The Space:

Vista Mar is designed for easy, everyday holiday living, with elevated outlooks across treetops to the water and a settled, residential feel throughout. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is light-filled and practical, creating a comfortable space for families to spend time together without feeling crowded.



The kitchen is well equipped for relaxed meals at home, and the living area opens to a sunny balcony where mornings often begin with coffee and views across the bay. Downstairs, a sheltered patio opens to native gardens and works well for afternoon platters, quiet play, or winding down at the end of the day.



Two bedrooms are located on the main level. One features a queen bed, while the second includes a bunk bed suited to children. The home is well set up for small families, with good natural light, a calm layout, and spaces that flow easily between indoors and out.



Vista Mar suits guests wanting simple comforts, a quiet setting, and access to beaches, bush walks, and community spaces, rather than a high-energy or resort-style stay.

Guest Access:

Guests have private access to the entire home, including indoor living spaces, balcony, patio, garden areas, and on-site parking.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee, subject to availability.



The Neighborhood:

Vista Mar is located in Rocky Bay, also known as Omiha, one of Waiheke’s quieter coastal communities. The area is known for calm swimming beaches, native bush, birdsong, and a relaxed, residential pace that suits families and guests wanting to slow down.



Rocky Bay Beach and Omiha Bay Reserve are close by and popular for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and time on the sand under pohutukawa trees. Coastal walking tracks run through the area, offering gentle shoreline strolls and bush walks. Whakanewha Regional Park is a short drive away and features forest trails, wetland boardwalks, swimming spots, and picnic areas.



For food and supplies, Ostend is a short drive away and is home to the island supermarket and the Saturday Ostend Market. Several well-known vineyards are also within easy reach, including Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, and Wild on Waiheke. The Heke Brewery is nearby and offers relaxed dining, craft beer, and a large outdoor garden that works well for families.



Getting Around:

The nearest bus stop is in Rocky Bay, within walking distance of the property. Regular bus services run through Rocky Bay and connect to Ostend, Oneroa, Onetangi, and the ferry terminals. Buses also pass major vineyards and continue through the island, making it possible to explore without a car.



On-site parking is available. Taxis, shuttles, e-bikes, scooters, and rental cars operate across Waiheke, though availability can be limited during peak periods.

Interaction with Guests:

The Stay Waiheke team is available 7 days a week between 8:30am and 5:00pm for general questions, maintenance requests, and any help you need during your stay.
