Perfect location in the resort, clean and tidy and easily worked for the four of us.The apartment has everything you need including cooker, hob, microwave etc towels were also included.Great views out from the windows of the mountains and ski runs. There is a ski room down stairs with a dedicated locker for your boards and boots. The closest ski run is 50m away and there is a bakery opposite the complex We will return
Great location as only 300m from slopes, and close to supermarkets and some nice restaurants. Apartment is quite a good size but with no external windows in 2 of the 3 bedrooms it can feel quite stuffy/claustrophobic. All communication with owners and management quick and easy. Would stay again
Very nice apartment and the communication with the owners was superb. But note that the apartment is very small yet efficient. Of the three bedrooms only one has a window and the ceiling height in the bedrooms, which is up a super narrow staircase, is maybe 1,78 meters. We were very happy with the stay and the owners.
Couldn't be better located - 30m to the slopes, boulangerie opposite, ski shop next door, supermarket 100m away and plenty of restaurants within 2 mins walk.
Nicely furnished and decorated with everything you need.
A bit tight headroom-wise upstairs, but not a massive issue - only sleeping up there after all!
Nice place, great location right next to the ski pist. And 10min walk from the town center. Kitchen was well equipped. Upstairs has little ventilation and can get pretty hot. Beds were very confortable
Lovely apartment in a central location, close to the slopes and with a ski locker in the basement ski room. Great view from the balcony. Communication with the property manager was first class. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our stay. As others noted, it’s a small and spartan apartment that benefits from a great location. It’s not really a third bedroom, unless for use by children. The ceiling on the top bunk almost makes it unusable. But the beds in the other two bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. For those up in the middle of the night, the bathroom downstairs — including a precarious, narrow set of stairs — might find it challenging. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time.
Had a great stay here. It was nice to have three rooms, and the living space was decently big for our group of four to hang out. Some awkward positioning with the furniture and the way the door swung, and the ceiling was a bit low on the second floor—two people hit their heads several times. But overall definitely one of the largest spaces we were able to find in the village. The dishwasher was a big plus too.Location was great; short distance to the slopes and ski rental store right nearby. A bit further to some of the restaurants and bars, but all were walking distance. The biggest flaw was extremely slow WiFi. It was basically unusable if everyone was on the wifi at some time. I suspect the wifi was provided by some mobile router than an actual router.Communication was great with the property managers and they were very responsive.
Well located, easy access to the slopes (although not ski in, ski out). Good view of the mountain. The property was poor. The main door opens into the toilet. There was no internet and the replacement internet which came four days later was modem speed. When the kettle, cooker and oven is switched on the power trips - apparently there is a low usage tariff that owners sometimes use to ensure power usage is kept low. We were given one tea towel for our stay. All kitchen stuff from Ikea. The bathroom smelled like a stagnant pond, although the smell improved by itself during the week. No products. One toilet roll. There were two cheap televisions, one not hung straight, without any access to streaming so we were limited to French TV. The furniture was and decor was basic. The three bedrooms were upstairs. One with natural daylight. Two the ceiling height was so low you couldn't stand up. It is marked as a three bedroom, six person property but it definitely wouldn't fit six people. The 'living room' sofa is a two person sofa. Given the enormous sum of money we paid and the (misleading) photos and description, the apartment experience was very poor. This is a maximum profits minimum investment rental property.
This apartment has a well-equipped kitchen, with modern appliances, and we appreciated that the food cupboard contained many useful items - oil, spices, filter papers, etc.
The beds were presented with good linen and towels, and the apartment had been professionally cleaned before we arrived, apart from the balcony, which was unusable.
There are TVs in the lounge and by the beds, but these are out of date, with inoperative remotes, they are not smart TVs offering Netflix, streaming etc. The supplied internet is just a mobile SIM package, no better speed that you would get on your phone. For the price of the apartment, I would expect better technology.
Upstairs, there is 1 bedroom with a double bed, and two boxrooms (no windows) - one with double bed, one with two bunks. The ceiling height upstairs is low, about 1.8m (about 6 feet) so if you are tall, you will need to stoop, or crack your skull. The stair is very steep, with no handrail.
The bathroom and toilet cubicle are both very small. We found the apartment adequate in size for 4 people. It would be very cramped for 6. Likewise, the ski locker was large enough for 4 sets of equipment, 6 would be difficult.
The building is large, has 6 floors (some duplex), but has only one elevator, so there is a lot of waiting required at busy times, or a long flight of stairs.
The building has no parking. Our friends had to park in area P3, which is a 20-minute walk away.
Communication from the owners' agents was perfunctory.
Great Location/Walking Distance to Everything You Might Need
We were four adults sleeping in separate beds and found the space a little tight, however the location was ideal. Everything was as described in the listing and walking distance to everything you might need (i.e. access to the ski runs is no more than 20 meters away). Val Thorens is a much younger crowed than we realized (Americans traveling to Val Thorens for the first time) and we were very grateful for the 24/7 security and quiet hours. Unfortunately we have to leave a rating of 3 stars for two reasons, all related to communication. First, we reached out to our host multiple times (weeks before our check-in date) to confirm the parking situation. We didn't receive a reply from our host until the check-in day and ended up having to park our vehicle outside of Val Thorens. The nearest available parking had to be reserved 7 days in advance. Second, the day after our check-out the host reached out to us to tell us that we had damaged one of the keys and that they would have to change the locks. This was not accurate. When checking in our host was unable to access the unit with one of the sets of keys, so the damaged key was a known issue at the time of check-in. We were able to resolve the issue without being charged, but this was after a lot of back and forth communication with our host. We have to note that the person who checked us in was different than the person who we were communicating with in the chat and the language barrier was certainly part of the problem.
