Owner welcomes you to enjoy High Tide Cottage on Hilton Head Island, a 2 min walk on a private path to Folly Field Beach. The updated and charming cottage is a 2 story comfortable and clean living space in the quiet Folly Field neighborhood. Need a first floor bedroom with a full bath-we have one!!
Five total bedrooms sleep 10 with 3.5 bathrooms. (See layout in pictures) The cottage has 2 ground level Keyless entries, PRIVATE 35' POOL which is heatable (depending on current outside temperature for a $400 fee,) outside dining area, horseshoe pit and charcoal grill, and a fenced yard. The cottage is one dog friendly ($250 fee), close to beach and bike paths, shopping, restaurants, and other entertainment opportunities. Stroll to the ocean to enjoy the beautiful morning sunrise; return at the end of the day to view sandpipers and dolphins. Or, just relax by YOUR OWN PRIVATE POOL and read a good book while enjoying your favorite beverage. Hoping you will enjoy your stay at High Tide Cottage and will become a repeat renter.. We were renters from the prior owners and jumped at the chance to be the current owner- that is how much we loved our time spent at High Tide Cottage!

Amazing Vacation

The home was beautiful and clean. Owner was amazing, replied quickly, very kind and wonderful to deal with. I would highly recommend this beautiful home. Only minutes to the beautiful beach, even had a wagon available to carry our things down to the beach.

Perfect beach stay!

It's our second time here and the location is perfect! the kiddos loved the pool and the access to the beautiful beach. It's a quiet, peaceful neighborhood that is perfect for a family.

The perfect home for your family vacation!

We couldn't have been more happy with our stay at the High Tide Cottage. We had five adults and three kids/teens and the home was very spacious and we never felt like we were on top of one another. The kitchen is great and you can have multiple people in there and not be on top of one another. The home is steps away from the beach and the pool was an addition we hadn't had in a vacation home to date that made the getaway even better! Megan was a great host! Easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Location

We were down for our sons wedding at the Westin and the cottage was a perfect homebase for our family to enjoy a week together. The cottage was charming and cozy. It had everything we needed to feel at home. The location to the beach and the pool were an added bonus. We will definitely look to stay here again when we return to Hilton Head!

Wonderful Spring Break

We loved this stay! The pool was amazing and the location can’t be beat. It’s about a 5 min walk to the beach. The beach wasn’t crowded because it’s not in the main hotel areas. My kids loved the local playgrounds. Overall, Hilton Head was great for us!

Close to the beach.. great pool

Great week at the beach... not crowded at all.. house provides a cooler and cart to get everything you need to the beach! Returning to the house to swim in the spacious pool was the kids favorite! Owner was very responsive to questions!

Great place, amazing location

My sister and I stayed with our families to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. Steps from the beach, the house was large enough to accommodate all of us with a pool that kept my older kids entertained and a mini bedroom that was perfect for my niece’s crib. Everything was clearly explained, as promised, and super clean, so we didn’t need Megan, but I have no doubt that she would be on top of it if we did. Would highly recommend!

Close to Beach

We have made several trips to HHI and stayed in a few different areas so we are not new to renting homes here- Pros- Very close to beach, nice sized pool, air worked well, owner pleasant,easy to work with and is responsive. Cons- older place, smelled like mold, no carpeting or descent throw rug, had to buy my dog a rug to lay on, floors sandy, needs up dating and painting, furniture uncomfortable to sit on, could have been much cleaner, pool could have been cleaner even after pool it was serviced, no grass for dog to do business on all shells and rocks, not sure why the high pet fee is charged for, as there is nothing to damage.

Excellent stay in High Tide Cottage!

Our family of 7 adults and out 55lb dog had a wonderful stay over the Christmas week. Megan was a great host; quick at answering my questions and very accommodating. Although mother nature didn't bring the warmer weather we hoped for we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilton Head. The cottage had the perfect amount of space for all of us. We relaxed on the sofas and watched TV, did arts and crafts and played games on the large dining table and prepared all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen. The location can't be beat! We walked and ran with our dog on Folly Field beach every day and she loved fetching, swimming and playing with the other dogs. The water was calm and the sand was packed and great for walking, running and riding bikes. We explored the area and really enjoyed the Gullah heritage bus tour and riding horses at Lawton Stables. We definitely will stay here again if we travel to Hilton Head in the future!

Beach Vacation

I was really happy with the property and the location (very close to the beach!). But when we got back home we got an email from a rental insurance company saying that our VRBO stay resulted in the host reporting is for damages (note that we do not owe anything — it’s covered by this insurance, but the insinuation that we broke these items was annoying). I noticed the property had a few odds and ends that needed done (there was a broken chair in the backyard by the pool that we took to the trash area when we arrived, that kind of thing). The host never asked me about these items or asked what happened. I’m not sure how I could have avoided this situation short of reviewing the property and alerting the host of anything amiss. Overall, a very weird experience for such a pricey rental option.

It was okay

Even though we had some issues when we arrived and I emailed Catherine one was taken care of. I did not discuss all the issues with her. The house was okay you can tell that it is an older property in much need of updates and repairs. I look at reviews and all reviews were really good but as a person in house cleaning for forty years this place was not up to my standards. I was disappointed that in the days of Covid the house was not real clean. There was dirt, clothes and tissues under the beds. They were not sweep under so I know they were not scrubbed. We had to clean under them. The outside fence is falling in and there was garbage in the bushes that smelled awful. Dried dog poop, that I was told someone would come and clean up. The garbage can in the kitchen was filthy, the kitchen drawers needed a good cleaning. We also had to clean mold out of the washer, shower heads in the house and outside. We wanted to put our clothes in the drawers but had to clean them out first because of the hair and dirt in them. The pool was the nicest thing, it just needs cleaned more then once a week. It wouldn’t filter water as it needed more added to it. I hate to be so negative on my review but the bad really did out weigh the good. As for distance to the beach it wasn’t a bad walk and Hilton head is pretty. I just wanted to try a new area. I think I will go back to Myrtle Beach next year. Catherine I am sorry for the review but I believe it needed to be said. You were very kind to me but you need to really check on your cleaning crew

A beautiful experience

We had the most relaxing trip and very much e joyed our stay here. The house is well appointed with all the comforts of home. Very close to the beach which was never crowded. The pool was lovely and clean. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool. The master bedroom was very nice and the bed was really comfortable. The other beds could use an upgrade in quality but everything was clean. And well maintained. Not having an automatic ice maker in the refrigerator was a bit if a challenge as there was no place very close to buy ice daily. Having a working laundry room was so nice as we did not need to pack as many clothes for the trip! Overall we made some great family memories and really had a beautiful experience!!

My husband and I and our family have been coming to Hilton Head Island for many years. We both grew up in Columbus, OH, and are big Buckeye fans! We still live in the central Ohio area and are both retired. We came to love High Tide Cottage as we were repeat renters. I hope to maintain the quality and charm in this unique, early Folly Field home.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in a quiet residential community. Short walk to beach (2 minutes!). The beach is uncrowded even during height of season!
Lovely private pool (can be heated during cooler months). Dining table outdoors as well as indoors. Spacious cottage with five bedrooms with room for10 people and 3.5 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is on the main floor and has a full bath for those who don't climb stairs. Kitchen is fully stocked. Washer and dryer are available.

What makes this property unique

Perfect for a family "staycation" if you are working and /or schooling from "home". Good WIFI, private room for office or nursery on second floor. Email us if you are interested! Discount available for extended stay for Snowbirds or staycation users.
