Chris’s Oceanfront Retreat is a bright, multi-level beach house tucked away on the quiet north side of Rockaway—close enough to everything, but far from the crowds. Two nearby public paths make getting to the ocean quick and easy, so beach days are always within reach.

The main level features an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen space filled with natural light from big windows and coastal views. Step outside onto the ocean-view deck and follow the stairs down toward the beach paths—perfect for morning coffee or sunset hangs. The updated kitchen has artificial granite countertops and a fully stocked pantry, making meals at home a breeze. Upstairs, you’ll also find three bedrooms, including a spacious California king primary suite.

Downstairs offers another open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area that opens to a private lower deck surrounded by coastal brush—great for a little extra peace and quiet. Two additional bedrooms on this level give everyone plenty of space to spread out and relax.

The garage is packed with fun extras, including a picnic table, gas grill, horseshoes, beach toys, and plenty of firewood. It opens to the parking area and serves as the main entry to the home. After a day of beachcombing, unwind around the wood-burning fire pit, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the stars. You’re also just a short drive from the shops and restaurants in Rockaway, plus nearby Netarts, Tillamook, and Nehalem.

Overall, we enjoyed our 2 day stay, but for the nearly 2,800 price tag, we expected a bit more.The highlight of this property is definitely the upstairs deck and living area. The views of the ocean are absolutely stunning, and there's a convenient path from the bottom of the deck stairs directly to the beach. The beach itself was quiet, uncrowded, and perfect for long walks.The house is spacious and worked well for our group. The large picture window and upstairs deck provide incredible ocean views.There were a few drawbacks. While there is a garage, it was too full to park in, so we had to use the side parking area, which was difficult to maneuver with a truck. The fire pit is located next to the parking area and doesn't have a view, and the public beach access passes through the parking area. The downstairs deck also borders the public beach access, so it isn't very private, and there are no ocean views from the downstairs living spaces.The home was clean overall, but the downstairs bedrooms had a noticeable dog urine odor. We were also disappointed that most of the bedrooms and bathrooms lacked window coverings, which affected privacy. supplied toilet paper and paper towels were of very low quality, and for a vacation rental at this price, we felt it would have been nice to have basic kitchen essentials such as spices, coffee, foil etc. However, considering the cost, we felt it was overpriced and could be improved with better amenities, more attention to cleanliness

Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. I'm so glad the upstairs deck, living area, and direct beach access were highlights of your stay. We do state on the listing and in the guest portal that the 4 parking spaces are in the driveway. I'm sorry about the garage confusion and will work to make that clearer for future guests. We will have the housekeeping team inspect for an odor downstairs and deep clean any affected areas. We will also speak to the homeowner about adding blinds to all bedroom and bathroom windows to enhance privacy. Thank you, truly, for letting us know where we can improve. We will use your feedback to do just that.
