surf, or simply stroll along the shoreline. Explore the Huriawa Peninsula walking track, launch a boat from the estuary, go kayaking or fishing off the local wharf. Come back to your coastal haven and rinse off in the hot, outdoor shower. After a day in the sun, wander to the local general store – famous for its delicious pizzas. Or if you want a feast at home, fire up the outdoor BBQ and enjoy the sun. Whether you’re after adventure or a quiet retreat, this bach offers the best of Karitane’s coastal charm.

Karitane is only a short 30-minute drive to Dunedin.

A great location, very close to the beach, private and so clean. We had all we needed and the bed was so comfy. Hearing the waves on the shore from your bedroom at night is a real treat. Highly recommend. We were sad we couldn’t stay longer.

We had an excellent stay, loved the batch, plenty of room, clean and lovely facilities. Enjoyed the location, walk 50m to the beach and lovely walks around Karitane. We enjoyed Arc brewery and The general store for coffee and scones. Will come back again.

Recharged ourselves by staying at this lovely property. Absolutely gorgeous! Walkway stright to a quiet beach. Evening beach walk, Morning beach walk. Safe, quiet, clean, Everything you would want in a cottage/batch. Host was helpful and kept us informed on local weather updates. Cleanliness was important to me and this house delivered. House is set up to provide differnt areas to sit comfortably and enjoy! And we absolutely did! Our baby and toddler were safe with the surrounding fence,gate, around the property, a tree to play around in the backyard with a attached swing. Outside shower to wash the sand off. Sleep out for our adult child, who spent most of his time at the beach and wants us to return during the holidays. Unforgettable memory was made, looking forward to returning 👍
